"I`ve had a few long term, perfectly fulfilling relationships through online dating. It`s not any different from meeting in real life, except you get way more choices and can filter them way more efficiently. How am I going to find a cute, intelligent, atheist or agnostic girl between the ages of 25 and 35 and lives within 25 miles of me who doesn`t want kids, is articulate and understands the basics of grammar, and likes to wakeboard and/or mountain bike, by accidentally running into her at a bar?! Impossible. It would be like trying to find a book on quantum physics by randomly opening books one at a time and wasting a few days reading each before moving on to the next one, instead of just searching for the right one on Amazon."

Hey...you`ve just described me. Too bad I`m also a greasy fatass.

i met my hubby on the internet. we were just friends who had lots in common and decisded to meet...and we err..got it on. he moved in two months laters and here we are nearly 5 years later with a baby on the way :)

what IS sad though are the people who `love` eachother without even meeting, it annoys me when people think that. there is soooo much to a relationship that has to be in person

I actually met my husband on Match.com six and a half years ago. I also dated some other people from that site and, though they didn`t turn out to be THE ONE, there were some really nice guys.

@Bekll "You do know that agnostic has nothing to do with belief, right? An agnostic person is still atheist or theist.":

Yeah, you`re right, an agnostic person can be an atheist or theist, or just not care. I use it in the newer sense, of generally not caring, though if pressed, I am also an atheist.

And @Charizzo: "I`d rather go through different relationships that don`t work out, because that gives me experience.":

I have enjoyed the relationships that didn`t work out in the past for the experience as well, and if meeting people randomly works for you, then go for it. I`m getting older, and I`ve pretty much figured out who I am, I`m starting to settle down. I`m not trying to find the "perfect one" online, but it sure helps to improve the odds by weeding out all the obviously bad fits. I`d frankly rather be wakeboarding or playing GTA4 or having dinner with friends than be in an awkward first date with a girl that`s clearly not right for me.

That was stereotypical, that`s about it. Tons of jokes about internet dating are much better. Plus, internet dating isn`t always bad. It`s no different than any other kind of dating. I`ve dated people I met online, most of them were pretty good. I`ve been on much worse blind dates that friends thought were a good match.

From what i`ve read of this comic, it`s not supposed to be a kind of "aw, sad". Because apparently that was his girlfriend, and she died or something.

Wow, DiePSPolice... Finding a life partner is nothing like trying to find a book, although I`m going to have to give you props for that comparison. Using internet dating to find the perfect "match" is like altering an egg`s DNA to change its appearance before it`s even born.

I`d rather go through different relationships that don`t work out, because that gives me experience. Life is all about experiencing things. But nowadays, people are living through the age of "I want it not, so I`m going to get it now." I`m still young, but I like to go through experiences to get to something I want, instead of having it instantly. Fast Food FTL.

"So the truth about it, is that someone dreams of it at night?"

No, it`s saying that an internet relationship wont work if you`re a chatspeaking 15 year old who will never actually meet his `girlfriend`.
