i don`t like ratm`s style of music, but however if they made a song about turning the batons, tear gas, and rubber bullets at the jacka$$es at the RNC i`d blast it from every speaker in my house.

Considering how bad they sound even there, I`m not surprised they weren`t allowed to perform.

Awful.

I`m going to sound like a douche but I don`t really like Rage Againt the Machine. I used to when I was younger, heard all their songs and then grew up with the same songs played over and over again on the radio to the point of me wanting to rip out my ear drums and throw them out the window.

They weren`t bad, they still aren`t bad but they annoy the crap out of me now.

Why is Tom Morello always wearing the same shirt? sure its his thing, but come on...

Anyway, this is pretty cool. although the song sounded happy without the music, when they were all just chanting it along.

Im gonna listen to RATM now. and Tom Morello is a great guitarist, he just hasn`t been doing anything new as of late.

Nico, I didn`t see anything like this happen at the DNC

It just seems sort of unfair that everyone`s happy about this, yet if anything had happened at the DNC everyone would`ve flipped out

Oh well, the point is Tom Morello isn`t a good guitarist.

That was nice. I remember hearing awhile back that this generation is "too attached to their iPods" to do any protesting. I`m glad to prove them wrong. ;)

Somebody please tell those "morons" ( Eugenic version of the word ) that they stopped being popular a decade ago. Find a job or kill yourself but dont try a comeback.

God I hate Republicans and their used car sales religiousity and their mindless brainwashed narrate em` verbatim talking points that the retarded right wing quotes continuously with this hive mentality that does not allow individual thought. Jesus Christ, Joseph McCarthy..anyone? anyone? Tailgunner Joe, the man Karl Rove called " sacred, and almost as inspirational as Jesus". F#ck these dinosaurs, extinction for the Republican party is near, I hear the comet coming and it has "youth" written all over it.

they weren`t canceled. They were in town for a show the following night. They heard about the protesters at the RNC and thought they should crash and perform on the stage. The protesters permit to have concerts expired around the time RATM arrived. no dice. so the RATM fans that came to watch them merged with the other douchbag protesters screaming and breaking things marching to the RNC. time for the hippie strength tear gas

Right because The Beatles were a shining example of political prowess compared to Thomas Jefferson...

You say you want a revolution
Well you know
we all want to change the world
You tell me that it`s evolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don`t you know you can count me out, in
Don`t you know it`s gonna be alright

well i think mr. Lennon and mr McCartney would disagree with you there queen.

"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable
than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations pursuing the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government and to provide new guards for their future security"-
Thomas Jefferson Dec. of Independence
I think ol` TJ might disagree w/ you Opie! :)

"What a joke. My favorite line: "I suspect some of [the cops] may be from working class backgrounds...just like us!" Like any of these douchebags are working class. Working class ain`t got no time or money to be wasting in Minneapolis on ineffectual liberal bullpoo like this. But hey, they all left feeling better about themselves, right? Like they`ve really made a difference, right? And isn`t THAT the most important thing!"

Are you serious? You quoted the video yourself...He says "working class backgrounds." "Backgrounds" meaning past. Meaning not present. I believe, kind sir, that YOU are the douchebag.

Is anyone else starting to think that the whole anti-government anti-"the man" and anti-society is starting to get a little... repetitive?

Radical groups become powerful, overthrow governments, replace the previous power, gain more power, and go on to become the same corrupt governments.

I remembered something that just makes this more ironic. I think the first day of the RNC they had a band called "Hookers and Blow" come and play.

Just, fyi, (I don`t think it was posted anywhere else) the concert was canceled because it was never really planned. They were crashing the RNC

Reminiscent of that time in the 80`s when reagan`s team forbade the beach boys from playing at one of their conventions b/c "We don`t allow THAT kind of music here."

As much as I love rage, that was a terrible sing along. *cringe*

Nice idea and intention though
