the Brazilian girl had that whole thing memorized. Someone else wrote it for her. There`s no way a little girl will speak with such proper grammar. (and you can tell she forgets her lines when she stops talking and has to think about what she`ll say next).
I find it amusing that she was talking about infidelity. I`m sure she knows exactly what she`s talking about.

lol.. this stuff cracks me up. I`ve witnessed some of this first hand. People speaking in tongues and the apparent manifestation of the holy spirit making someone go crazy and start laughing and jumping around an all that nonsense. I`ve been to large sermons and watched people with hands laid upon them collapse or jump around. I`ve seen young people have the same thing happen to them. And you know what i did... i laughed. Its all such a load of bulls**t...
Have faith if you want, believe in your god and your after life if it makes you feel better. But don`t go ahead and invent random stuff like the holy spirit manifesting itself through people... cause thats all just a wee fantasy and nothing more.

vv "Yeah, Religion makes people dumb, if it weren`t for religion... oh wait."

I`m done with this argument, Baal. Yes, religion does make people do silly things. It makes people blow themselves into chunks of charred meat because they (actually, really) believe that they are going to heaven with 72 virgins. It makes people mumble to a big invisible man every sunday and expect Him (why`s it always a him?) to solve their problems. It makes degradation of woman justified because of neolithic texts claim that women are inherently inferior to men. I could go on. And on. And on.

Prejudiced against religion? You bet your f*cking arse I am!

And note, I say religion, not religious people... please don`t go comparing me to a KKK nazi n*gger-lynching fag-hater like you did last time.

Why do childrens pastors always try to bash around Harry Potter? They make themselves look like idiots and freaks.

I`m a christian, and I have no problem with fiction. I would also agree that the holy spirit is, infact, `weird`.

Eichenkatze: Glad to see another Buddhist.

The one that bothered me (aside from the 7 y/old preacher girl (can we get a translation?)) was that Jesus Camp one. The others were rather stupid, but that video had me half offended and half laughing. I have attended stuff like this, and I am grateful I slept through them all. The extremes these people take... honestly, it`s sad.

The majority of Christians, or so-called ones need to actually follow their God and accept other religions.

And am I the only one that notice her "cleansing water" was Nestle`s Bottled Water? That stuff comes in Holy flavor now?

oh and that jesus camp bullcrap. Kind of reminds of the video about the 2 politcal parties.

There is only 2 kinds of people. either you love jesus or you dont`. You either going to heaven or hell. you`re saved or damned. Christian or Atheist. there is no inbetween. Our religion is the correct one. No other religion is right. I could so see her saying that.

And yeah freaking out over Harry Potter. Morons.

Lets do a very simple exercise here.

Look at the concepts inherent in religion. Then lets look at what people have tagged on top of it all on their own without help from the religion.

Religion: There`s a devil.
People: He stabs people in hell. He has a trident. He has big red horns. He probably wears a suit and shades and looks quite cool when he`s trying to trick people.

Conclusion: Disney cartoons have a greater effect on stupid ideas people have about religion than the Bible.

You can see active misnomers compared to the Bible in the last 100 years. (Adam ate an "apple". Apples never mentioned. The animals went in "2 by 2", not so.)

People continuously tag stuff on to the end to help them understand.

So really, your quote is: "People, making religion stupid for 2000 years".

Even look at the oldest copies we have of Mark, they don`t even have a resurrection.

"Religion: Making otherwise rational people act like complete f*cking fruit-loops for 2000 years!"

Yeah, Religion makes people dumb, if it weren`t for religion... oh wait. Boy tried to kill his mom to buy breast implants for his GF a couple of days ago...

Oh wait... about 1/2 the links on this site relate to people just doing stupid poo all on their own....

Oh wait... 5.5 billion religious people on the planet and we have powered flight as opposed to just sitting in our own vomit covered in snakes and having seizures.

I wonder if that means... no... could it be.. your prejudices are coming into play again?

Missed the #1 Religious Freakshow off the list though - the Catholic church, which, if it isn`t the Antichrist referred to in Revelation, will do until the real thing comes alone. Just about everything espoused by this so-called church is the opposite of what the Bible says.

Nidonemo that`s very thoughtful and considerate of you, to examine an ancient tradition in an egalitarian way. I`ve heard of women serving as rabbis though,(Reform Judaism?)but I haven`t heard of the triple denial test of which you speak. It would be great if you could fill me in though,(maybe it has a connection w/ the story of Peter`s denial?)I`m all ears. *Is interested*

Ahhh, people and their religions is crazy. The most I find crazy of that is the Jesus Camp, not only because it involves brainwashing children. But due to the fact I live in that town, I don`t know this was going on. It now scares me.

