"Because I used a mirror to take a picture of myself, I`m a moron? It really sounds like your desperate for something to insult me on."
I wasn`t *trying* to insult you, but if you consider it as much, I suppose that`d be a bonus. I only gave my reasons why I don`t feel you have sh*t to say to me, so cheerio, sod off, ole chap.

"If you haven`t read any of my other posts over the past 2 years, I tell EVERYONE to shut the f*ck/hell up"

So, let me get this straight. You`re trying to justify calling me out on essentially calling you a moron (although I much prefer `fatuous ninny`; it has a purer ring to it) by suggesting it`s okay to tell me to shut the f*ck up because you do so to everyone? I... for the second time since my time on here, I`m at a loss for words. Pat yourself on the back, my friend. Such inanity is the stuff of legends.

Damn. THAT was epic.
While I don`t generally condone killing (as most wouldn`t..) I DONT agree with IEDs, no matter WHO uses them. Reason being they kill civilians.. not just military enemies. To which they are disgusting. Dudes got what they deserved.

BUT DAMN! See the guy`s torso rolling away... holy crap.

We call that a misunderstanding then, Overmann.

I wouldn`t be happy that I was killing someone regardless of who it was, but I would be happy that they are the ones dead rather than me or my friends.

So, let me get this straight.. Because I used a mirror to take a picture of myself, I`m a moron? It really sounds like your desperate for something to insult me on. It`s alot easier to get a good picture if you can see what you look like while the picture is in the process of being taken.

If you haven`t read any of my other posts over the past 2 years, I tell EVERYONE to shut the f*ck/hell up, even if I agree with them, I`m a very sarcastic person and I guess you can`t really judge that over text.

" you really think I care what some guy over the internet thinks about my display play picture?"

Clearly you care enough to let some guy over the internet serve as a catalyst for your action but honestly, I don`t really give a sh*t what your avatar is. I just pointed out that I don`t feel wholly compelled to, as you put it, "shut the f*ck up" when told to do so by a moron who uses a mirror to take a picture of himself.

"let`s not forget, you`re the one who decided to insult me about my display picture."

While still conveniently forgetting that your own uncouth remarks preceded mine? Ha. Nice argument you have there, RyanF701.

"I wouldn`t be happy over murdering them..."

You should have been more clear. You said:

"I`d be pretty happy too if I... was in the process of killing someone..."

...which suggested, to me, that you would enjoy it.

I`m just going to be my self arrogant douche and copy paste quotes from the internet:

The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations. ~David Friedman

The ability and inclination to use physical strength is no indication of bravery or tenacity to life. The greatest cowards are often the greatest bullies. Nothing is cheaper and more common than physical bravery. ~Clarence Darrow

Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime. ~Ernest Hemingway

You can no more win a war than you can win an earthquake. ~Jeanette Rankin

We kill because we are afraid of our own shadow, afraid that if we used a little common sense we`d have to admit that our glorious principles were wrong. ~Henry Miller

Wow don`t have an orgasm or anything; I was being funny, you really think I care what some guy over the internet thinks about my display play picture? I haven`t changed it in about a year and a half and you gave me a good reason to, just to humor myself.

let`s not forget, you`re the one who decided to insult me about my display picture.

"Relieved? Sure, understandable. But happy? Does it really sound perfectly sane and appropriate to you to delight in the death of others and enjoy killing them, regardless who the others may be?"

I wouldn`t be happy over murdering them, I`d be happy over saving myself and my comerades.

Yeah, but then that`s what Islam`s for, or any hard-felt traditional belief that basically dictated any other belief is wrong. The world is still shrugging off the chains of religion, but the Middle East is having the worst go of it right now.

"Bloodthirsty moronic Americans was all I saw in that video. >:(

Oh did you not see the bloodthirsty moronic terrorists?

What I hate most about people`s perception of the war is that they act like we`re the bad guys. Admittedly, we`re not there for the right reasons and the war is a logistical nightmare, especially now that the economy is collapsing, but you can`t forget that we`re liberating these people from genocide and torture, and giving them the gift of democracy.

Another thing, why is it that the people who complain most about the war are the ones who it affects least? My sister, and 2 brother in-laws were/are deployed in Afghanistan and they know that what they`re doing there will benefit the afghani people. Often times missions there are simply humanitarian in nature and in the case that they do end up having to kill people it will most often save lives

These people go out in the streets everyday, and stare down the cold eyes of those that would see them dead and often do. The lose friends and sometimes family to these people. These fine soldiers often have their hands tied with insane politically driven rules of engagement that wont allow them to act unless they have a bullet hole in themselves. And even then, its not clear who the enemy is, and often leads to courts martials of honest men and women who were only defending themselves. Until you have served this country and walked in the shoes of these men and women, you have absolutely no right to condemn or judge them in anyway. Life is hell over there folks, and the only way a person can keep their sanity is to take enjoyment in the small things in life. If thats a couple of their enemies biting the dust then so be it. War is war, there is no rule of proper ettiquet for one to conduct victory celebrations.

