Notice how he starts it off. the 4 blue squared in the corner never move so unless you have those 4 blue squares it would not work.

Too good to be true. I`m testing it right now, I`ll let you know if it works or not. My hypothesis: patthebaker is right, the cube needs to start off in a particular way.

Yeah, you`d need the four blue squares, two red lines and the four green squares before even starting. Or some combination of colors that lined up like that.

Yeah, it`s total BS. Btw, I`m a long time lurker here, I`ve gone to this site since I remember it even being up, but I never bothered to make an account.

This inspired me to. I do rubik`s cubes all the time, and all he did was just do left and up inverse until it appeared scrambled, then he just reversed that. I just tried it to make sure and it just does not work.

he took an already solved cube and did those 2 moves to make it look scrambled. then he starts recording and continues the 2 moves until it cycles all the way through and the cube is solved again. just because there is a 2x2x2 square does not mean u can solve the cube like this.

Actually, if you continuously follow a pattern (Like he did there, or any other) it will eventually bring you back to the same position.

Or he did what you said.

I saw the mythbusters do something like this where they just took a solved rubik`s cube and scrambled it, then reversed the footage. This guy could easily have done the same. I can`t blame the guy for making the video, though, i would want to see how many fools he got endlessly doing those moves for the rest of their lives.

Aaaaaaah ha. Anyone who can solve a cube decently knows that epicly false.
It only works if and only if the only two moves to scramble it were those (or something similar).
On another note, I have a hypothesis. If you scramble a cube with an algorithm, you can repeat it and have it solved eventually. This works as far as I know the simple ones. As for the really complex ones, (which are not used by speed solvers) I don`t know.

There are 8-9 sets of moves you have to do in order to the solve rubik`s cube. He is simply doing the last move which is Li, U or Left side counterclockwise, upper side clock wise. This is the last step. He is a jerk and knows this.

That might actually work on a 2x2x2 cube...oh wait...the bottom 2 pieces never move. I don`t see how a completely scrambled 3x3x3 cube could be solved with a repeat of 2 moves. Maybe possibly a series of 3 moves.....nope..still not solved.

    Sorry, not buying it....

Doesn`t take a person who`s actually solved one to know it was fake.

But in all actuality, solving a cube is actually very simple, and the algorithms needed for it require just a few tries until you have it completely memorized.

    "i thought it would be
    1- remove block(but not themiddle)
    2- put in the place"

Same. The middle can`t be moved.
To solve a 5 by 5 by 5, first ya gotta group the centers. Then group the edges. Then solve normal. With a bit a luck, you won`t need to use...prodigy algs? Can`t remember the name. I don`t even have a 5 by 5. D=

    1) Der... obviously it doesn`t work.
    2) Even if you found a series of moves that would definitely take the cube through each of its possible configurations, it wouldn`t just take "hours and hours" to solve it. At ~43,000,000,000,000,000,000 possible configurations, and say, just to be really generous, 10 moves per second (yeah, right), it would take you ~100,000,000,000 years, or comfortably longer than the age of the universe, to cycle through them all.

Stop with all the "algorithm" and "memorized" and all those big numbers! It`s confusing me.

I ACTUALLY DO have a method which solves the Cube in 2 moves, and I thought of it before this one!

    1. Fiddle with the damn Cube until you get a headache
    2. Throw it in the nearest bin while exclaiming "Frikit"

No way it can work!! Some blocks aren`t moving with these moves so they have to be placed by advance (has seen on the video!)

I tried this. I did the same exact move, and I started "at any position" like he said and it doesn`t work. He either started in a way that would allow that to work, or he is Satan and must be destroyed.

Haha it`s a joke to see how long gulible people will try the technique. It got me for like 20 minutes.

I thought for sure he was gonna says, "peel off two stickers and swap them, keep reapting these two steps, and you`ll solve the puzzle."

i agree it is a preppaired fake because at least three of the sides have a set of 4x4 of the same colour. i guess he probalaly did the reverse of the move beforehand

FAKE! ok, he has 4 squares under his thumb that would never move. he says you can do this from any sequence, so if the four under his thumb were different colors, he would never be able to solve it. And that is just looking at the side facing us.

not technicaally two moves its more like fifty but hey, its not like i can solve it in 95 seconds or anything (96) and its pretty obvious this is fake, especialy seeing as you can get it so no two colours the same are touching

this is stupid anyone can see the four blocks under his thumb arent moving at all. so therefore it won`t solve any cube in ANY position.
