I`d be scared sh*tless if I were that jockey.

I felt more sorry for the horse though.

Let`s hope we never see ANY more horses on the race track. It`s an idiodic sport that exploits animals for human gain.

Those horses get better treatment and have better lives than at least a billion people on this planet. I think they`ll manage.

You need to sit on the horse`s head when they do that, before they get back up. I could ride a horse before I could ride a bicycle, I know what I`m talking about.

Wow, what`s wrong with the horse? It showed no signs of agitation beforehand and then WHAM! Sudden backflip! Usually animals WILL let you know when they don`t want something.

Poor horsie, obviously decided instead of doing this race and getting whipped the whole way, he`s going to act up and get sent home. Sounds about right.

Plus, those horses might be treated well but as soon as one falls over a fence and hurts themselves, they get shot on the spot to "put them ut of their misery" even if they`re not that badly hurt. WTF.

That`s nothing. My horse did that once to me, too. She also used to intentionally try to brush me off by running head first towards a tree and then stepping sideways so my knee got banged. took to wearing knee pads.

Horses pull those stunts when they think they can win. They do it because they don`t want to do whatever it is you want them to do and once they get your number; i.e. once they know what it takes to get you to leave them alone, it`s very hard to break them of the habit.

Gentle training starting back from the ground up, focusing on being your horse`s friend and part of his "herd" as well as being above him in the heirarchy will help.

It took me over a year and a half to retrain my horse and by the end of it, I had no more need for saddles, halters, or bridles.

And then I got pregnant lol and had to sell her.

Wrong. The only time that happens is if they break a leg. That is the only humane thing to do when that happens. If they fall and go over a fence or whatever and just sprain themselves, they`re not killed.

Think about it - these horses cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Why would you needlessly kill something that cost you that much AND with the proper rehabilitation and medical care, could bring you MORE money? Racing is a business - you don`t kill your money maker because they bruised something.

If they break their ankle, knee, or leg - you can`t help them. Race horse or not, they have to be put down.

I doubt that horse will be racing again. It will be a long time, if ever. In fact it may be lucky to stay alive because a lot of people would just put it down after stuff like that.
