Link: Pray For Rain, Christians! - Church guy is asking people to pray for rain on the day Obama gives his speech in Denver during the DNC. Not smart, pal.

Prayer should be used to say thank you. Not for douchery.

Then again, these people are far below saying thank you anyway, so why waste my breath.

Good God, I`m becoming a cynic...

Has anyone else realized that when you try to help your presidential choice, you actually hurt him?

    Obama:
    Rev. Wright
Ludacris (he said that McCain doesn`t belong in a chair unless he`s paralyzed)
This other guy who said "HA!! THE RUSSIAN CEASE FIRE IS PROOF THEY ARE LISTENING TO OBAMA!!!! (cease fire ended 2 hours later)

    Now this for McCain?

I agree with Nido. Isn;t praying to cause others pain something that... oh I don`t know... is vengeful and spiteful?

That`s just misplaced anger right there. Regardless of religion or political party, it`s completely ridiculous to wish for inconveniences on another group like that. Like, pray for him to fail in the election or something. Not an asinine thing like that.

    Ugh.

They should pray for the ten plagues of egypt, if god comes through that would be some bombastic proof.
However, i`m predicting even if it rained Obama would be able to miraculously walk through bone dry... :)

I heard about this about a week ago on NPR. The people who are praying for all this rain are all douchebags. If u dont want Obama in office, then just vote for McCain or that random Independant guy. Rain wont change anything.

But then again, if it does rain... Imagine the chaos that would insue.

"They should pray for the ten plagues of egypt, if god comes through that would be some bombastic proof."

But, proof denies faith, and without faith, God can`t exist. So, if the ten plagues did occur at the DNC, then God wouldn`t exist anymore.

Man. That really is a douche-y thing to do. Is he really so insecure about the position of his favored candidate that he`s willing to try and ask for divine intervention to help weaken a different candidate`s position?

I think when you`re reaching that far for help, you`ve pretty much already lost.

I don`t believe abortion is wrong for religious reasons, I just think it`s irresponsible. Unless you`re raped. Then that`s different so I guess I`m in between on the subject.

Well as far as legal reasons go, Peanut, it`s be impossible to only offer abortion to those who were raped. You could lie, trials take too long, etc.

But yet, it can be used for irresponsible reasons. So can the welfare system.

...Oh god, did I just cue an abortion debate? D:

Well yeah I know thats why I don`t really have an opinion on whether it should be legal or not. I just don`t agree with it. Women spark the debate that they should be able to take control over their bodies, but how did they get in that condition in the first place? Keep your legs closed if you don`t want a baby.

Since Im way too entertained by the olympics to join this debate (and I do like this debate) all I have to say is, if they get to choose whether to have the baby or not, I should be able to choose whether or not to pay Child Support

I`ll say one thing that does bother me legally. When a murderer kills a pregnant woman, no matter how pregnant she is, it`s always considered a double murder. That makes no sense. Either make it a double murder and abortion illegal, or one murder and abortion legal.

And I kinda agree with you there, Prime. What if the couple was married for a while, and they divorced after having the kid for a few years?

If you pay for the childs bill then you might not need to. Like if you agree ok, you house him and take care of food, Ill pay for his school and allowance. The financial burden shouldn`t be just on one parent but it shouldn`t be a situation where one parent doesn`t even have to do anything.

I`m pretty sure that mostly stems from the fact that the pregnant woman didn`t have a choice in the matter. The whole idea of the pro-choice movement is for the mother to have the right to choose, not to have a choice forced on her.

Setting my own money on fire is not a crime. Someone else setting my money on fire is. The law takes the viewpoint of the child being, essentially, property of the mother up to the point where the fetus is considered to be truly alive.

If you set your own child on fire, would you be punished the same as someone else who set your child on fire? Of Course!

A little over a month ago everyone on here was making fun of a church group that was praying for lower gas prices. Gas prices have fallen about 50 cents/gallon since that video aired.

((I thought I would throw in my two cents about abortion))

Basically, I think it should be legal, because if it was illegal, women would do it anyway illegally with coat hangers, knitting needles, etc. and that could also kill the woman as well. I think abortion should be safe, legal, and rare.
