Know what I find scary?

Nukes.
---

On the contrary. If you`re close enough to witness the initial explosion, you`re blind afterward. The flash is so intense it causes permanent damage to your eyes.. inducing blindness. (Thus why you`ll often see old footage of soldiers standing around wearing welder`s goggles)

Personally, Nukes are amazing and offer a WHOLE new doorway into so many technological advances (good) in every day life.. but of course they can destroy you and this world in a flash..

Just think.. what destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki AND went off in the Tsar bomb... is the same energy, same reaction, same sequence that has fueled our existence here on the Earth because of the Sun.

FASCINATING!

The shockwave from the Tsar bomb was felt three times as it circled the Earth. That`s AMAZING. Such raw power..

Forget the laser gun I want a machine gun that shoots rocket propelled chainsaws that explode into radioactive Ginsu knives.

Know what I find scary?

Nukes.

Just look outside one day. Look at the horizon. And then try to picture a blinding flash, and once it disappeared, a giant mushroom cloud above it. Within seconds the shock wave will reach you and kill you...and there`s nothing you could ever have done to prevent it.

Scary poo.

Although some people have argued with me that a nuke would incinerate everything within a 100km radius....but i told them that the nuclear fallout might go that far depending on the winds, but they argued anyways...

Tsar Bomba ( King of Bombs) was the strongest atomic bomb ever detonated. Its actual yield was ~
100 megatons. By comparison, the USA`s strongest bomb is 20 MT> Our pooe is more accurate, but with that kind of yield, you can miss Burbank and still kill Seattle. You dig?

When are we gonna make some goddamn laser canons and lightsabers? Isn`t our technology advanced enough yet? I am so sick and tired of waiting...

"Russians could never be that precise, their bombs would explode kilometers away from their targets. So what they did, they made them SO huge, even if they`d miss by kilometers, they would still destroy their targets, as well as anything near them. "

Now THATS creative thinking!

Repost, and if you think this thing is scary you should see what we have with today`s technology that hasn`t been detonated.

The plane that carried that bomb was a TU-95. NORAD codename "Bear" (Bomber aircraft start with "B", such as "Bear", "Badger", "Blackjack"). There are different models/variations of that plane which gives it a suffix, "Bear-H", "Bear-J".

I knew the Bear had the ability to carry out a "Code Robert" hahaha.

I guess alot of people never took World History in highschool here.

The only reason we used a nuke on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, was because they flat out told us they weren`t going to give up.. I mean christ, they would rather kill themselves killing us than give up. So, rather than risking a ground assault, and having many more civilian and troop casualties than the nuke caused, we nuked them, and ironically probably saved quite a few lives. It is unfortunate for the ones who got caught up in it, but, that`s war for you.

I don`t count nukes as war... war is something that goes on a long time with "fighting". Nukes is just wimpy and lazy way wich means sitting back and pushing a button to kill 100,000`s of people who didn`t do anything. So I class it as "slaughter".

Also was that the guy from fith gear talking?

OH yeah, one of my teachers told me about this. The USA could make very powerful and accurate nukes, exploding just a few meters away from their designated target. Russians could never be that precise, their bombs would explode kilometers away from their targets. So what they did, they made them SO huge, even if they`d miss by kilometers, they would still destroy their targets, as well as anything near them. I think that`s what the guy was going to say at the end, before they cut him out.

ty651:

That would be puerto rico.

And you know, the fallout would probably screw over Connecticut and Massachusetts too, possibly New York and Maine. And we would still technically have 50 states, only on 3 of them there was no life. Kind of like Alaska.

dang, how much of one of the states do you think that`ll take out. I mean, if that was dropped on rhode island, then we would have to capture another completely random island in order for us to have a nice even 50 states

"HIROSHIMA A SHADOW BURNED IN TIME
NAGASAKI NAKED BABY MELTS ALIVE
BURNT FLESH AND RUBBLE FROM SEA TO DEAD SHORE
SUCH A HIDEOUS THEATER OF WAR"
And people STILL claim it was for freedom*. Melting babies alive doesn`t really spring to mind when you`re trying to be the "land of the free".

Oh, gandhi172`s link was awe-inspiring. And here`s me thinking the hiroshima explosion was big... that tsar bomb could probably take out the UK in one go.

*An ever-decreasing amount of people still think this way. Not saying that Americans all think that the bombings were a good idea, that and we have other people in the UK who think it was a good idea too >_>
