Pretty skinny on the magic arguments. Well of course people who pirate games and music are going to justify themselves, and because they need to convince themelves the most, they spend a lot of energy doing it. But its all crap, people steal this stuff because they can, not because of any of this other baloney that they write.

Well you seem to have a bright outlook on life there, Odigon.

I thought this was going to be some video of how a little kid discovered his love for pirates... this was alright too.

If they called it something less cool then pirating, less people would do it. They should call it gaying.

    "Hey Craig, whatcha doing?"
"Oh, Just gaying this new album Metalica dropped"

"Here, I just made a better game for all you pirates"

A good "pirate" has no mercy and will not accept anything until they have completely drained you of your will to live.

    Pirating sounds cool.

But, Illegal downloading sounds dangerous, and dangerous always gets the chicks.

    Gaying is already a word.

"Gaying; to gay, to perform the act of actually purchasing a Metallica album, with real money"

I saw the title and thought it would be about wooden legged, eye patch wearing pirates. Not THAT kind of pirate. What a letdown.

The guy had a good idea to go ask the pirates why they do it, but it won`t change anything. Most people already know why they do it anyway. They`re too cheap to spend the money on the games or they think it`s a thrill to steal them.

he makes A good point, better quality and less drm would sure as hell make me pirate less. take spore for example, its screwed... the drm infested retail version crashes and ea hasnt even released a patch, where as my downloaded and cracked version works without a hitch. and yes i do own a retail copy. so this isnt about being too cheap its about the majority of games not worth 60 quid.

The reason i generally d/load stuff is because i don`t think most of it is worth it. And what i do like i tend to buy, i.e. family guy, love it to bits, always get it way after america in UK but will always buy it on dvd, same with Pro Evo/Winning 11

I`ve never pirated a DVD, but after all the FBI, Interpol, previews, menu intros and assorted other crapola you have to sit through before you can WATCH YOUR @#$% MOVIE it makes me want to get pirate copies. Even if I had to pay more for them.

downloading something to me isnt piracy, the person who goes out and gets a copy then cracks it, makes it free for everyone else, THAT`s the pirate to me. Everyone else is just the guy who got it after it fell off the back of a truck if you know what i mean. "See i got a guy, he got this program off the back of a truck, and i got it for a bargain" If you go out and compare the leechers to the seeders on torrent sites, you can clearly see that 300:1 the leechers know squat about cracking, while the 1:300 do...

*Clap clap clap* Brilliant. Of course, EA games won`t give a sh*t and they`ll keep producing high priced games, thus making EA a main target of piracy. Apparently Spore is already the most pirated game on Earth...

You can justify all you want. Stealing is still dishonest in every way. If the product is not worth it, then don`t buy it. Simple, it`s not worth having to call yourself a dishonest person just because you wanted to own something that you feel is overpriced. And let`s face it, if all the companies listened to these pirates and started to offer better products at reasonable prices, there would still be pirating. So what else justifies dishonesty?

personally, i just don`t have the money to pay for the games i want to play so it`s easy for me to just go find it on torrent. I very much appreciate the effort the developers put into making games like half-life 2, fear and others. i download them because i think it`s unfair that i shouldn`t be able to enjoy such amazing gameplay experiences simply because i don`t have the money.

    Harrharrharrr har dee harr harr.

Land lubbers are funny. Seriously tho, if you dont see how desperate the "capitalist pigs game developers" have become then you can lick my hairy rhum flavored balls.

Preventing people from doing what their machine ( That they purchased with the same money we purchase those games )are supoosed to do is just absurd.

Mister game developer, I be really sorry that the people who created computers didn`t think things through before creating their product but the fact that we live in a capitalist society should give you a hint as to why we do it.

If your life calling be to create toys for them kids then you should get to work and stop whining.

    Love and kisses.

    Signed by an actal pirate.

If i suspected that more money would go to the grafters such as the programmers and developers, rather than making the fat cats (*cough* Sony *cough*) fatter, then i`d gladly pay full price for games and music alike.
