Keep those blinkers on, Nazarene!
Crude oil/barrel today = $122.59
Please bless the good Christian babies of the world. may they grow up to take control of the US Government. Bless the soldiers in Iraq killing other people for our freedoms which we are volentarily throwing away. And finally bless the hard working people who build my H2.
And we wish to thank you Lord for providing us with the H2 so that we may tranpsport our one child to school through the perils of Honda civics and Toyota corollas. We also wish to thank you for the 90HP boat which transports our family safely across the recreational lake at 60 miles per hour. And for the riding lawnmower which helps us mow our 1/8th acre lawn.Lord we ask of you a small simple request. Lord if you can find it in your heart to help us out by coming to the Leaders of OPEC and Exxon, and BP and the Futures Traders and lord please guide them into realising that our blessed H2 and Boat and Blessed Riding Lawnmower need this fuel at a cheap price.
I am the shoveller and the craftsman. I feed your power plant, and I make the stuff you rely on every day.
God is not in charge of the supply. I am.
^^ "They didn`t miss the theory of supply and demand. They just realize that God is in charge of the supply."
Nazarene, at first i did some lawls as I thought you were being ironical. However, judging by your profile statement as a "devout, conservative Christian" whose favourite movie is "The Passion of the Christ", I realise that you`re actually serious.
True, Catbarf. But the reality is even worse than that. Time wasted in useless prayer is time that could be spent actually doing something that might actually help (loved the pic on the previous page).
Pray for good health? Get off your arse and go for a brisk walk instead.
Pray for an end to world poverty? Do some research to find a good charity, and send them a damn cheque.
Pray for an end to AIDS in Africa where over 22 million people today have HIV? Go petition the Catholic Church to stop preaching to African christians who don`t know any better that condom use is evil, and is not effective in preventing AIDS
And just to be pedantic for a final point: I suppose all these nut-bars in the video took a bicycle to the gas station to
I`m from the UK, and I have to agree- the American economy needs to have lower gas prices than Europe- very little public transport, and it`s a huge country. All those semis use lots of gas to keep the economy humming along.
Besides, in europe we don`t need to use as much gas. I`m not talking about the SUV culture- more like the size of the countries. Right now I live in the Netherlands, where it`s $14 a gallon. However if I drive for an hour and a half from here I can be in France, Germany, Belgium or Lux, so I don`t need to drive far to do what I need to do. Be a different story if I lived in the middle of Idaho.
The difference is that we have a crappily-designed country that makes mass-transit impossible for most of the population.
"the saying goes, "to each his/her own", and let those people believe in whatever they choose to believe."
If they`ve got the right to pray for lower gas prices, we`ve got the right to laugh at them for being such morons.
religion and politics are two of the most biased topics you can bring up in a community, and it`s painfully clear that the poster of this topic did it just to spite the christian belief. i mean, who the f*** really cares about this s*** anyways? the saying goes, "to each his/her own", and let those people believe in whatever they choose to believe.
Uh...no. Eight misguided, brain-washed imbeciles do not represent the thoughts of over 300 MILLION people. Besides, according to South Park, Canadians stand around farting all day while their faces split in two when talking. Oh wait...that would be generalizing.
Anyway, this video made me more nauseous than `Two Girls and A Cup`. Although the funniest part to me is that God must have heard them; all 8¢ worth. LMFAO
i love that song
Unfortunately (from a very personal selfish point of view), they`re going through the industrialisation stages that the countries of most readers` here did at some point in the last two centuries.
To do that requires a lot of energy. One of the easiest forms of energy is oil. The whole developed world is powered on it to one degree or another - in the USA`s case to a very alarming degree going on national security risk.
Economies of scale, coupled in with the fact that hundreds of millions in both countries are still not yet middle class means that they can compete price wise with the developed world and it`ll only get worse.
Which is why most European countries are actively looking for ways to reduce their dependency on oil, at any cost.
Can I just say, you don`t have to be atheist to think these people are wacky. But if it makes them feel like they`re helping, then more power to `em!(especially if it does help;D)
i swear, for a minute when they were singing "we have lower gas prices" i thought it was a commercial. gas tends to be cheaper in low-income neighborhoods which is why it`s 3.91.
dude: "we believe all life`s problems can be answered by prayer"god: "do it yourself!" *zap*
If your god won`t save babies from cot death, he`s obviously not going to lower petrol prices slightly.
In other words, if something good happens it`s God, if something bad happens it`s man.
Also, why are so many of you Atheists all of a sudden? I kinda liked it when you were all against me.
They could do bake sales! That would be far more productive than praying over gas prices.
Who was it who said that one pair of hands hard at work is better than a thousand clasped in prayer?
I should probably get a stock portfolio first.
