i think that was racist, but why would that reverend say his organization "has been monitoring him since he`s gone back on the air, waiting for something like this to happen"

just seems like they WANT to cause drama

oh, and Sara Silverman never gets in trouble for making racial comments because she is one of the "Chosen race".

That`s right, she`s a god dammned, hook billed, parasitic, blood sucking, immoral, greasy, filthy, stingy, ass lipped, beady eyed, rat JEW!

It was rascist but ignoring all you people who say we`re all too sensitiive/it`s not a big deal/blah blah blah This is his second time doing this and he should have known after all the trouble after that last remark he should REALLY watch what he says. I mean he was lucky enough to get his job back the first time and he`s gonna risk again? There`s gotta be some kind of sense in knowing when to shut up.

Also howard Stern was too much for regular radio and switched to sattelite maybe Imus should do the same.

on that note
"deja vu all over again"

You can`t call them Black, you can`t call them Afican american, you can`t call them ( Black written in the latin tongue )... how should we call them when we dont know their name and we want to emphasize on their ethnicity?

A guy with a skin pigmentation of the same color as the side of the moon that you can`t see during the night... so poetic.

regardless of whether imus is a racist, or if the race card gets played too often or any of that, what really matters is that imus is an idiot...he`s already been in trouble for saying something stupid (i won`t get into whether his first run-in was racism or not, in the very least it was stupid) and now he`s gone and opened himself up to criticism again, instead of keeping quiet and letting things blow over...as someone who is studying journalism in college, i can tell you that he should have known better...

you`re not howard stern, mr. imus...when you try to be hip and with-it, you just do it wrong.

I ABSOLUTELY positively cannot CANNOT believe Rev. Al Sharpton. He say`s his "organization" has been watching and waiting for Imus to slip up again. STALKER. I am sorry to say it but
Al Sharpton is a Nagger. A NAGGER! and a whiner.

I really can`t stand Imus, and I never have. But, I really don`t think he`s racist. That "nappy headed hoes" remark, wasn`t racist. Some of those girls ARE nappy headed. Just because a black man uses it first, doesn`t make it racist if white guy uses it too. If that were the case, then "Far Out", "You dig" and "fo shizzle" would ALL be racist remarks. So would Rock and Roll, bro (short for brother) and Rainbow Coalition.

As far as his last remark, he was refering to how he thinks Pac Man Jones is being picked on because he`s black. Imus was acctually defending the guy. I really don`t like Imus but it`s getting to be that you`re a racist nowadays simply because you`re white. How come nobody has a cow when Carlos Mencia uses the word, "I am a racist!", or when some black comedian calls white people "cracker"? Something`s wrong here.

First point, I agree with most that it was a sarcastic remark, but Imus is ridiculously stupid to bring up ANYTHING about race with big brother watching. He probably couldn`t even say the word "black" without people freaking out at this point. Maybe, it`s time to go back to the ranch you stumbled out of, Don?

And for the people criticizing the reporter for saying "it`s deja-vu all over again" - that`s a famous Yogi Berra quote. It`s a commonly accepted idiom now, just google it and you`ll see what I mean.

Really all he was saying was "Now we know what race he is." Darn double meanings, eh?

I don`t find anything wrong with what he said, whether it be racist or not. Honestly, if someone told me he was arrested six time since 2005, I`d assume he was "African American" too.

It accidentally became racist because people turned it that way. I admit he should have let us in on the actual meaning but oh well. Let it go people. We have so much more to worry about than what that idiot Imus says. Hmmm...gas, mortgages, maybe our soon to be recession?

there is no middle ground because some people refuse to act civil when it comes to race..

Forget race, they don`t even act civil when participating on an internet forum.

People arent whining, they just want to find something that makes headlines..

Some people are too sensitive and some people are to nonchalant when it comes to race.

there is no middle ground because some people refuse to act civil when it comes to race..

trust me..a lot of people are somewhat racist, they just dont know it.

Aren`t al those knuckleheads understanding that any publicity is good publicity for this guy?
I think people are too sensitive.
Back in the 60`s they actually said "I am a racist!" now just insinuating that someone did something wrong because of them being African American (isn`t it backwards, it`s supposed to be American African) is against the rules. Get real, just look at the figures of our prison system. Don`t even try to say that it`s because of poverty and an unfair justice system.

Well... Not trying to stir up the argument here... But isn`t it a rascist stereotype that A WHITE PERSON said something about another "race"? Well... if a black/asian/whatever said "cracker" or "indian" on live tv... Would it be such great of a deal? I doubt that I would see it on the news...

Okay, see, thats racist. I dont think Imus was. It looked to be a sarcastic point. His point was that Blacks get unfairly treated.

Mitchell1192, obviously you have a problem with African-Americans. I pray for you.

i went to college with pacman and i can guarantee you that he earns every bit of trouble he gets into. he is just a basa$$ like that. he was always the tough guy rebel on the team.

and i think what imus said was just stupid, not racist. by now he should know to think before he speaks.

I`m from Rutgers University and I was playing in the pep band at the women`s national championship game after which Imus got himself in trouble. First of all, his recent remark is being blown out of proportion. Secondly, we`re all getting tired of this imus racism debate; like just leave it alone, move on.

What I find more shocking is the remark on monitoring this guy ever so closely to wait for him to slip up again and then they attack him. For god`s sake he`s an old man and was raised that way AND is a shock jockey. Somebody said it once, I`ll say it again. It`s like Howard Stern saying something racist.

He said what he meant was that the person was wrongly jailed because he was black or something like that. I`m black and I don`t really find it offensive. I personally think people take things and people way too seriously. No one calls Sara Silverman out wherever she makes a racial comment. Yes she`s joking but, Imas is a shock jock. It`s like Howard Stern making a racial remark, people shouldn`t take it too seriously.

I seem to remember something about a first amendment? So really, what can Al Sharpton do, besides try to scare out sponsors?

Whatever the case, it should be up to the people to choose whether or not they will further listen to Imus. Not some overly sensitive civil rights activist.

The guy`s older than dirt. He`s gonna make remarks like that because he was raised that way. My granny insists she isn`t racist, but she makes comments like that all the time. He probably had a mammy at some point.
