Singer Messes Up National Anthem, Slips On Ice

Submitted by: eugenius 8 years ago Funny

I"d say we should just forgo the singing of all national anthems at sporting events, but then we"d miss gems like this.

Aww she comes back with a little paper in her hand, how smart. I think falling down is less embarrassing than having to read the national athem...

I`ve seen this before and I think she is a big baby, most people just try and muddle through, then she embarrasses herself again and goes off like a 5 year old again

That is funny. Yeah, after screwing up like that she should`ve just walked away. Coming back and slipping just made the humiliation that much worse. She will NEVER live this down. N E V E R.

Poor love. :/ She went to all that effort to remember the first three lines, then when she went back to give it another go, she forgot she was wearing high heels..

O_o

Reminds me of the Eddie Izzard joke, where he says you don`t need to know the words, just look very passionate and make big gestures and people will go along with it. :-P

I think everyone is being a bit hard on her... she at least went back to try it again and the crowd was horrible. Kudos for her to even have the balls to get up there in the first place let alone try it more than once. Imo that one link from a week or so back with that spanish singer or whoever who sang it horribly was worse

"I really feel awful for this poor woman. Singing is a lot harder than it looks, even with well known songs, especially in front of big crowds. I can`t believe they booed her, that`s absolutely awful. I want one of them to try and sing a solo in front of hundreds of strangers who will know if you mess up. "

LOL, thats not hard at all. Try yelling drill commands in your third language (french) at a graduation parade with 1k people in the only french speaking province. Ive done it, not hard.

yea this video is old, but this would probably be the number one most embarassing thing in her life.

One:I`m sure she knows the words to the anthem but just forgot which order they go in during the spur of the moment.

Two: not only did she walk off, she CAME BACK infont of everyone and fell on her ass.

nothing can get more embarassing than this.

At least she got a chance to redeem herself later. They interviewed her on Good Morning America and then let her sing the Anthem again. Needless to say, this time she made sure she got it right.

@ElDavo. I doubt she is American, especially if she`s singing it in Canada. And she can prepare for things like that, but her nerves can get the better of her and make her screw up. I feel bad for her and I`m very pleased that she at least tried again.

@shizzam
The Montreal Maple Leafs (not to be confused with leaves...) is a team in the NHL. It`s still regulated that the NHL starts every game with the national anthem.

Also, seriously, why is she alive? I get maybe she was nervous, but how many times have you heard that song and you can`t remember the lyrics correctly? Even if you haven`t heard it too many times, maybe nt a sports fan, how do you not prepare before the game to sing it?
