It tried to tell me that "Stein" is Hebrew. It`s "stone" in German! Who writes these things? Sheesh.

Not surprised to find it all over Germany, though; especially the high frequency in Hessen, where I was born. Looks like a cool site, though. I hope they expand it once they get their facts straight :)

Why does it only cover like 5 countries? Lame. I know for a fact my name is fairly common in deep dark mexico and not at all common in the US.

My family namesake has yet to make it across the border.

haha

You are likely to find "Anus"` in Serbia.
You will find "Puke"s in New Zealand
Austria is the best place to get "Hummer"s

And

The only country with "Queer"`s is the USA...some of which may be on vacation in Germany.

is a damn good start, but like mentioned it needs to be expanded, the idea is all there but simply needs to be expanded. i like how u can zoom in and see the number f first names etc.....and the regions per country and city. it would be amazing if 100% complete would be SUCH a useful tool, but is good as it stand kudos to the makers!

Reading the FAQ, I assume all their data comes from Enlgish-only phone directories, so for any African, Asian, or Middle Eastern names, you can really only search amongst the people who have emigrated.

Seems a bit incomplete. Just about everything I searched for showed Australia as the top country. I tried searching for a Chinese surname, and although it recognizes it as a Chinese name, it showed Japan as the top country with China not even showing up on the list. How could the millions of Chinese people with that name not make China the number one country?
