LOL Painter13, this is a bit racist but back then no one would really care. It`s not like it say`s "Everytime you eat Jello a chinese person dies. Keep Eating!" I would like to stress they are not my views but the views of the Jello corporation :D

It`s racist, because if this were a real Chinese kid, his ass would be on a sewing machine making Abercrombie and Pac Sun shirts.

They have spoons in China. =________=;
And it`s possible to eat Jello with Chopsticks...I`ve done it before at a Mandarin buffet. XD Then again they were already in cubes...

ha ha, I had NO idea that the spoon was an offshoot invention of jello. I wonder how people ate soup before those geniuses in the jello industry came up with spoons

Is this a jell-o commercial? Or a spoon commercial? Because all I know is that right now I feel like buying the great western invention.

It was funny :) but seriously, do they have to make Chinese people seem like cavemen when the "spoon" came up? I mean, sure, you need a Western spoon to eat a Western dessert...that`s logical...but why the expression on the face like OMG IT`S FIRE?!?! HOOO HOO HOO!

lol it was cute. plus it wasn`t really being racist since an asian person was obviously advertising it. had it been some white guy then it would be all "omg racism a white persona is calling an infant of chinese descent a chinese baby!!!"

I was just thinking about this one, when i saw a box of jello in the kitchen. It`s been on i-a-b 2 times, and I still don`t see how it`s racist >_>. They could`ve gotten away with far worse things, being it the 60`s

Racist means your intentionally making fun of a race. They were making fun of the Chinese, but then again the Chinese aren`t a race. I was frankly more offended by the suggestion that the spoon was invented for eating jello.

so albeit this ad is horrible along with almost every other ad I see, its...

NOT RACIST

Jell-O also makes pudding. Delicious, scrumptious pudding.

Also, this ad can easily be construed as racist though it is still a good ad. The mans voice said so at the end, I would like to point out.

I don`t know if that`s racist... I mean, from what I`ve heard of the official definition of racism, it has to say or insinuate that one race is superior to another. This just seems incredibly offensive and stereotypical.

Though they did make the Asian mom and baby look stupid with the whole, "Oooh! A spoon! :O" thing.
