I knew it was a hoax the first time I saw it. If you cant cook an egg with 100 cellphones, there is no way you can pop corn with 3.

I`d go look up the video (It was Brianiac I think) but I cant be bothered...

Yes, just check Snopes.com. They already confirmed that you can`t pop corn or cook and egg with a phone. Still funny, though...

    And who is actually surprised?

If cell phones could make kernels pop...imagine the cell phone was in your pocket...it would start burning...like..a LOT...

I must be missing something here. The bluetooth-headset maker were hoping that people will see this video and think

"Hmm, radiation from cellphones are dangerous and potentially delicious. The only way to solve this is to buy a device that adds more radiation, so that I can keep my phone in my pocket where it will fry my nuts."

    Seriously??

Why does everybody associate radio waves with heat? I mean, it DOES give some heat, but you wouldn`t even feel it.

Microwaves make popcorn pop by vibrating the water inside the kernels, causing heat to form, and then pressure builds up. If cellphones had the same effect (although they`re not even the same wave type) they would cause the water in human bodies to heat as well. Fried human anyone?

Did u know that some scientists managed to cook some pork using mobile phones. When asked if it affected the phones at all, they said...

"the phones still work but there is some crackling"

What amazes me is that myself and several others left posts about the original video debunking it... I even included a link to the debunking on Snopes.

People thought the original was real? Lmao.
Besides the fact that common sense sort of states it`s impossible, the camera work was clearly only *supposed* to look amateur, and the actors sucked.

Seems like a pretty bad marketing campaign, since even if it motivated people to get headsets they only *might* get the Cardo ones.

XD I`m the one who submited the original video, and sadley, I thought it was real.
BTW, at the end of the article, the guy said he doesnt even know how they did the effect. Jeez, that is gonna bug me for the next 3 minutes.
    Sorry guys!

The popcorn thing seemed a little far-fetched. Cell phone signals couldn`t possibly heat up corn kernels to the point where they would pop like that. I`m not surprised at all.
