I wonder how many people, after seeing this ad, tried this, and failed in the most hilarious ways possible...

The reason helium baloons float away is that they`re less dense then the air around them. In the helium tank, the gas is compressed and more dense than the air around it. Regardless of how much the canister weighs, it will never float away.

Was that a commercial? I missed the point of it. It would be cool if you could really do it, I would go for it. But besides all of the things already listed, the helium would escape through the fabric. It would have to be lined with something to keep it trapped inside. Not to mention the fact you wouldn`t get a decent seal with duct tape.

It would take about 4000 balloons to lift someone who is 110 pounds.

drat.

Well, you could use hydrogen which is even lighter, but that has a nasty tendency to, you know, EXPLODE...

Yeah, not possible. Especially considering the fact that using helium is not harnessing wind, and like a lot of people have already said, it takes a lot of helium to lift a person. It`d be easier to sky dive. Cheaper, too.

"KoalaMeatPie
Fake.

The boy weighs more than that Helium tank, and you don`t see the helium tank fly away."

Really are you sure cause you know I really thought this was real... but if you say so.

It`d still be fun to fill your clothes with helium and walk around, just for the hell of it. :]

I did the math for chemistry once.... and it would take over 16,000 helium-filled balloons to get me off the ground. Too bad it wouldn`t work like that though....

For crying out load, they did this on Mythbusters. It literally took a large room filled with helium balloons tied to a small girl to get her off the ground - the number of balloons was well in the thousands.

It`s probably some sort of teen comercial, for like, Zoo York or Myspace or something. No sense in paying porche a bunch of money if it`s gonna be a levi commercial, and why would teens have a porche? it`s gotta be some sort of teen culture thing.

I really would like to know what they`re pushing. A very entertaining commercial, but if they`re not going to display the product then...I`m sad.
Wait a second...I think it was the camera!

it took thousands of helium balloons to get a little girl off the ground in mythbusters.the helium would leak out of his clothes. and the tank doesnt fly because it is made with thick metal. its made to not fly away!!!

The boy weighs more than that Helium tank, and you don`t see the helium tank fly away.
