Coco Crisp intentionally gets hit and decides to rush the mound. Nothing like an all-out fight to get Friday started.

Coco Crisp is a little errogant f**k. He is appealing the suspension he recieved, and then stated he faked going to first before charging the pictcher. He deserves the suspension because he didn`t let it go, and decided on taking matters into his own hands.

Yet another reason why I hate the Red Sox.

he got intentionally hit because because he slid hard into second the game before, after getting blocked in a previous steal atttempt. hes a tough guy and hes not going to take getting intentionally hit.

yeah, his real name isnt coco, its Coveli, if that makes it any better.... but that was a sick fight, good to see a real fight in baseball after a while. and the suspensions that were handed out are bullpoo, do other fans agree?

the best name is baseball has to be Milton Bradley. Covelli is Coco`s real name. Milton Bradley was actually named Milton Bradley. I guess his parents were playing battleship when he was born.

I love how Jason Bartlett (my favorite player EVER, wearing #8 for the Rays) tries to stay out of the fight but eventually gets pulled in a little.

lol who ever said that hockey is more interesting than baseball must be smoking some good poo... baseball has by far more history here than that crappy ass sport that, by the way, is dying in this country. it`s a dratin shame that an amateurish event by mma beats out in terms of ratings the final game of the playoffs of a "major" league in this country, next thing you know mls is beating you guys lol...
anyway is gonna be an interesting year in the al east... the devil rays (i`ll always call them this) are a young team and they don`t really mind about the unwritten rules... they had a couple of fights with the yankees this spring too.

And Phoenix, it wasn`t Scot Shields (go Angels), it was James Shields of the Tampa Bay Rays.

I knew people were going to be ignorant about this one, and that I could count on primetime to set things straight. People can`t even get past his name (which is actually Covelli, by the way).

"How can you tell it`s intentional? Players get hit all the time and it`s rarely thought that the pitcher did it on purpose."

Maybe because the pitcher, Scott Shields, admitted after the game he intentionally hit him, thats why it is sure it was on purpose. It`s sad that a pitcher has to take out his frustration by hitting a player. Coco was protecting himself and making sure Shields didnt get to pitch that series again against one of his players so Shields could do the same thing again and hit another player.

"you gotta realize that this is professional baseball in which case the pitchers know where they are pitching... its not "accidental"" i guess thats a good point, its just i`ve never seen anyone rush the mound after getting hit, youd think it`d happen more often if all the pitches that hit people were intentional

What was the outcome of this? I had to work so I missed the game. Was Shields thrown out too?

you know its intentional because first before the game Coco talked about it...secondly watch the pitch closely...you can completely tell he done it on purpose. Thats not to say that most of the time it really just is an accident but clear as day he was aiming for Coco

Wait, did you mean that he got in the guys way? Or was he just covering the bag?

Male 533
Primetime kid, why would the shortstop run to the opposite side of the bag just to block a steal?

Wait, don`t we already have boxing and hockey? Then again, if I was forced to play baseball, I`d be so bored, I`d start picking fights too...

i saw this on tv yesterday too... the slow-mo where coco dodged the first punch was pretty impressive until i remembered that he used to box... but the stupid pitcher deserved an ass-whoopin for doin that on purpose... and for the people saying "how do you know its intentional?" you gotta realize that this is professional baseball in which case the pitchers know where they are pitching... its not "accidental"

Our baseball league show take a page out of Korean baseball rules. In Korea, you can charge the mound, but only if you fight like this:

Korean "Basebrawl"

Im a Red Sox fan as i guess you can tell...after the game 2 nights ago the rays must have been pretty upset that they were no longer # 1 in the league...Red Sox gave them a good whooping...swept them clean in the 3 game series and put the rays to shame. Woot Woot!!

I watched this last night live on TV...i waited for it to come out on YouTube so i could post it here...im glad it made it. So far the only other person besides me who knows exactly what went on is Primtimekin.

Now about Coco...i think he was completely justified in rushing the mound. I mean instead of trying to play good baseball the pitcher decided to go ahead and intentionally hit him with the ball...as i always say dont start no sh*t there wont be no sh*t

...i thought this was going to be about cereal...
it`s unusual to see so much activity on a baseball pitch; when ever ive happened upon it before its always bored me rigid within minutes.

I think its funny how nearly everyone who posted here has no idea about baseball.

Last night Coco Crisp attempted to steal second and was blocked off by the shortstop. Crisp got mad and the next time he went to second he lifted his legs when he slid and knocked him out. Thats why Shields hit Coco and thats why he charged the plate. And I bet most of the people who dont like baseball are the ones who like to see a 42-35 Football game.

I don`t care much for baseball, but in that slow-mo replay, it`s quite apparent that this coco crisp character knows how to dodge a punch. I was fairly impressed.

How can you tell it`s intentional? Players get hit all the time and it`s rarely thought that the pitcher did it on purpose. And the sox always seemed to me like arrogant jerks, Manny Ramirez makes me sick.

The pitcher shouldn`t have intentionally hit him in the first place. He knew the Sox were going to give them a good ol` fashioned ass whoopin` so he decided to hit a batter. Not smart for a lot of reasons. It pisses off the other team AND it puts a runner on base.

The whole thing was unnecessary, just play the game.

a note to Coco Crisp- try as you may, you`ll never be as cool as a hockey player. You play a ridiculously boring sport. Try lacing up the skates and lets see how you throw down.

Diddie, i too thought this was going to be a mascot fight. Ha.

Coco Crisp has always been a little bitch. He should have just taken the hit and play the game. And for the pitcher, that was just out of frustration, the Sox laid down a whuppin on them.
