kairobert I agree. I lean more towards the Marxist views. Though I do have a weak spot for socialism

Invest in precious metals!! That`s how you make it in the looming depression.

I`m not talking stocks or certificates, I`m talking about physical bullion. I`ve already started. Silver bottomed out at $13/oz today and gold is under $900. Now`s the time, guys!

Public transit is the cheap whore of transportation. The bus smells, you have weird people going in and out all day long, and no, she doesn`t know what that smell is either.

I would know, I don`t own a car.

"Keep drinking the Commie-Aid there kairobert.

Communism has only killed a 100 million people."

Note the "(not leninism)". By the way, capitalism "has killed" 50 times that amount, but capitalism was never a specific ideology, so it could not be blamed.

I am not talking about Leninism/Stalinism, I am talking about the economical (yeah the irony) system communism.

Please read the whole comment before you reply.
And please do some research before you instantly conform into the prejudical opinions created by people like President James Carter.

Lol, why is this "economy" always so important?
"economy" is a semi-imaginary system created by capitalism and the rats that follow with it to partly show how many resources a country has on paper. This system fails so miserably, but is kept up by the fact that you can`t blame the failure on any specific person.

Know what a real system is? Having food to eat, resources to build and progress with. Money is not a resource. Land, a good workforce, technology and natural resources are.
This is why communism (not Leninism) is better than capitalism.

I actually did have a thought a long time ago of how someone could live off of Costco in desperate times, haha!

You know what the best way to live in this economy is to have your own business and work for yourself. I would suggest you folks pick up a book called "Lower Your Taxes Big Time" by Sandy Botkin. It`s so awesome I mean everything I buy is now tax deductible because of it. I got sick of the corporate world BTW and being on a W-2 blows. You pay 30 percent of what you make to uncle same which sucks. Now I don`t even send them that much anymore because I`m 1099.

That just depressed me.

Seriously, though, you`d be surprised how little you`ll miss the material things. When I moved out, the first thing I dropped was TV. With internet, you have TV, movies, and quality reading for less than $50 a month. And no wasted gas!

God, I need to get out more.

"I survive comfortably on less than a $1,000 a month and you can too if you needed."

My food bill is higher than that

#1 Tip, Quit eating out! Learn to cook at home on the cheap.
I live on an Average of $2 a meal, $6 a day, $180 a month.

#2 Get a bicycle, moped or scooter with a good size basket.
They are making a cool comeback lately.

#3 Grow a garden and learn how to "can" the surplus for the winter.

#4 Buy in bulk, Get a good vaccuum sealer, and ziploc freezer meats and perishables into smaller portions.
I know double bagging seems like a waste, But it will save them from freezer burn.

#5 Quit Smoking, Drinking, Going to the movies, Drop cable tv/sattelite, etc. Find free things to do.
I know, Easier said than done but you will be amazed at how much it saves you.

I survive comfortably on less than a $1,000 a month and you can too if you needed.

Too bad Costco charges a membership fee to get in the door. That probably shuts out a lot of "frugal people"*

If the government collapses, our money is worthless

Instead buy whatever you want and when the government collapses, sell your body for food and shelter!