So there seems to be some hoop-la here about how some guys were happy about some insurgents getting killed. Well after casting a glance at those particular posters here, it catches my attention that they are either not from this country (ergo probably not involved in this war, or opposed it from the onset) or too young to be in it in the first place, and finally probably never imagined to enlist and participate. To those of you, i would ask to kindly shut your F.U.C.K.I.N.G mouth. You have no idea what these men and women are going through over there. 16+ hour days patrolling streets filled with people that want to kill them. Just so they can get a little money to go to college and provide a better life for themselves and families. Dont mistake me, i am not in favor of this war, and never have been, but having served my country for 14 years I am in the unique position to appreciate their sacrifices. Unlike many of you here.

Yeah it`s real, and, it wasn`t only 2 guys, it was also a few IEDs, not just one. If you listen to the transmissions you hear them say they BOTH have some material and if you watch em they both take turns burying things. Better 86k down the drain than having to buy a new humvee or tank, and then having to pay the debts to the families of those who died in the explosion from the IED.

Well, excuse people for thinking explosions and blowing people trying to KILL OUR TROOPS up is awesome. Next time we`re attacked by terrorists, we`ll let you do the thinking for us, alright?

Why was it a lame rebuke? There`s nothing to miss in that statement, she said that the guys who killed the insurgents were bloodthirsty Americans, how DARE they try to save lives by killing the ones who are trying to kill our soldiers huh?

I guess it now makes you bloodthirsty to retaliate to an attack, who knew. I`m all for live and let live, but "letting me live" goes along with that statement, and they weren`t letting people live, so, they don`t get to anymore.

So, in conclusion, both of you kindly shut the f*ck up.

Remote controlled high altitude blimps loaded with the same tech and weapons would be a silent, effective way of killing off these kind of scumbags. Multiple units could be controlled from the same facility saving money and lives. Operations could go as long as 78 hours without the need to maintenance units. Perhaps the Airforce should talk to the boarder patroll about there blimp.

Back before my injuries that halted my Military training and eventually got me discharged our Drill Instructors used to show us videos of stuff like this when our "classroom lessons" ended early.

The stuff they showed though was too dusty after the attack to see the bodies making us assume that they where vaporized so I wasn`t expecting the body to fly out like that and I was like "OMFG HE"S STILL ALIVE" then I noticed that he didnt get up and run so I was like "YAY he`s dead, no more IED planting for him"

Seriously though I`d wish they stop being morons and realize the sooner they stop the sooner we get out.. and hopefully the next president stops trying to rebuild other countries poo and focuses on fixing ours.

"No, it doesn`t. We aren`t doing very well are we? All the superior tech we have does very little in such a war."

Our air superiority is doing exactly what it needs to do, and has done so in each phase of this war. Before the insurgency, it supported ground troops in an unprecedented victory. When it transferred to the Insurgent War they have applied countless precision strikes which continue to save lives on the ground. Exactly what air support is designed to do.

We retrofitted from a relatively conventional war to an insurgent war with our Air Force and continue to see results. From its infancy, the Angels on our Shoulders have operated mostly in a support capacity. From what I have seen the support our air superiority has given the ground troops has been immense. I challenge you to refute that statement.

@patthebaker: maybe it did cost $29K each to kill them, but it saved the lives of at least 4 american soldiers and a humvee+ equipment.

If you really want cold, heartless money values for the savings, it saved at least $400K for each service member (SGLI payout) + ~$250K in equipment, or $1.85M in costs.

$58K invbestment with a $1.27M return.

" lets have some respect for life for those who have none." Haven`t a clue what this is supposed to mean.
" I`m sorry but [email protected] those who try to kill indiscriminately anybody they can"
That`s the problem though, that kind of thinking is exactly why this poo has to happen. Besides, that comment would be better aimed toward our effort, considering the ridiculous amount of civilian casualties. There`s also the argument that the mines were intended for American soldiers, a foreign occupying force. Mind I`m not saying they deserve it. Then I suppose you could say something about 911, but there`s no connection. There`s a lot to consider, but the internet is hardly a place for nuance or discussion of anything other than black and white morality.

And a missle will blow up no matter what you do, that wasn`t that big of an explosion either. What else can you do, ya know?
0

Male 231
Not even overkill. The explosion was the missile plus the IED. You need to use a missile in that scenario to make sure you have a wide enough kill radius because you don`t know exactly where the bomb is. Miss it, and a whole truckload of people could die. IEDs are nasty.
