Ok so it "Wasn`t a stripsearch" but they removed her clothes for reason. Seriously this is WHY people hate cops. Not all cops are bad don`t get me wrong they do their jobs like everyone else, but then you have these jackholes that do crap like this and really cause harm. She was assulted and then the cops assualted her. Ugh whatever. Just one more thing to hate about the world.

if i was her husband id go on a full blown GTA based killing spree. and the jail time would be worth it after what they did to her.

unless of course the video thats missing shows her doing something like shooting another cop with a gun she doesnt have.

Kudo`s for being completely Politically Correct! I mean how come its all "equal" treatment but then it has to be a woman cop who strip-searches females? Female officers are allowed to strip-search men but not vice-versa, and that`s what they call "Equality"?

"Female officers are allowed to strip-search men but not vice-versa,"

No they are not. Female officers are NOT allowed to strip-search men. Where did you get that idea? Haven`t you ever been through the airport?

Female officers search females, male officers search males.

The pigs in this video should have waited until there were enough female officers present to conduct the search, however, since there was ONE female officer there as a witness, and it was all videotaped, then obviously there was no sexual hanky-panky.

I am studying to be a Police Officer here in the united kingdom. My idea of of wanting to go into the police was triggered from seeing and hearing about unlawful and immoral. I want to go into this career to tackle things like what i`ve seen and heard.
But this has shocked me. What I`ve seen on this news report I cannot put into words. It`s distgusting horrific for that poor lady. I can`t believe I saw that, its beyond belief and I hope those police officers are brought to justice.

There was a miscommunication and a mistake made. If she had maybe explained herself and went willingly instead of resisting and screaming like she`s possessed, maybe this wouldn`t have happened. Strip searches are normal and of course they`re fully nude, it`s called a strip search for a reason. The guys present weren`t conducting the search either, they were just restraining what they knew to be an exremely unruly suspect. Goddamn.

Did it ever say what she did to deserve it? Maybe if she stabbed a cop in the leg with a hidden pen or something, yeah, go for the full strip search regardless.

    Otherwise that`s just ridiculous.

this video gives me the creeps. whether the cops were in the right or wrong, it still gives me the creeps to know that there are people basically violating me. i`m totally freaked out. it`s just like. ugh. *shiver* if people would just stop screaming and calmly speak. i do wonder why the camera was shut off. but the cops didn`t look like they were roughing her up. restraining, yes. roughing up? not so much.

After being assaulted, I imagine she was tired. She was also distraught. She supposedly leaned on the officer, which then he threw her to the squad car. Imagine being tired, sore and now being restrained by a cop, I don`t think you would be going easy. "I was just assaulted by my cousin, and now a cop, this seems right" and from what I saw, the males were also pulling the clothes off. Next time you try defending someone, use correct facts. Dick.

Pulling clothes off is not searching someone. There`s a little more physical contact involved in that. And wow, she`s tired, the cop`s still not at fault if she didn`t explain otherwise.

Uhmm, she wasn`t searched. So I am pretty sure pulling clothes off and leaving her there is some form of sexual harassment. And I`m sure if you got assaulted you wouldn`t be able to calmy state the situation. Especially if assaulted by a family member. I am positive (since she`s a woman ) that she was crying, and in a panic. The cop is trained to handle situations with as little violence as possible, so maybe he should have calmed her down instead of assaulting her.

What the hell? They said there was a strip search? No? Anyways, if she was in too much of a distraught, teary panic to be able to get the situation across to the officer, she probably wasn`t in the best position to be interpreting what was happening in a normal way. I`m sure the officer didn`t take a beat up woman and restrain her forcibly enough to be considered assault. He probably got her in a position of control and cuffed her, performed a quick search, and put her in the car. Yes, he should have calmed her down if she wasn`t, but you have to remember she was being viewed as a suspect, so there woulndn`t have been anywhere near as great an attempt as there would be otherwise. And if all they did was pull her clothes off then lock her in a cell for six hours, then yeah, that`s pretty drated.

