And I thought Utah had too many wal-marts...I`m never moving to the east! I`d get chlostrophobic from all of the wal-marts there. I try not to shop there anymore. I go to target instead, and then when target takes over the world, I`ll find another place, lol.

For the people who missed my post and said Nevada is lucky/smart for having so few Wal-Marts...

There are fewer Wal-Marts because most of Nevada is uninhabited, but they are highly concentrated in the populated areas. There are 20 Wal-Marts in Las Vegas alone. Compared to San Diego, that`s twice as many Per Capita.

Wal-Mart is like a disease. If you want to watch something extremely interesting about Wal-Mart watch "Wal-Mart the High Cost of Low Prices" It will change what you think about Wal-Mart.

Walmart is just over expanding too much, just like Starbucks and Krispy Kreme, both of which are falling into financial trouble by opening too many stores too quickly.

Its a slow process, but it should hit Walmart too, if they continue to build store after store in locations that are already saturated. Capitalism is a cruel mistress.

This is the scariest thing I`ve seen all week! I`ve only been dragged to Wal-Mart once in my life and it is an experience I would not like to repeat.

Did you know that in China, Wal-Mart is considered a luxury store? It`s because it carries American brands that are difficult to find in China. Interesting fact, huh?

The reason there are fewer Wal-Marts in most of the west is because there are fewer people in the majority of those states. The Wal-Marts are concentrated in the populated areas. For instance, there aren`t 4 Wal-Marts in Nevada, as someone stated. There are 20 in Las Vegas alone, but most of Nevada is uninhabited, thus, you are not going to see another Wal-Mart for like 7 hours once you head north. Since moving back to Southern California from Las Vegas I noticed there are way less Wal-Marts to go around, making them much more crowded. Las Vegas has a population of 1.4 million in only 741 square miles with 20 Wal-Marts. San Diego has a population of nearly 3 million in 2000 square miles and only 18 Wal-Marts, none of which are Super Wal-Marts, thanks to the lobbyists. In short, San Diego has twice the people, three times the land area, and still has less Wal-Marts than Las Vegas.

But really, more power to the west. Resist as long as possible. I live in the east and every time I say I refuse to shop at walmart people react like I`m a leper. Poor, stupid east...

so 9,826,630 divided by 3176 is.... 3,094 so 1 per 3,904 square kilometers
or maybe i did it wrong too....
