Oh well, since lying about the alleged dangers of allegedly more potent pot is now an annual tradition (Remember “Pot 2.0” anybody?), there’s always next year.
Fortunately, the AP did at least demonstrate the good sense to speak with SUNY Albany Professor (and NORML Advisory Board member) Mitch Earleywine, who stated the obvious factoid overlooked by the White House: As the potency of pot rises, people simply smoke less of it. Mitch could have also noted that most cannabis consumers actually prefer less potent pot, just as the majority of those who drink alcohol prefer beer or wine over hard liquor.
I guess the general population in USA are just irrational.
And weed did not kill 1 person last year. It killed no one, ever.
gotta love how dis drug killed one person last year and its illegal. while cigarettes killed nearly 200,000 people and its sould virtually everywhere..
same with alcohol
This is largely due to the fact that under controlled conditions (nitrated soil, temperature, light exposure, cross-breeding...blah blah blah...) marijuana plants are able to grow under optimal conditions. Thus, marijuana over the past 30 years is stronger ONLY due to the conditions it has been subjected to. This does NOT suggest that marijuana is now inherently stronger...All this study suggests is that growers are finding more efficient ways to produce marijuana that can get you BAKED AS SH*T!!!11
Actually, that`s not evolution in the sense of goo to you. Throughout all the years those flies have been bombarded with radiation and observed, they have never become anything other than a fly.
"Denying the existence of evolution is akin to denying the presence of gravity."
Not really since we observe gravity and its effects daily, but I challenge you to put forth an example of macro-evolutionary change having been observed in a laboratory.
Oh wait, that`s just how Religion works.
"it`s not natural selection, it`s artificial selection if humans are causing it."
sorry friend, but humans are as natural as earthquakes or tapeworms.
and unbeknownst to these worried government officials, higher potency in marijuana means that a user need smoke less of it to achieve the desired effect, cutting down on tar and smoke inhalation. higher potency pot is EVEN SAFER than the utterly harmless low-potency pot.
Can someone tell me what cigs make you feel afterward, because I`ve personally have never smoked one and never will.
I really want to smoke now. Haven`t toked in a month or so, or done any drug.
He`s not your buddy, guy.
It`s not sublime, either. They sing a cover of the song, but they don`t sing the original that`s usually (and mistakingly) attributed to Bob Marley.
More like proof of artificial selection.
Except THC may provide some other evolutionary benefit to the plant that outweighs the disadvantage, jangofett600. Adding to that, marijuana plants may continue to have increased potency because humans continue to grow them regardless the THC concentration. That is, we`re not causing the species to go extinct.
I`m not saying this is necessarily evolution, but it could be.
and Evolution=change over timeMarijuana changed its potency over time so it is an example of evolution
and it could just be how people grow the marijuana, not the actual plant changing
it`s not natural selection, it`s artificial selection if humans are causing it.
Who said sex was a sin? You can also do as many drugs as you want, but they are bad for you.
Who often do you go, and how much do you drink? Pretty good buzz, eh?
Communion is good, mk?
