I`m glad this was posted. It`s much funnier to see photographs of these stores in the web than to live in a town where there are a lot of businesses with punny names (I don`t mean just one or two but places where every other business on the main street sounds like a bad joke - I`m not naming names). My natural reaction in that second case has always been to wince and avoid taking my business to such places. I figure if they need to have a cutsey name then the service/products might not be so good and probably tourists will take care of business anyway. I also noticed that there were a lot of closed businesses in this post - probably because people in small towns think like I do? I don`t know if that`s true or even rational but that`s always been my natural reaction, to wince and avoid.

LUVPEACE90-It`s a reference to the Marquis de Sade, an 18th century French aristocrat, revolutionary, and writer who was imprisoned for his controversial and highly disturbing writings. The term "sadism" (ie taking pleasure from the pain of others) is derived from his name.

Some of those were very clever. :-) there`s nothing like a punny name to get business out there. It`s kinda sad, tho, because I got them all...

Near me we also have `Walter Wall Carpets`, and a fish and chip place called `Oh My Cod`, probably others too but I cant think of them right now.

I like these kind of shops though, it shows they have a sense of humour and makes you remember their name!

It`s kinda sad that no one gets #50 because it`s Shakespeare. We`re like "HAHA DICK LIQUOR! lawlz!", but then one refers to something intelligent and we`re like wtf??

But that being said I didn`t get it either haha
