So sad but cute at the same time.I think I have something in my eye...
But for a child so young...that can feel like 7 years. AND as you can tell he loved his father very much. And his father was in the war he was probably worring that he`d never come home. Shove your words up your @$$ for that comment and get a heart for the kid he missed his dad get over it.
For those of you who say you "don`t care", try imagining your parent deployed for months at a time. My dad is in Iraq right now, and when he finally comes home it will have been a year. I worry every day that he won`t come home.
It`s not about America(FireEmerald), it`s about the kid.
I was a military brat as well. My Dad was in the Navy (USA) for 25 years, he retired when I was 19. He went to Iraq twice before he retired. Honestly, I don`t truly believe that you`re a military brat. A true military brat would be happy to see ANY father/mother no matter what country they`re from come home to their family. I still cry when I see other fathers and mothers come home, I cry when I see them come home when they are in the military for other countries. It`s all about that common thread--as military brats, we want our father/mother to come home, and seeing others get what we want/have is an emotional moment.
When you say `We don`t care about bush` etc I assume you mean Australia. I don`t want to be mean but how the hell would a 13-17 year old girl know the opinions and views of 21 million people?
And `show me an Australian and i`ll be happy`?Shouldn`t the Americans then have the right to say show me an American, if you have the right?Especially if it`s `Their Fault`.
Please don`t be idiotic and illogical. Just state your opinion unbiased.
That`s funny... it seems to me that much of the world revolves around this whole financial thing going on. (but, granted I don`t think we are the sole cause of the current financial state of affairs so i will let this point go) Everyone likes our movies and we contribute greatly to science and technology. The entire world benefits from that as well and they try to emulate it. Unfortunately when it comes to war... it`s not "What have you done for me" it`s "what have you done for me LATELY". People don`t ever seem to wanna give credit where it`s due. For instance, I respect the hell out of Canada for their heroic help on D-Day. Without them it would have been tough. I`m a Marine and I recognize this. It`s not all about the US... but we are the major player. We are not sorry about it. If Australia doesn`t want to be allies then man-up and don`t be. You should be thankful you don`t s
And to the Australians complaining: It`s not about a U.S. soldier coming home, it`s about a little boy who was missing his dad, and probably got the surprise of his life. I`d feel the exact same warm fuzzies regardless of what nationality, race, etc the people were.
maybe it was a piano made out of heart strings???
I guess he understands the point of the video
I`m going to be blunt from an American point of view,
We are not the reason you are here, your government made that decision to come here, you were not forced, the decision was not made by a 13-17 year old child, we have 5,000 troops to every one of yours here, none of us get a "warm fuzzy" feeling about watching our loved ones die in Iraq, we don`t give a s_hit if you don`t "support" USA or the war or Bush, and most of us don`t "support" the war either.
You should think things out more clearly before you open your ignorant mouth.
From the daughter of an soldier in Iraq.
I think you missed the point, lionpussy is just an non-nice individual like yourself. It has nothing to do with the world revolving around USA. The guy is just a dic
good to see another troop homesafe. hows about the rest now?
uh... why the f*ck should he... he`s Australian. I know its hard to believe but the world doesnt revolve around America... in fact, geologically speaking, itd be pretty f*ckin catastrophic if it did.
Yeah, they dont talk about that bit a lot.
and furthermore, lionheart you`re a (very impolite word here)
What a coincidence, I am a soldier too, a marine in case you didn`t know. I don`t believe that you are actually a soldier, I have never heard a soldier wish death on another fighting on the same side. Maybe they should have burnt you on a stake when you got home. Get bent
But I was *ahem* "Bawling" my eyes out when I saw that. Poor kid...
I *AM* a soldier returned from Iraq, Australia was part of the "Coalition of the Willing" in case you didn`t know. Having been there, I can tell you we had no right to be there. It was a classic case of Occupation. And it was all about the oil, nobody ever believed there were WMDs there. SNAFU.
and i shed a teaer or two :]
(Let the flaming begin)
im guna need tissuesDAMMIT!!
888th post w00t
You should know that your statement is full of high hopes. Not trying to start any type of flame war here or who ise better for president debate... just saying... it doesn`t matter who gets elected. We will stay there for years to come. Even the anti-war mongers know this. If you don`t believe me now... you will. Just remember this message about five years from now and you will see.
not gunna lie.
the music just made it worse
if you don`t care why watch it, the title made it pretty clear what was gonna happen
I tried so hard not to!!
I can`t wait til my husband comes home from Iraq...24 days left :D
This reminds me of that video with the little girl singing about her brother over in Iraq.
If I watch that every day I won`t ever need eye drops again.
Yes you are empty inside, douche
Hopefully the war will be over soon so hid dad can spend time with him more often.
Also, enough with this "I don`t care" nonsense. I bet all of you who say that would feel the same as the kid if you were in this scenario.
That boy and his father are incredibly lucky; as is my family. My Dad went to Iraq twice before he retired and thankfully came home both times. For those of you who don`t care, I`d like to see you grow up in the military, be only 7 years old and know the harsh reality that when you see your parent off to a deployment that could be the last time you see them.
i dont think its rude, he just trying to show others his experience.
We had a going away party and my Dad came up from NC as a surprise and the reaction was somewhat like that.
But this kid has definitely got a reason to be much happier, I`m happy his father is safe and sound.
And come on Nidonemo, I know its war, and I know there are way too many children without fathers because of it, but in relative terms of other wars, Iraq isn`t terribly violent at all. Especially now, you probably have a greater chance of dying in DC than in Iraq.
Nevertheless, it could of happened, but it didn`t. And there are rightly so a lot more `Awws` in the world because of it.
And to those who wrote that you "don`t care`: that`s pure B.S., if you REALLY didn`t care, you wouldn`t have bothered posting that you don`t care; you`d have just moved on to the next video like I`m sure those who truly didn`t care did. Tools.
now i have to reapply my makeup for school >_<
I really hope they get those troops out soon...
Seriously, that made me just bawl!!
...and that`s all I will say.