Sigh... reminds me of my childhood. It`s amazing I recovered. Oddly enough, I grew up with the Jesus-Camp type who ironically thought snake handling was dangerous and stupid. Thankfully I was smart enought to move away at 18 and figure out reality, though it took years to clear my confused and brainwashed head. Those poor crazy people don`t mean to hurt or confuse anyone- they think they are saving people. They have good hearts and just don`t realize how crazy they are.

hmm...seems like comment deja vu for me today. Anyways I just want to point out how easy it is to judge something you have no first hand experience with or knowledge of. I am not innocent of it, the first time I say one of the "pushing people over" videos I was freaked out, but its different for everyone I guess. As for the writhing around it is mentioned in the bible as being drunk on the Spirit rather than wine, and there is a chance the vids are crap, but they could be legit too. Think critically and for yourself people! Don`t just follow what everyone else says. Please keep an open mind. </rant>

I know I don`t usually say much here but I felt it had to be done. Please don`t hate me for it

Jesus Camp is a (pretty balanced and fair) documentary about real-life Christian summer camps in the US. You should check it out at Blockbuster, it`s very.... interesting, to say the least.

Wow. that is scary. Faith becomes scary when it becomes a religion. Good thing that most of that falls under cult status but most mainstream churches. Jesus Camp people are going to be the fall of the world

Eichenkatze: Nah, not exactly, he did the motions, God did the work, Moses got the credit, but that`s just ONE interpretation I`ve heard.

Former student of Judaica, I`ve separated myself from it because I don`t want to associate with a belief system that, by tradition, doesn`t allow women to be on the same level as men, and has a routine where you are denied three times before you can be considered worthy of joining.

Again, that`s one form of it, but in the long run, I still think it dusty and rude.

Ugh watching stuff like this makes me want to cast out people like the Jesus school preacher for such crap.
Don`t get me wrong, being Buddhist I don`t know a whole lot about Christianity anymore aside from the basic ideas and what not.. but i`m PRETTY sure God`s intention wasn`t to raise up a brain-dead army of "Christian God Soldiers" to rise up and take the United States "back" nor do I think God cares about Harry potter and any of those.
Besides... wasn`t Mosses... TECHNICALLY a wizard? parting the red sea and all that?

And the snake handler should NOT be number 1. Children having seizures and spasms is way more creepy than snakes.

In short, 4 out of 5 are false doctrines/prophets. Which, by the way is prophesied in Revelations.

You got it on the tounges part N-Vet, although there is other versus dealing with tounges, and they don`t follow the definition. Jesus camps are scary, Benny Hinn is a hoax, along with TBN, T.D. Jakes, Rod Parsley, Jesse Duplantis, or anyone who asks for money for preaching. The Holy Ghost is real, but without watching the video I can`t say much more about it. Don`t know if they took it out of context. Females aren`t allowed to preach, even if they are young. Snake Handlers only read half a verse. Anyone need any clarification on those?

With the whole speaking in tongues spectacles, there are rules spelled out in the bible, Paul covers this in 1 Corinthians 14:26-28,
"What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church. If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God."
Most recordings I have seen of speaking in tongues, the churches shown don`t follow these guidelines. There are other instructions stating that there should be at least 2 or more interpreters to confirm what is being said.

Gunit1;

Contrary to popular belief, Adam and Eve (according to the Bible) were in fact /not/ the first man and woman on Earth. There`s a lovely essay you can look at if you follow this link.

Hey, with the whole religios thing on topic...
HOW DID ADAM AND EVE POPULATE THE EARTH?
there where 3 sons, adam and eve.
4 males.
1 felame.
How is that possible?
Either way it dosent fit...
Mom does the kids; Adultery.
Mom does dad; NUH-UH! They only had 3 kids, all sons. NO MORE THAT THAT!
So answer me.

That is some freaky stuff, especially the Jesus Camp thing. They have the totally wrong idea though. If it had been the Old Testament Harry Potter would have kicked everybody`s ass. I mean the guy does magic! You think some guys with bronze swords are going to take down a guy who can do magic?

Why must these people do everything within their powers to give Christians bad names? Seriously, we`re not all like that.

What I don`t like even more, though, is when people decide to dislike Christians just from looking at people like this.

The people in the first video look like they need an exorcism.

And if anyone still believes Benny Hinn is a faith healer, I`m ready to tear heads off. He`s a lying, cheating, scamming televangelist. -_-

... As for the third video, I don`t think that needs to be on there. She`s just a kid and she`s probably copying what she`s seen the adults around her do, which is act like they`re possessed by the devil himself.

As for Jesus Camp -- I find that somewhat disturbing. I believe that God gave us freedom to choose to either serve Him or not to (and no, I don`t care if anyone agrees/disagrees with me on that.) Brainwashing children like this at such a young age goes against what it says in the Bible. Those people are hypocritical nuts.

TBC.
