You figure, if he works for like 3 hours and just makes cats, he`ll have more cats than the lady in that one video who has all the stray cats. Cool

At first I read this as "Glass Maker Blows Cat". When I watched the video I was sorely disappointed.

I`ve seen a lot of glass blowing before, but that was definitely one of the best I`ve seen.

When I went to Cape Cod last summer with my family, we went to a glass museum and got to see a glass blowing demonstration like that. The lady was very talented! She made a glass pitcher out of this colored/marbled glass. It was really pretty! I even volunteered to help and I got a free light catcher thing.

I remember watching glassblowers working while visiting an art gallery... It gets really freaking hot in there. o_O

I`d be tempted to try and shape it with my hands, like clay or something... and then end up burning my fingers off.

I`ve watched this Live in Disney world before which was amazing watching them make these intricate dragon statues and stuff.

But what got me "Awwwww..." ITS A GLASS STATUE! NOT A REAL CAT STFU!

I would love to do this. I`ve made small things like glass beads and such, but I`m somewhat familiar with how glass behaves when it`s hot (and cooling, so easy to crack)

Hearkening back to the ole days of artisan craftmanship.

I always wanted to pick up such a hobby. Glass blowing is cool, but I`d really like to pick up blacksmithing.

Maybe in 10 years or so.

Aww...
First, it looks like a fox (when it`s still connected to the stick thing). Then, the legs and tail are dry and it looks like a Siamese Cat.

Then, it dry completely and is a black cat. Not only did it have a species change, it`s color changed too! :-D

I`d like to create a vase or something out of glass... but it looks really hard...

I like when the glass is all soft and warm :3

I don`t know why... o.o

Wow. It`s amazing that he managed to do that all after heating it only once. I`ve seen glass-blowers in action, and it often takes them quite a few heats to make a vase.

Done in only a minute, and looks very nice, as well. No wonder these people do years of apprentice work for this stuff.

I got all excited, Davy, and tried to search for a glass blower/sculptor (thanks Sharp) making a giraffe...

But no cigar.

Or giraffe.

"I never realized how much speed and talent was involved in glass blowing!"

It`s actually not uncommon to study under your master for well over 5 years (I do not remember the actual number) before being allowed to make your own creations and selling them.

Very delicate art as going too fast or not fast enough may result in you breaking the glass when it`s still malleable.