No matter what kind of "misunderstanding" there may or may not have been...this is rediculous. Every one in that room should be put behind bars...for a long effing time. Like they said in the video, no matter what she did wrong, getting her clothes ripped off like that, by males and females, is unnacceptable, and should be punished.

To quote a guy from a video a couple weeks ago..."THEY GETTIN PAID!!!!!!!!!!!"

Watching that made *me* feel victimized. There is absolutely no reason to forcibly remove someone`s clothing, ever. How can the sheriff possibly say they went by the books when there were men in the room with her during the "search." And, he claims it wasn`t a strip search so for what reason did they pull off her clothing? That`s sexual assault plain and simple. I have no idea how the female officers could possibly participate in that and not stop what was going on. I`m sickened.

Cops are not going to haul off some innocent lady for no reason. They probably got there, and saw that the chick was HYSTERICAL. I bet they finally got sick of hearing her deranged, psychotic screams and cuffed her. Disturbing the peace and whatnot.
No matter how wrong cops are, YOU DO NOT RESIST ARREST. If you do, you deserve what you get. You will not make a good case for yourself by acting rabid. She looks like she has gone nuts and she clearly WAS resisting. And the reason that the policy for people to get strip searched by a person of the same gender exists ISNT FOR MODESTY, it`s to protect against rape. Which clearly didn`t happen. The cops dont care about her boobs, but she looks like she could be a danger to herself or others. Good call taking her clothes so she couldn`t do something wacky like hang herself with her pants.
There are two sides to every story, how about thinking past what the news station is telling you. Their JOB is to sensationalize stories like this.

Most countries have provisions in their constitutions that provide the public with the right to be free from "unreasonable" search and seizure. This right is generally based on the premise that everyone is entitled to a reasonable right to privacy.
The Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution ensures citizens` right to "be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Even if she screamed, yelled, resisted, whatever, are there people here who honestly think that this is how a person should be treated?

If a person is upset (for whatever reason) I don`t think it is normal behaviour to throw a person onto a car, tear of her clothes while filming her.

If they just tried to calm her down and talk to her, things like this wouldn`t happen.

Haley WTF? You must be one of the most retarded people I`ve ever encountered on these forums. I hope for the world`s sake that you are never allowed to procreate. And in fact I believe you and any relatives of yours that have an IQ close to your single digit should be taken into a gas chamber to rid the world of your (hopefully not) infecticous inability to reason and for the most part just being a dumb ass.

You DO resist arrest in these circumstances. Of course she was acting hysterical. In fact, I`d like to see you get held down and stripped without cause and not complain. I mean you`d probably be happy just to have someone`s hands on your body that weren`t your own but most people aren`t as lonely or deranged as you.

Good call on removing her clothes? Sure dumb ass, I`m sure they`re so worried about someone that isn`t under suspicion of attempted suicide is going to kill themselves via her levis.....

This was a violation of policy and rights, there was a reason they were strip searching her but it (the reason) wasn`t legal I can assure you of that. The cop at the scene neglected his duty to collect facts before acting and even by not having his dash cam on he can be held under more neglect.

Even if I were to go along with the "suicide prevention" reason then her underwear would have no reason to be removed, it`s highly doubtful she could hang herself with bra/panties.

OK. I can see a situation arising where a domestic dispute has escalated to the extent that all participants needed a cooling off period for a couple of hours in the slammer so that the cops could get to the bottom of the situation properly and calmly. I don`t really believe that the woman called the cops and when they arrived sank gratefully into their arms only to be slammed against a car and arrested - I should think that when the police got there the situation was already way out of control.

However, I stop understanding this when the `male and female cops forcefully strip her naked and leave her naked for 6 hours` part happens. Unless she had specifically told them that she intended to hang herself with her shoelaces as soon as they weren`t looking or something, that was completely unnecessary and humiliating. And even then, there are ways to do that sort of thing that aren`t so... violent.

that mentality is why so many cops are pigs. they`re job is to protect citizens, they can`t just get pissed off and arrest someone because they`re annoyed by them. and i love how you added the whatnot to the end of that sentence. just frivolously choose a charge that might potentially stick. there are few people i respect more than a good cop, and unfortunately they are few and far between, but i absolutely hate pigs. these guys are put in a position of duty and service to the community and pervert it into a corrupt system of power and authority.

