Yeah, I can`t even see the Earth, let alone the moon.
But still, I had no idea that there were huge stars like those in comparison to ours!
Umm... no... they`re in our universe ;) It could quite easily matter if one exploded and was close enough - we`d be roasted by radiation - if anything, we`d be turned back to pre-industrial revolution as all electronics would be fried.
the biggest starr is really scary though
And Pluto isn`t on there because the moon is significantly larger.
However those huge stars are cool.
And earth a mere ATOM.
Ever notice how some people post like 5 times just randomly?
Umm, no. Just no.
....than call them canis majorisshiggin, everything after Jupiter was a star
... Did you steal that from Dane Cook`s Vicous Circle? No wait. Some guy on Comedy Central. He did the joke about the pillsbury doughboy?
Canis probably doesn`t exist anymore. We`re still waiting for the lights to come and stuff
Will I still get cable?
Still, even with huge stuff like VW Cephei (isn`t that a car name?) out there, it remains that if you showed it next to its nearest neighbour at true scale, it would still look like a dot. The universe is mostly empty space.
Then every person could have a spot on the planet that was several hundred times the total surface area of the earth...
the vid was cool though. we`re so tiny =]
So Canis Majoris is likely one of the biggest single objects in the universe.
Your comment made my brain go ow
did you know chuck norris` testicles are both bigger than the other?
it was on CNN
Anyways, guys. listen to Yoda!! "Size matters not." its true! ALL those huge planets and stars and theres NO LIFE. all of that and theres no planet that life can handle! u must remember space is a very precise thing. I aint gonna go and explain all the habital zones and stuff, but think about it. We are the only planet with life that we have found so far. Also, not only do we have life, but we have intelligent life. (well, what we see as intelligent anyhoo)
Funny, that is one of my points too. The universe is so big and large, we tiny insignificant humans can only know so much. Just knowing about the size deserves a pat on the back
"we`re so insignifigant!"
Alongside everything else in the universe, definitely, but take heart and cheer up because we are still meaningful to the others we happen to share this planet with.
Now I suggest you stop posting before someone accues this of being some form of foreplay!
Also, Brunch, Plutos not a planet anymore. They kicked it out for sharing orbits. True story... national geographic told me so.
paperbaka, you`re a little off. 1 quadrillion seconds ago it was 31,686,079 BC.
2008 - (1000000000000000 / 60 / 60 / 24 / 365.25)yes, i am THAT bored right now.
He`s family..I can insult him..I brought him here....whatever happens after this is probably my fault!
Ok..The music is from Disneys "The Black Hole" for the person who asked.
My 2nd comment is to point out to the religious people here...this is why we are so tiny and insignificant when it comes to the scale of the universe. Explain where your god is and what his game plan is, if this is what we know allready?
Cant help it..sorry but its one of my arguing points!
By the way, that video is way cooler than the one along time ago that was silent and just scrolled across to Antares.
