I already did.. I feel I made my point thouroghly and am not interested in bringing up the same versus, rather I will ask you to go back and find it in the posts back of this.. if you have something new to add.. I will check this forum late this evening.
i am all for self expression and i dress very creatively but...that....uhm...well he can just have fun with that o_e
It`s what the comment section is all about!
Crazy long comment section.
God I hate that Guy..Sorry Just Do.
Nah Elkingo. I say it`s alright, no harm, no foul. Crazily off-topic (I`m pretty hard-core atheist, was watching the diversion into god-posts) but all in good spirit.
I say good thread.
XDThat was the first thing I thought.
holy shizzle o_0
OK then. May the seed of your loin grow fruitful in the belly of your woman.
Most spectacular thing I ever heard, from an old man in Morocco.
wait nonot me!
that made me laugh XD
Maybe its because you are self conscious?
So, to recap, does anyone require clarification class? There will be an exam Tuesday, and a study guide Monday. lol j/k
As Christians, we can only hope. =)Well, its more likely according to Peter Berger that it will become more secularized, but that is where I like to argue rapture.
that was a typo I promise dragon!
Ha, no harm done. Although I don`t know where you got the idea that I was "desperately" trying to "defeat" you. )-|
But this has been a rather confusing fifteen minutes about norms and societies and blasphemy (blaspheyou :-P) and all that good stuff.
Oh hey, you look more English in that one to me. Not that I would know what stereotypical English people look like.. Your pretty?
You stated that norms have to go by God.. "You don`t know what its views of "normal" are"I am arguing that they must go by society rather than by God.
that was a typo I promise dragon!
Argh! Forget it. Religion is confusing.
Because he desperately wants to defeat me?
Society still has norms, whether you want them to be God`s norms or not. The fact remains that in Christian thought there is still one God, so there can`t be norms among gods.
And every time I see people write, "Big ass [blah blah blah]," I always read it now as, "Big ass-[blahblah]." Heh. Thanks to this!
Oh, and new pic. :D With my dog making the "WTF?!" face. The flash scared the drat out of her. o_o
Without getting into a lot of statistics, or sociology, because neither is my area of expertise, I never said it is 100% fact because society is always changing, but it is really great evidence that there is a norm in society, and there is a point where its not normal. There is also a point where it is close to being acceptable or normal.. that point is what we were talking about. The question I can`t answer, which may come back to bite me, is if all of society got modified, would it be normal.. and would it be sin?
I would think no, but I am not God.
may not be 100% fact, but it is a great premise..
So you do admit it`s not fact. See, it`s just what we`ve been told to believe.
zira is trying to bait me again. lol
this will get her though.. alice is pretty also.
should we go back to puns? This is fairly entertaining hehe.
((I wrote that, and I hope you all know it`s a joke XD I`m dumb, but not THAT dumb))
YES SIR! *salutes*so how about that cat guy?!
Androgynous: I hate hide and seek. I always lose. :-(
But then the human part of me says: "drat it, it`s relieving boredom, and that`s the whole point. Carry on."
i know! i just sad i turned up the contrast...XD
dragonshadoz: then prove standard deviation wrong.. geeze arguing that there isn`t a normal or abnormal now?
You guys losing steam or something? lol=)oh and you are pretty neveryours. Even though that has nothing, or yet everything to do with this argument.
T.T im not though...i turned the contrast or something up so that my skin looked lighter but im wearing NO makeup!
Yes.. once again google : normal distribution.. or bell shaped curve.
are u talking to me? =(
Admit it Dragon, I saw`d you stare at a female with them eyes...with them eyes lookin` all fire filled. I saw`d it I did. :D
Well said. Just one thing to add as a footnote. That is that it is a Christian`s duty to witness. There is rules that apply to that; and loads of Christians that break them. I simply defend them.
Actually it isn`t.. google normal distribution.
But just in response to Androgynous again:I don`t wear make-up... so I guess I`m a lesbian. :-P
hahaha no im neither of those things...im just lazy... see in my pic im not wearing any ^^
Ha, and Androgynous, some people look the same (if not, better) without makeup. :-P
I wear make-up...but that`s probably the least of my problems in the "EYES OF GOOOOD"!Cause I have the illness. The really bad one.
