By the way, Jarabe de Palo is an expression.. and not to be translated literally. It means to "cure" someone by giving them a beating, like saying that a kid who is acting up needs jarabe de palo. It`s almost like saying "can of whoop as5".

There name is actually one of those "two meaning" phrases that many spanish speaking countries are famous for. It can also mean stick syrup... literally. Just think perverted, and you`ll get it.

Because I haven`t taken Spanish in years I only understood small parts of that song, and it was particularly interesting when the insane man came on at first because all I could make out were random words. But.. I loved it anyway.. made me have to dance along.

Im spanish and the name of the band is Jarabe de Palo (Syrup Stick)and the name of the song is Bonito(pretty, Beautifull, etc)
This song talks about all the pretty things in life (the sea, life, to forget about the problems)
The chorus goes "Bonito, todo me parece bonito"(Pretty, all looks pretty for me)

Jarabe de palo is the name of the band. The singer`s name is Pau Donés.

By the way, to give "Jarabe de palo" to someone is a Spanish expression that means (I have googled it so I don`t know whether it is correct) "to give a good hinding" to someone. It`s the first time I hear that expression, so I wouldn`t know.

I don`t particulary like the band, it`s one of those that play the same song on and on. They all sound the same to me. Still, this one is not too bad, and, as The Frogg said, it`s about looking on the bright side of everything, which is a good message, I guess.

I didn`t know it was so popular for Spanish classes, though.

I liked the part with the ambulance and the crazy guy

and eichenkatze, jabare de palo is the singers name I think

-----

STILL! Google says his name roughly translates to Syrup Stick.

"So Mr. and Mrs. Palo... what would you like to name your son?

and so thus... Syrup Stick began his long journey to the world of music entertainment.

My gaydar keeps pinging off the singer. He`s also kinda cute.

So, eh, my favourite part would be the whole time he`s on screen, I guess. Though mind, he`s only like 7/10 hot.
