I don`t think that there is a real difference between the two countries humor. It really depends on the individual.

Haha.. that was hilarious! This guy is great. I`ll have to watch more of his routines, I`d never heard of him before. It`s nice to hear the issue from a comedic standpoint and to get away from all the nasty arguments.

No one`s mentioned Bill Bailey yet? I think he`s a comedy genius.

Monty Python was 7 people, almost all of whom still act. If you`re going to count and split hairs, count them all. Python RULES!
John Cleese
Eric Idle
Michael Palin
Terry Jones
Terry Giliam
Graham Chapman (RIP)
Carol Cleaveland
Neal Innes
And there`s more yet:
Rowan Atkinson
Eddie Izzard
Benny Hill
Tim Curry
The 2 guys from Little Britian (can`t remember their names)
But no matter how you count it, there will, of course, be far MORE American comedians simply because there are far more Americans to chose comedians from. It doesn`t, however, mean that they are better. (When was the last time Martin Lawrence or Eddie Murphy were actually funny?)

"I`ve seen the british version of the office."

Erm - you are aware that The Office was a British series, bought up by an American producer and remade in the States aren`t you

Frankie Boyle (Scottish)"

Err...I do believe that Scotland is a part of Britain...
Although, Frankie Boyle IS the funniest person on this planet. :-D

I didn`t like Hedberg as a true preformer. I`d rather read his jokes than have him say it.

IMO both sides of the pond have or had great comedians - it depends on the type of comedy.
Comedians worth a mention:
Bill Hicks (American)
Peter Cook (British)
Frankie Boyle (Scottish)

I saw this awhile ago, I thought it was funny (although his views on fat people are funnier... Chubby Funster)

unfortunenatly I wont be in on this debate. Computer is getting fixed. This is a loaned one but I will say this.

British Comedians:
Ricky Gervais
Henry Youngman
Monty Python

American Comedian:
Richard Pryor
All of the Jewish ones (Seinfeld, BStein, Larry David)
Demetri Martin
Martin Lawrence
Eddie Murphy
Dave Chappelle
Katt Williams

I`ll stay with my American comedians

^^ `I`ve seen the british version of the office. I literally watched a whole episode, with almost the exact same script, word for word, as the american version and I didn`t laugh. It`s all in the delivery.`

The Office was originally English... the Americans copied. It just so happens you saw the American version first (I`m assuming), so obviously, that one would seem funnier than other versions that would be watched after the `original` version you saw (original meaning first). In my case I saw the actual original British version and found it funny, saw an episode of the American one, and that didn`t compare, because to me it was not the original one I saw. Plus, in my opinion if it is word for word then obviously it won`t work, the Americans are trying to pull of British humour.

It`s not really a vote either way, it`s comedic commentary on the Bible.
And alright, at the start he does say that he believes it but there have got to be some other religious comedians out there (assuming he wasn`t just saying it to lead up to the skit).

Funny though :p

Ricky Gervais is an open ATHIEST. This is why the people were laughing, he is mocking creationism.

I love our British humour.
