Police brutality? Get out of the f*cking street, moron.

There`s pushing the envelope of democracy, and then there`s just shredding the damn envelope to shreds.

this is why socity is falling apart
people like the d*ck with the camera and his friends are making it harder for the police the people who try to protect you and other people who may be attacked from harm
the police acted rightly in not hurting anyone or paying any attation to the guy with the camera or his friends

Wow these guys really come off as dicks here - especially the camera dude. Wonder how quick quick that camera would go down his face in an actual police state. Still though this poo is gonna happen when you try to prevent legitimate protest and to move it away from the relevent events.

and even though they are being complete arseholes..in a way you should be glad that they can be, without getting shot.

If that makes sense...not that i agree with what they were saying or doing.

Why are people standing up in the name of "democracy" embracing such fascist tactics? Apparently there is only one correct choice on the ballot in November and you better pick the one they support.....or else.

Where did our liberals go and who are these nazi wannabe`s who replaced them?

"POLICE BRUTALITY, POLICE BRUTALITY!!! This is what a police state looks like!!!"

No, this is what it looks like when you impede traffic and cause harm to others. Those cops don`t know what you`re up to. They don`t know if you have a hand gun or a molotov roostertail, and you`re about to stop a vice presidential candidates motorcade???? What`d you expect to happen, morons? The police were just assigned to get said person from point A. to point B., they don`t give a poo who it is or what your opinions are on the matter. They just have a job to do like anybody else, and they`re going to do it.

Meh... protests are useless, they accomplish nothing.

Yet mabie if they had more people they`d get her to stop, and they`d rush the van and take her out once and for all.

There were only like 2 cops there.

Republicans are still morons though. All of them. There`s no doubt about it.

They mentioned free state. I think it is funny that they mention this, and are completely against the republican candidate, does the definition of free state include anarchy? or perhaps they only want a democrat to be a candidate.. either way they impede the freedom of others.

And all this time I`ve considered myself Libertarian due to (among other things) not wanting to live in "a police state," but if it only involves having potentially violent extremists temporarily detained in order to ensure the safety of otherwise innocents then I may have to rethink my position.

Yes they usually did, go to a university or a college though and there`s plenty here who would have cheered them on. That`s my whole point, just how much liberalism, the idea that everyone has an equal opinion and we must respect that has been warmed and twisted into, "we`re right and you`re wrong, do it our way or pay" which is Fascism.

All protestors? cos some of them just get their point across, and dont do poo like this... (getting in the way of a motorcade).
Which i think is healthy tbh, being able to express you opinio in a way that you know will get you noticed.. but without causing harm to anyone, those types of protests are good for people...

alice_x, there`s nothing healthy about doing something that looks like an assassination attempt, unless you consider a bullet in the chest healthy.

There are limits to freedom of expression, they have NEVER included denying someone else`s freedoms, like the freedom to travel freely. They could have protested at a close by spot and called their local media, it would have made the news.

Freedom of Speech is the right to express your opinion of something without getting slapped with a fine or hurled in jail for it.

Not the right to be an non-nice individual or an idiot. Many confuse this.

Alice, Any protestors who interrupt something they shouldn`t, stand in front of something that they know needs to be moved. If people want to stand at the bottom steps of a courthouse by all means, Freedom of speech. But doing something they know will get their ass kicked while people record it to make seem like this country is a "police state" is utter crap.

    starrstreet, Here`s what she wrote.

"i think is healthy tbh, being able to express you opinio in a way that you know will get you noticed.. but without causing harm to anyone, those types of protests are good for people..."

The way I interpreted that was that she believed that although this protest may have been wrong, stunts similar to this that get you media coverage and attention (or even a post on IAB.com) are perfectly healthy.

I disagreed with her on this and that`s why I posted, but I`m glad we both agree that this video and the people in it are idiots.

the protesters reminded me of the students here who protested against the war in iraq...

    in upstate new york...

350 miles away from washington dc...

and they marched on the street holding up traffic. then they got to some mall complex and started a fight with the cops (on video) and they started yelling "SHAME ON YOU! SHAME ON YOU!" when the cops arrested him, and "LET HIM GO!"

they protested the war AT the police. stupid people

These protesters should try to stop traffic in a more useful manner. For instance: In a warzone there are certain areas where bullets travel if you pay attention. They should all get together and try to stop the flow of bullets and other projectiles by standing in fron tof them. This way they would saving lives both of our enemies and our own soldiers. At least they would be helping somebody somewhere. LazyMe484... you mind heading that up? Thnx

Obstructing traffic is against the law, crossing the street without it being clear first is against the law. Freedom of speech doesn`t allow you to break laws.

I have noticed this trend is becoming way more popular then it needs to be. Douche comming from all over the united states to show support for Obama or to heckle the McCain campain in such innapropriate way that it may actually look bad for Obama.

They were complaining about it being a "free state" not a "police state," but at the same time they were attempting to hinder the McCain/Palin campaign using numbers and a somewhat peaceful form of force. Typical Democratic flip-flopping...

Let me elaborate because I`m not sure I explained it correctly:
In America, the system is created for the general population to decide the "best" candidate. While they argued about the fact that this is America so they should be allowed to protest, they tried to inhibit the system`s ability to function by stopping Palin from campaigning for a public office that she is on the ticket as a population-selected candidate.

Palin can barely put together a sentence or answer a question. Do you really think she knows how to give someone the bird. She couldn`t even answer a question from a 3rd grader about the position in office she is running for. She is the retard. That city must not have been American enough for her.

these protesters are retarded he said are we in a police state or a free state when the protesters were breaking the law which is they can protest all they want but they cannot interrupt the freedom of others. They were blocking the use of a public road therefor they are not following the constitution. besides that f**K sarah palin :D

    > socialism is bad right?

The trouble with politics is its too easy to make up labels like "democracy" and "socialism" to describe societies. If one of the Founding Fathers were to come forward in time and see the USA today, he would consider it a Socialist State because of the all-pervasive government involvement in almost every level of daily life. Its entirely possible for people to live in a dictatorship or communist state while still believing they are living in a democracy. The question of just *how far* your country has deviated from *real* democracy is one for each individual to answer for themselves, but *most* democracies today are very close to Lenin`s "perfect state", so its not an easy call.

Get a clue people. The police would have done this if was Obama and I would fully support them if they did. . You don`t block the road of the president, Vice President , or anyone running for those offices. IT puts undue burden on secert service. They don`t know the intentions of the people in that area and can not take the chance that there might be some crazy f^&k there. Ther is no time to be nice and gentle in situations like this.

Apple 18: Are you for real?? I mean for real-reals????

Wow... it realy is true that "perception is reality". In this case Apple 18`s perception is that the Police actually "Attacked" the protesters.

I am seriously not trying to bash you, I am simply in shock at how you can perceive them to be on the "attack". Your reasoning of these events falls short of practical and reasonable.

I urge you for the sake of my sanity and perhaps yours, to take a good look and try to use some objectivity when watching the video.

The fact that they weren`t shot is astounding!

I really don`t support Palin, but this is NOT the way to go about protesting. Making the whole world think that liberals/democrats are idiots is not helping your cause...

lol, i think you take my use of the word `attack` too seriously, splurby. its just from what ive seen, and from my personal experience, that no matter the situation, they just seem to jump on you.

its like, hey! how bout simply just escorting them out of the way? no? ooooooookay then. lets just grab on and force them...
