This is really sad. I was watching G4 at three on the morning when I saw on the bottom of the screen that George Carlin had died. It seems that being funny is no cure to death, as much as everyone wished it was.

RIP George Carlin, it seems you did need parts that badly.

He was one of the greatest. In the class of Pryor, Gleason, and Hope.

In his memory, I`ll now give the Hippy Dippy weathermans last forcast.

Forcast tonight, DARK! Remaining dark throught the night, with widely scattered light in the morning. RIP, George. The worlds forcast will forever be darker without you!

What is happening.

I heard about this on Wiki first thing this morning.

Okay, First Rodney Dangerfield, then Richard Prior....now Georges Carlin. And to make it worse, Mitch Hedberg died somewhere in 2005 I think.

I am an absolute stand-up comedy fanatic, ever since I was 10 I have been watching videos and TV shows and everything because I love and respect the talent these people have.

I love laughing, and making people laugh. Someone who does it professionally, I just admire that.

In the past 5 years, my 3 favorite comedians of all time have passed. Rodney, Prior and Carlin...

I hate it...

I still have Eddie Murphy, Jerry Seinfeld (who is funnier than the show makes him out to be), Chris Rock, the Dane train, Dane Cook, Dave Chapelle, Denis Leary, Jamie Foxx (check out the Foxxhole on satellite radio, he owns it), Russell Peters...and a bunch of others...

The above list came from me looking at my DVD collection, and I have them all on DVD.

Another great one gone too early. My earliest Carlination memory was seeing him on TV as Anne Marie`s clean cut agent on That Girl in the 60`s. His dress evolved from Brooks Bros. to Fabulous Furry Freak Bros. but he always looked at life the way everyone should.
Put on Occupation Fool and Smile. Just try not to!

George Carlin
1937-2008
Good Night, funny man...

George was a true insperation for me. His philosophies on life and everything help shape me since i was a kid. If i ever considered a celbrety a role model, it would be george. I have been to 2 live shows and met him in person after a show and at a book signing. When i told him that he was a role model for me when i was growing up, he said my parents should have been shot for letting me watch him as a kid. Then he laughed and said he was flattered. True Carlin form, even off stage. I heard of his passing on the Bob and Tom show this morning on my way to work and i had to turn off the radio for the rest of the drive in. It was the first time i`ve been choked up about a death since my grandfather died when i was 12. I didn`t feel this sad when my father died 6 years ago...

Comedy won`t be the same. With comedians like Carlos Mencia, George Carlin was one of the last of his breed.

RIP George.

I don`t know if any of you saw the movie Dogma but George Carlin played the catholic priest. Mr. Carlin was a HUGE part of me and older brother`s lives. We would listen to him intently and for the most part, all the time. My Mother had all of his vinyl records and we pretty much wore those puppies out. In fact Mom bought the collection on CD (its a compilation of the `best` of GC) because the vinyls just wouldn`t play anymore. I called my brother last night at 11 pm and we both actually cried. You will be missed George... you will be missed terribly. :-(

Well that sucks. He will be missed by millions. I thought he was one of the best ever.

His views on religion and the afterlife are coming to mind. I wonder what trouble he`s getting himself into now. I`ll say this, if there`s a heaven and he`s not there, I don`t want to go either.