Haley, so you`re saying that because they are authority figures, we should never question their actions? What, are you freakin` insane? I would be screaming as much as this woman. Sure, we don`t know what all happened, but we do know a little something about group mentality and how people respond when told to do something by an authority figure, whether it`s right or wrong. I have a lot of respect for cops. They put their lives on the line everyday to protect us. But they`ve clearly stepped out of bounds here.

Well, I can sympathize for those that have to rely on themselves for protection and I definately support gun ownership. We own one ourselves, but I for one am happy to let police, who are trained for this line of work, do the majority of the protection. I`m glad that I don`t have to constantly stand vigil over my property and can devote my time to my interests. I wish it were that way with everyone.

How I think it went down up until right before she was stripped.
911 call, etc. Police come. Woman is in a panic and rushes to police car. Probably grabs onto a policeman and practically collapses. Police pick her up but she starts struggling madly because of her state of shock. Police ask her to calm down. She freaks out. Police ask her to go downtown with them to ask her a few questions. She freaks out even more thinking that they`re arresting her. She resists and flails. Police ask her for ID, she gives her deceased sister`s ID. At this point the police is through trying to get a straight answer out of her in her state of mind and tries to escort her to the car. She resists. They pin her against the car and cuff her and downtown they go.
Dash cam? Probably forgot to turn it off or something.
Now, as for the missing video from the handheld camera and the reason they decided to leave her naked for 6 hours? That`s anyone`s game, and the cops are probably losing it.

That wasn`t a strip search, it was a rape. It`s unconscionable and obviously a violation of her rights. I would contend that she has the RIGHT and the DUTY to resist such behavior. Who on earth WOULDN`T!?

At this point we ALL have the Right and Duty to resist an arrest of this sort. Obviously there are parts being omitted, we need the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth, I I were to pass judgment on only what I have seen, I would say the Sheriff`s Department has brought it`s self and fellow law enforcement organizations a monumental dishonor.

It`s hardly rape, there`s a woman involved in the search.

I think the woman is over-reacting, I mean she IS screaming like it is rape, which makes most of you believe she is the rape victim. But to me, it`s likely that it`s not rape at all, simply an over-aggressive strip search.

And I`ll point to your inability to spell as a direct reference to your intelligence.

Jimmer1720: by definition it`s not rape, however, it is a clear violation of rights without cause for the search and even so a strip search is NEVER conducted by holding someone down with SEVERAL officers, much less the opposite sex. Also most strip searches do not require all garments to be removed. Learn before you speak.

Matsuri_aka: actually even with the furthest stretches of the mind it`s impossible to come up with a scenario that would involve the cops being called for a disturbance, arresting the wrong person, strip searching them forcefully, while recording it with a hand held camera and then leaving that person naked?

there was a woman cop there so they werent raping her or anything. they have to use a camera to record it for evidence. and if she is resisting, cops will not hesitate to use more force. before you go to jail you need to get a cavity search which involves getting nude. she obviously freaking out and they thought she was the troublemaker so it was just mistaken identidy. if she actually did something wrong then people would think this bitch is just freaking out

"Liquidglass: "And I`ll point to your inability to spell as a direct reference to your intelligence."

Is that honestly the best you can come up with as an argument? Would you say the same about your inability to properly use punctuation?"

Well actually I used proper punctuation, you might want to look up your rules. Dumb ass.

So if the best you`ve got is a fictional reason keep your mouth the way it belongs: shut.

I`d like to know what prompted them to treat her as a suspect. There has to be more to the story here.

It looks to me that the only real, proven issue here is that males were strip searching (or, at least, stripping) a female. That is a big deal, but everything else is up in the air.

Liquidglass: Sorry, but you`ve failed again. This time with incorrect use of grammar as well. Want to try for a third time?

What`s the issue here? If you actually look at all source it comes out she was violent, intoxicated and she refused to do anything. They had strong proof she was suicidal and therefore removed her clothing (because you can strangle yourself with clothing, if you didn`t know that you`re most likely retarded).
