How about you dress in some slacks and a dress shirt for your court appearances. Can`t be that difficult. Three days is a bit harsh but you don`t dress "adorable" to go to a court hearing. You dress like your taking it seriously.

Ya, poor choice on that woman`s part. I don`t know what she was thinking when she chose her "adorable" outfit while getting ready for her court hearings. HOWEVER, three days? That`s ridiculous. A judge should not put someone in jail because of their more liberal appearances. It was a very harsh sentence, in my opinion.

I wonder what got her in court in the first place. Also, she said the judge told her twice before to change her wardrobe. OK, first of all she`s an established criminal with a ton of charges. Second, if she was warned before you`d think she`d figure it out. Of course if she was very smart she wouldn`t have ever been in front of the judge in the first place.

I know a lawyer who told a client to "dress like she was going to work" for court. She forgot her client was a hooker... : )

Anyway, if a judge says you shouldn`t wear a tanktop, it isn`t because you should be wearing a bra with it, it`s because you are an idiot and clearly can`t tell by yourself what to wear to court.

I hope she reads this comment section and realizes how dumb she is.

Stop getting arrested with drugs, harassment, and running over tombstones, and no one will give a darn about what you wear.

I feel the need to comment for the two people who are freaking out about her driving through a cemetery. I`m not sure how things work where you are, but here there are paved roadways that wind around in cemeteries. You drive on them so that you can get to different areas because sometimes cemeteries can get really big.

unless there is a sign outside court prohibiting certain kinds of garment or telling you exactly which pieces of skin you are allowed to expose the judge should just shut up! She was warned for a tank top, she thought no bra that`s why, wrong could have been the wrong colour for all she knows! Judges have too much power, no woman should be able to send another to jail for not liking her outfit!

This girl is stupid. You don`t dress "adorable" for court when you have some serious charges against you. You dress like an adult and show some respect for the court. Yes she went to prison but for 3 days, hardly a long stint. It wasdone to teach this idiot a lesson seen as she ignored verbal warnings.
Although the fact that she`s going to get saggy breasts for not wearing a bra is probably a great punishment.

I notice she wasnt wearing her shorts for the news team...

The thing is, when you`re in a courtroom, you`re expected to be respectful. Not just in word and action but also in appearance. Face it... Short shorts are NOT respectful, no matter which judge you`re in front of. She needs to stop her crying over it and find some decent clothing to wear to court.

Either that or stop breaking the law!

    She`s an idiot, but....
what legal authority does the judge have in relation to clothing worn in the court room? Surely, issues of respect for the courts aside, no LAW has been broken, if the clothing in question is legal on the streets, ie meets the legislated standard of morality for the community in question, then surely the judge has limited authority in regard to this. Would she send a man to jail for wearing a pink shirt, because she doesn`t like pink on men? Does she have the LEGAL authority to tell a man not to wear a pink shirt? No. How is that different to the shorts? Its not. (and from what was being said, and gestured, the shorts weren`t exactly short shorts. From her description, more like mid thigh.
Doesn`t change the fact the woman is obviously an idiot. But the judge is obviously one also.

Luckily this judge wasn`t male-then there would be real hell. Throw away the key, and hope this shows all the parents who buy their three year olds mini skirts and high heels. Buttersrules:

It`s called contempt of court. A specific action or manner of dress may be perfectly legal. However, within the context of a courtroom, a judge has the right to legally decree such a thing as contemptuous (or disrespectful) to the court, thus illegal in that context.

After 2 prior warnings, this bimbo deserved a few days to learn who makes the rules in court. She`s an idiot.

This is how you don`t get picked on by the judge anymore:

Stop doing things that get you infront of the judge. I can`t believe she`s asking the county to accomodate her demands. It`s not the county`s fault she keeps ending up infront of a judge who hates her.

Does that mean when/if you get married, your bride`s maids can wear t-backs and acrylic platform heels if they want to? It`s a free country!

Never got to see the outfit. I`m disappointed.

Btw, the constitution never granted you the freedom of what you can wear. There could be people in the military that don`t like their uniform 100%. But hey, that doesn`t give them the right to run around in flashy sandals and a Prada bag when active.
And yes there are laws for what your can wear, a.k.a indecent exposure.

Going into the court shouldn`t require written signs to be posted about what to wear. The fact you walk into the courthouse should give you some sort of clue like a red light gives you the clue to `stop`. Even illiterate people get the idea.

Dumb as this woman may be or not, the punishment does NOT fit the crime. Crap like this cheezes me off so much that a judge can rule however they want and sometimes it`s absolutely rediculous. I hate most judges cause of this, and the fact that they think they`re tough whiz.

Oh my goodness, she seems more concerned about her clothing than her charges. Though I agree that there are some sadistic judges out there, she should`ve dressed more consertative.

I think the law fails to factor in the very important point that she is old and ugly.

    3 days? only?

We should legislate an ugly tax! Where if you are ugly and wear revealing clothes you are punished.

Still....you shouldn`t wear "Cute" clothes to court. You are supposed to look a certain way when you are in courtIT`s common knowledge. But throwing her in jail for it seems to be a bit too much when she`s obviouslyh already in trouble for more serious charges.

My point is, where is the line drawn at what is contemptuous and what is not? My problem with this is that it is the judges OPINION that the clothing was disrespectful, and that the opinion of the judge is not based on law. I take issue to the fact that it is a subjective opinion, with no oversight, as opposed to an objective opinion based on legislation.
