Museum Dinosaur Interacts With Kids

It"s like Jurassic Park that"s come to life. How long before this raptor (?) is programmed to bite heads off?

Ohh man, I wanna go see that.
I know it`s a guy in a suit, but it`s still freakin` awesome. x3
Also, it`s a very young t-rex.
Raptors are smaller and not as dense. /geek

Thats... not a robot.. it`s an anamatronic suit a guy is wearing. We get stuff like this walking down the 16th street mall (like Broadway in NY) here in Denver for parades and friday events..
You can see the legs inside the T-Rex`s fake legs.
Still neat though. They`re really awesome up close.

oh and @JumboH -
2) They didn`t cover the legs because a human body cann`t support itself and the weight of the suit (which is anamatronic meaning heavy.) if he/she were to bend their legs or stretch to fit in the suit. Movement would be limited.
3) He/she is paid to do this as a museum attraction. Dinosaurs are scary. period. Don`t think so? Go back a couple million years and lets see how long it takes before you run from the T-Rex eyeing you in the savanna lol.

Three Things:

1. That would totally freak my dogs out. I need one of those costumes.

2. Why did they not cover the person`s legs? They made this awesome costume and finished 99.9% of it. Might as well have added a sign that said, "Don`t use your imagination. Not real."

3. Anybody who volunteered to get into the costume shouldn`t be allowed to wield it. If you enjoy freaking out little kids (which I would), you should be ashamed and not be allowed to wear the costume. Let the boring guy do it.

I REALLY REALLY want to see that thing do the `mascot in the airport prank`, but in the museum to unsuspecting adults.

That`s right ...train the kids to feel comfortable around reptiles. Reptiles love to be patted on the head...and then they run into an alligator or crocodile

Awesome vid!

^^ "Not a raptor, probably a juvenile tyrannosaur".

Indeed. Or maybe allosaur or albertosaur. Def not a raptor (sorry, my nerd senses are tingling. I`ll shut up now).

What I wouldn`t do to go back in time and go see these as a kid - how magical is that - being able to stroke a dinosaur :-)

Not a raptor, probably a juvenile tyrannosaur. Awesome suit though, I MUST OWN ONE OF THESE!

Imagine walking into school with one of these on... ehehehehe

You can easily see the legs of the guy in the suit. I can`t believe somebody mistaked this as being animatronic.

For some reason I was waiting for him to take a faux dump. Just have an anal cavity hatch open and fake poop fall out, for the realism. XD

it moves quite fluently. but i would be too scared if i was their age lol. i used to not like an animatronic tree that told stories at the KB toys in lenox lol.

yeah, i thought it was a robot too at first. but it seems this museum knows the dangers involved with giving a two ton robot movable legs and 3 inch teeth. they made the smart choice. death to robots

oh by the way, yes there is a guy in the suit, but he controls the tail and head and arm movements via remote operation, which is considered robotic... theres a post from here a while back that showed how these things are made, and they were for some theatrical performance. about 10K for one of these robotic suits

I`m surprised they weren`t more scared than they were...maybe I`m just getting out of touch with my young child`s side, but I would`ve thought that would have been running farther away more quickly and with more screaming, but I guess I`m just expecting too much.

Or my dad would`ve done that to me...

I love these dinosaur suit things, they look so much more realistic than juddery robotics.

I had a really bad experience at a Wax Museum in Amsterdam once becuase I thought it would be fun to take magic mushrooms before I went in. All I can think of is the load of crap that would be in my pants if I had been at this museum instead. Haven`t any of those kids seen Jurassic Park? RUN!!!!!!! "It`s smelling you." ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!
