I stick by John Edwards- he is still cool. the only people that hype this, or should be hyping this, are froth-at-the-mouth conservatives who want to distract people from how bad Bush has been these 8 years. "Affairs", or having sex, is cool. No need to knock the man. After Bill Clinton I was hoping for this sort of thing to be commonplace and accepted. guess not. if all the people who look at porn speak out, and/or everyone who has had more than 1 sex partner speaks out, this will no longer be an issue.

I think the bigger news here is that John Edwards turned out not to be gay.

What? The man is human and he`s truthful about it to the American public? Well, I`m certainly not going to vote for HIM now.

None of our best presidents in history had any character flaws to speak of. Give me someone who maintains that they were a boy scout all their lives any day!

This is all the mainstream media was talking about, as a war erupted between Russia and Georgia, which is much more important.

What`s more important: a war, or a cheating husband who happens to be a former presidential candidate?

Exactly what I thought when I saw this title on the page... CNN is headlined with pictures of Edwards and Bernie Mac when A STATE OF WAR has been declared in Georgia! Gahhh I hate how the media priorities the news. I also don`t blame everyone for not knowing what is going on if there isn`t enough coverage of it.

What a boring piece of non-news. Who cares if Edwards boned some chick? No doubt we won`t hear the end of this for a week.

Kennedy did not lose the popular vote. The only presidents to do that and still win the electoral college were John Q. Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes,
Benjamin Harrison, and George W. Bush. Kennedy remains one of the most respected and well liked presidents of all time, though his assassination may have something to do with that.

Kennedy was far from the first president to have an affair. In fact, it was common practice up until Nixon (of all people) put on his family values routine to get himself elected. FDR, Warren Harding, Grover Cleveland, Tomas Jefferson, Lyndon Johnson, and Dwight Eisenhower (at the very least) all had mistresses.

There is no such thing as the "popular vote." It is a myth. You have fifty separate elections, one in each state. The winner of any given state gets that state`s electoral votes.

Yellowsquare: Also, people showed respect to whatever president was in office then. It`s not that Kennedy had more respect, in fact he lost the popular vote but won the electorical college vote

Remember the days when John F Kennedy (a well-liked and excellent President) had a different woman (aside from his beautiful wife!!) every other week??

Remember when people left personal business to the individual himself??

agree with above statement, when you start using your opposition´s private life as propaganda your stooping pretty low.

who cares. It`s his personal life. I don`t see how that can affect one`s leadership.

Yes, guys, because an affair suddenly makes him unfit to run a country or anything. For f-ck`s sake.

Who honestly care`s if he has an affair or not? Just because he bones some other woman doesn`t mean he wouldn`t do good in office per-say.
We as the public dive WAY too deep into personal affairs. So the guy screwed up. How many people here on IAB have had an affair on their wife/Husband, or cheated on their boyfriend/girlfriend...?

i believe, that you are what some people call an "non-nice individual", and, that by being said "non-nice individual", you missed the fact that i was being "sarcastic", also.
