If you"ve been in a serious car accident, you"ll know exactly what these guys were thinking in this rollover.

I love how the strange white shirted man, after many correction attempts by the driver, reaches out and grabs the wheel like he can save the day.
________
When you see it in slow motion, it seems that he`s just grabbing it for the sake of holding something. After all, there`s not much to hold onto when you`re in the front.

what questions me is to why they would be filming ordenary driving from inside the car?

"I don`t think a driving instructor would let his students go 100 KM/H."

100 km/h is the highway speed in many European countries, on freeways it`s often more than 100 km/h.
I actually drove 150 km/h (about 95 mph) during a driving lesson ... but that was in Germany (no speed limit on freeways).

"Must have had someone/something run them off the road. You`re a pretty bad driver if you lose control at 60mph."

I flipped a mini van over at 35 miles an hour. :D That takes skill. lol

Even though he didn`t appear to try the door, I`m pretty sure it was all jammed up & wouldn`t have opened anyway.

I was in a roll-over accident with my ex. We rolled about three times down a slope and ended up upside down. It was terrifying...I thought I was going to die while it was happening. My seatbelt got stuck and my ex had to help free me...and then we had to crawl out the window into sticker bushes...real nice.

"it was staged, why else would they have a television camera?"

Yeah i`m sure they wrecked their car and risked their lives so they could put a video on youtube.

The reason they had cameras was because they were a TV crew. Duh.

Airbags didn`t go off because the front of the vehicle wasn`t damaged to set them off.

My parents and little brothers were involved in a roll-over accident about a month ago. Got hit on the rear passenger side. Fish-tailed, and rolled the car 3 times. It was a Dodge Durango.

yeah, it looks like they were already flipping when the passenger grabbed the wheel as a handle...

I know exactly how the feels.
2 weeks ago, my mom, my brother and I were on the road early in the morning. It had just rained so the road was still wet. We were going about 50MPH when suddenly the car started to hydroplane. All i could see outside the window were cars coming our way. We hit the small cement wall (not sure what is called) and my window shattered. Needless to say, a car hit us. Unbelievably noone was hurt. The cars weren´t that damaged either. It still scared the poo out of me though lol.

that was scary. It looked like the driver`s head hit the window...very lucky - could have been much worse. And thank goodness they were wearing seatbelts.

Osirisascend, yep, in montana the speed limit on the highway is 75, at least we have one now =)

RyanF701, that statement was not entirely accurate. While the NATIONAL speed limit is still 55mph, over the last few years states have been permitted to set their own speed limits. For example, here in New York, the speed limit is 65mph outside of urban areas, and out west (Montana I believe) the speed limit for cars during daylight hours is 75mph. Yeah IAB... looks like my lurking days are over...

" That`s only 62 mph. If a driving instructor didn`t let his students drive at highway speeds, then he ain`t doing his job. "

Hm, highway speeds here only go up to 55.

But any speed is too fast if your hydroplaning :P

When I was 16 I swerved to avoid a deer, drove up and embankment and flipped, then slide upside-down for about 30ft. My seatbelt saved my life that day. That accident is the reason I will never buy a convertible.

I remember there were sparks flying from where the sunroof used to be and I was grabbing the bottom of the steering wheel and pulling myself down and away from the roof, worried that my hair might catch on fire.

The funny thing is, the thing that kept going through my head as I slid was, "Oh my God I am in so much trouble...my parents are going to kill me! I wonder if the car will still be driveable...maybe I can just flip it back over."

I wasn`t scared at all during the accident. It was afterward, when I was hanging upside-down and couldn`t get out of my seatbelt that I freaked out.

I think that`s a Volvo S40, my dad has one of those and the seats look the same.

I doubt that was a driving student and instructor as the instructor wouldn`t have allowed the kid to drive with one hand on the steering wheel.

That is why I bought a Volvo for the wife.

Staged or not, being able to walk away from a roll over accident is proof positive they are good cars.

No one looked too bothered about the crash.
The worst crash I`ve been involved in was only a daft old lady bumping into our car, making it spin and then smashing into a picket fence which caused a big dent, which is probably nothing compared to that crash.

I was in an accident like that once. The car ended up on the roof and I was hanging upside down. I had to prop myself up (or down) to get the seatbelt to release so I could crawl out the side window. The front end was also facing down so it was really hard to get a grasp on my surroundings. Not fun at all.

Even if it was staged, the car still had to roll over. And you need some serious balls to get, willingly, in a car you know is bound to be in an accident. Maybe they were shooting something else when that went down.

Window exit - WTF?

"I don`t think a driving instructor would let his students go 100 KM/H."

That`s only 62 mph. If a driving instructor didn`t let his students drive at highway speeds, then he ain`t doing his job.

Looks like an animal ran out in front of him, or another driver changed lanes to close to him. Regardless, he freaked out, over steered, lost control, then over corrected, and put his car into the ditch.

And then "wtf did he do?"

It seems that some other car forced them into crash.

I don`t think a driving instructor would let his students go 100 KM/H.

That`s pretty fast, and probably why they spun out to begin with, plus it looked like a cloudy day and it might have just got done raining and they could have hydroplaned off of the road.

It did look kind of fake, neither of them seemed that shocked by it,

The reason the airbags didnt go off is because none of the airbag sensors went off. If the volvo was equipped with side airbags then you would have seen something.

The passanger only gets the wheel when they`re starting to move into the air. Almost like he`s trying to do something a little too late. Or just trying to brace himself.

Wow, that is eerily familiar. It`s been barely 6 months since I was cut off and rolled my truck 1.5 times at 100km/hr. Walked away though.

"Teleneve, you are a very crafty man indeed.
But it makes you wonder, would he had recovered if the wheel wasn`t taken?"

It looks like they were already at the verge of flipping when the other guy grabbed the wheel. You gotta love how the radio just keeps going on like nothing ever happened... Probably the most eerie thing when you get into a crash and "Buttercup" is playing on the radio (True story).

Why thank you thursdaylark! Perhaps he could have recovered, but he just looked so confused at that point. I think he over corrected and the passenger tried to straighten him back out. I wish we could get an outside view of the accident.

Ok, so there were cameras, but do you think it`s possible that this could have been a driving instructor and his students? That would explain the wheel grab, He could have had cameras in the car for liability reasons. They may have sold the rights to the footage to volvo to use for advertising. Who knows. I just thought I`d offer another possibility.

If it was staged, they are retards for, A) not wearing protective gear, b) not having more cameras filing more angles.
