""they swear on the FAQ that they dont promote any specific ideology/theology"
Yes, a theme park dedicated to the very basis of one religion isn`t promoting that religion at all. No sir."
Its actually the basis of almost every western religion...I think its a horrible book that promotes nothing but violence and horrifying morals, but regardless it is a historical text (not to be confused with a text of actual history), and a portrayal of its contents doesnt sound too horrible or forcing the religion itself on anyone.

Im an atheist but the park doesnt seem too horrible or anything, they swear on the FAQ that they dont promote any specific ideology/theology. As long as they dont make jesus out to be some superhero that really existed back then I dont see too big of a problem. People go to Disney world even though they know none of those stories are real either...

I live around here and I believe this place actually isn`t going to open. Although i would be for it, this place needs a new theme park after opryland left.
But only if they will have rollercoasters!!

"Bible Park USA…it’s a one-of-a-kind, unlike-anywhere-else-in-the-world “edutainment” experience offering guests of all ages a visualization experience of well-loved, familiar Bible stories and a taste of life in ancient Biblical times."
Germany, holy land in Florida. Fail.

"They should print on your ticket "WARNING: MAY BE FACT-FREE""

YOu could also put that on any museum ticket. While we know some things many of it is not fact. They say they know the meat eating dinosaures from the rest from the shape of their teeth, but that has been proven wrong in current applications. So none of it is fact yet, or until we can time travel.

I think there needs to be a patsafarian themed park.

They are not being accurately represented, and I feel that that is inhumane and simply unjust!

Let`s hope they don`t stick to their characters too much. funny, they conveniently left out reenactments of all my favorite bible stories, like the one where god kills everybody.

EDUtainment? How about we stick to ENTertainment. Theme Park is Theme (I don`t have a clue what that means, but all the cool kids are doing it, so I am too).

This is about as educational as the back of my balls.

"now that the internet is slowly turning atheist"

The internets are just the international vehicle in an inexorable march in the general direction of rationality, reason, and science. Happiest days of my life were when I believed in Father Christmas. Was it real? No, but to be fair, I was a child at the time. Was I happy? You betcha, happiest days of my life.

Now that I`m an ADULT, do I believe in Father Christmas? No. Wish to hell I did.

The happiest guy in the village is the mentally deficient village idiot. Sometimes, I wish I was that guy. Father Christmas was pretty cool.

i see no roller coaster, log flumes, pirate ship, or that ride where the cars are on a hinge that swings from side to side while they go up and down and whip you around really fast in a circle then go backwards ride.

Anything that can be built can also be torn down. Damn those Christians, now that the internet is slowly turning atheist, they are desperate.

this is being built 30 minutes away from where i am. nobody is excited about it at all. the newspaper here even made fun of it, saything there needs to be an adult section and such for it. when asked who this was being built for the owner replied that everyone could go, "baptists, catholics, ect..." but when asked about other non-christian religions, he had no answer but to let them come and learn the word or something like that

My goodness, I had to laugh at that. Guess they couldn`t afford the robots like they have at chuck-e-cheese`s, huh?

"walking between 25-foot-high walls of water that serve as a screen showing a dramatic movie depicting the Israelites` departure from Egypt, culminating in a fiery view of Moses and the Burning Bush... "
When i read this sentence, I thought 3 things.

The first: Holy crap, I love water and that would be so kickass!

The second: I bet that would be easy to break...

The third: Can the guy controlling it breathe underwater?

...Honestly, the people here using this as more cannon fodder to bash the "brainwashing Christians" should be ashamed. You`re acting no better than the stereotypical image of Christians you persecute.

Almightybob, the historical representation that the fact sheet is talking about refers to the history of Christianity. It`s not saying that the bible stories are a historical fact. Hence "The Park is without a particular religious ideology or theology and does not promote specific religious beliefs of any kind."

and six flags greatescape (probably the worst of the six flags parks but the only amusment park anywhere near me) has a really big pirate ship ride.
i rode it like 20 times one time. haha i like it when you float up out of your seat and your like beyond vertical and it feels like your gonna fall out.

i wonder if they have like... any really cool thrill rides. like a rollercoaster or maybe like one of those things that brings you way up in the air and drops you then shoots you back up or something. like it could drop you to "hell" and shoot you back up to "heaven" at like 100 mph. that would be a cool ride.
or like a jesus rollercoaster thats like really really big and fast.
then i might go.
cus i really like big fast rides. haha

I commented on the Comment page. They will LOVE what I said.

What an idiotic concept. People should really just stop preaching something that isn`t real. The Bible has been written and rewritten HUNDREDS of times. And even the original one is false. The world was not formed in just a week, that is just outrageous, and a crazy statement. I hate the people that preach it so strong, that they brain wash children.

Change it into a brand new Six Flags. At least it will generate more possible jobs, and the teenagers will actually LOVE it. I love Great Adventure.

Atheists FTW!

I just jumped to the laughably titled "Facts" page and read these 3 sentences:

"The Park is without a particular religious ideology or theology and does not promote specific religious beliefs of any kind"

"[The Park is} providing an authentic historical representation"

"Some of the stories from the Old Testament include: The Creation; The Parting of the Red Sea; Noah’s Ark; Abraham and Isaac of Mt. Mariah"

Ah, so now Creation is accurate historical representation. Gotcha.

They should print on your ticket "WARNING: MAY BE FACT-FREE"

I`ve actually been there courtesy of the Christian school I got expelled from. x_X
It wasn`t very fun...

"First Hard Rock Theme Park and now a Bible Park, that`s an odd combination"

When entrepreneurship goes too far, probably.

No rides whatsoever? Man, it just goes to show that church people have no originality or creativity. Like this.

Found this in the FAQ section:
"5. What type of experience does your firm have with projects like this one?
The Bible Park USA would be my firm’s second themed park project; we are currently developing the Hard Rock Theme Park in Myrtle Beach, SC, that will open in the spring of 2008."
First Hard Rock Theme Park and now a Bible Park, that`s an odd combination...

"For example, in the Teen Area, the anchor attraction is “The Bible: The Greatest Adventure Ever,” an exciting indoor experience. Additional attractions in the Teen Area include a coffee house, a music store, an arcade (no violent games) and other features designed specifically to attract teens, interest them and provide a safe, positive environment."

Non-violent videogames, safe and positive enviroment... COFFEE? Sounds like a truly poisonous place to visit.

Well you should feel uncomfortable Tekno, this seems like one of the more nefarious works of the RRR {Radical Religious Right} just like the creationist "museum." I hope they don`t plan on treating Noah`s ark like a historic fact...
