On the contrary. If you`re close enough to witness the initial explosion, you`re blind afterward. The flash is so intense it causes permanent damage to your eyes.. inducing blindness. (Thus why you`ll often see old footage of soldiers standing around wearing welder`s goggles)
Personally, Nukes are amazing and offer a WHOLE new doorway into so many technological advances (good) in every day life.. but of course they can destroy you and this world in a flash..
Just think.. what destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki AND went off in the Tsar bomb... is the same energy, same reaction, same sequence that has fueled our existence here on the Earth because of the Sun.
The shockwave from the Tsar bomb was felt three times as it circled the Earth. That`s AMAZING. Such raw power..
Just look outside one day. Look at the horizon. And then try to picture a blinding flash, and once it disappeared, a giant mushroom cloud above it. Within seconds the shock wave will reach you and kill you...and there`s nothing you could ever have done to prevent it.
Although some people have argued with me that a nuke would incinerate everything within a 100km radius....but i told them that the nuclear fallout might go that far depending on the winds, but they argued anyways...
Now THATS creative thinking!
Didn`t really realize how big that was until.. you pointed out that the tiny pixels in the corner were.
I knew the Bear had the ability to carry out a "Code Robert" hahaha.
YOU`RE RIGHT, WE NEED MORE DAMNIT, MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE.
The only reason we used a nuke on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, was because they flat out told us they weren`t going to give up.. I mean christ, they would rather kill themselves killing us than give up. So, rather than risking a ground assault, and having many more civilian and troop casualties than the nuke caused, we nuked them, and ironically probably saved quite a few lives. It is unfortunate for the ones who got caught up in it, but, that`s war for you.
You said it better than I could. My lord..
Also was that the guy from fith gear talking?
That would be puerto rico.
And you know, the fallout would probably screw over Connecticut and Massachusetts too, possibly New York and Maine. And we would still technically have 50 states, only on 3 of them there was no life. Kind of like Alaska.
Well let`s just hope some neo-nazi never gets near a big red button. Or, you know, Al Qaeda.
that was huuuuuuuuge
Oh, gandhi172`s link was awe-inspiring. And here`s me thinking the hiroshima explosion was big... that tsar bomb could probably take out the UK in one go.
*An ever-decreasing amount of people still think this way. Not saying that Americans all think that the bombings were a good idea, that and we have other people in the UK who think it was a good idea too >_>
Holy crap, if Hiroshima was that small, you could have wiped out all of Japan in one hit with the Tsar!
I hate to tell you this, but if even one nuke is launched in anger nowadays, the entire world is screwed. It won`t matter who has how many, or how big.