I think it`s called "homosexuality" or something. :D
awww i dont wear make-up! u hurted my feelings! not really lol
lol so tell me where the point of crossing is between heavy mods and not. Is that not also fallacy?
...that was my point :-P
yes, your dress is badly made..
and another thing so since i wear earings and highlight my hair, im a blaphemous heathen damned to hell?
i dont think so
Sunday, October 05, 2008 5:34:06 PMyou`re all in denial, we are in a giant atom that is part of a table leg, or a dishcloth.. or a washin machine...or a cats brain....denial.
I keed, I keed.Love his teeth, actually.
Note: That was not aimed at you, but in general.
apparently not...although im doing more lurking than anything else...
dragon: and as a Christian, we don`t want you to suffer those wages of sin.. I thought that was somatic.
It is a big deal, because we (through faith) know what the wages of sin are.
19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God`s.
Had to bring that out for The Sharpest, who says it isn`t a sin. If you are a Christian you have to agree with this. Now, if you aren`t I can argue the logic with you. You can`t modify someone else`s body legally against their consent. Well, according to God, it is His body, therefore it is a sin to modify it.
Now there is one exception to this rule, and that would be healing. Healing is an exception in the fact that it can be done to glorify God. In cases where people use medicine to disprove God, it is a sin. Like if someone got a prosthetic and argued that science created something God could not, well that is an obvious sin.
And that`s all I`ll really go into that subject.
Yes, now I understand what you were saying. =)
I agree with you. A lot of my friends have colored hair, tattoos, and peircings. A lot of them don`t like going to church, or became atheists, because people tell them they`re sinful. The sad thing is, they`re really nice people that don`t deserve that.
I see what you`re saying. My interpretation of that rule in the bible is that what you do to your body shouldn`t be bad or obscene. Like, don`t get a tattoo of something nasty, or poison your body with drugs. I still plan on getting a tattoo, but I`m not doing it to offend God. I think if the intention isn`t bad, then it can be justified. But if it is still a sin, then I`ll certainly pray for forgiveness. I am, after all, only human.
It doesn`t have to be so literal.
That was the sarcasm bit.
A guy walks into a clinic and claims, "I am John the Baptist, and Jesus sent me here."
They take him to a room with a man sitting on a chair. He walks over to the man, and says the same thing, at which point the man stands up and says, "No, I didn`t!"
You know, we never saw them in the same room...
Nah, I like the free publicity. I don`t have to keep churning out new scripture for the sequel of the Bible that way.
I bet it`s better than a religious war though. Those must suck for him.
Yeah, `h`, not `H`. HA!
Ouch. Elkingo pulled out the capital "H".
I am God.
If I had a temple, I would make it look as badass ass possible according to me, so, more power to him.
I`m not arguing, I`m being an e-bully. Arguing is for people who know something or have anything against the person they`re insulting.
The original old question goes back to illness in the Bible. This one can easily be a short novel in explanation and debate, but I will try to limit it for ease of reading. The original question is who in a man`s family sinned to cause disease or dysfunction? In opie`s case, why did God allow her to be born without limbs? It isn`t that you sinned, and it isn`t that your family sinned. It is that so someone can have the opportunity to do work in the glory of God. I know that you have chose to debate God`s existence, and I won`t preach at you, and I won`t agree that it is fair for you to be in the state you are in. All I may do is offer the explanation, that it was done so that you may glorify God, like Job. It may not be fair by human understanding, but thats how God wanted it.
As for our cat friend here, he is a different case, because it is a sin to do such a thing to your body. The sin broke, is treat your body as a holy temple. Hope that helps.
Eh... not the same case at all. That`s a fallacy. They`re completely different cases which shouldn`t be treated as the same. And you know it.And Daniel, do not play the religion card. How the hell did "The Creator" got into this?
I bet you`re the kind of guy who wishes everyone looked exactly the same, because, you`re ugly irl.
I plan on getting a f*ckton of tattoos, got a problem with that? I hope not, I`ll slap a ho, maybe I`ll slap the ugly right off of your face.
It`s his body.
It`s my arm.
It`s thin and stringy and greasy and gross! D:
He probably just licks himself clean. :-P
