I have to agree with all 10 ways, especially the last one, the Metallica one.

i love Kanye West.
i wouldn`t care if he showed up 2 hours late...
his songs are amazing.
plus, waiting for somthing makes it that more enjoyable.

Thank goodness my favourite band does none of those, but maybe one... the old hits, but it`s sort of understandable.

Who gives a damn what the Dixie C*nts have to say? Their "music" sucks big time....they need to keep their political views to themselves and not bore people with their unwanted opinions...just SHUT TFU and play your so-called "music"....!!!

I disagree with "metallica sucks ass". Sure, there recent albums sucked, but they are pioneers in metal and thrash. (Ride the lightning, Master of Puppets, etc.)

I liked the one about not getting drunk before a show. *cough* Dragonforce *cough*

Should have put taking more than 4 years to come out with an album! Why does Guns and Roses need 10+ years to come out with freakin Chinese Democracy, if that CD isnt ridiculously amazing ( if it ever is released) fans are going to be pissed.

really the solution is just to get bands that don`t need money as a verification to make music. people listening to your music and it being good should be good enough

Add Marilyn Manson to that "over egotistical" one... I believe the man said something like "My fans are the only intelligent ones in America." A paraphrase, yes, but I`ve never been so annoyed by something a celebrity said.

i despise metalica. they f`d everything up. and as for the argument that they are loosing `SO SO MUCH MONEY!!!` from downloaders, bs. as artists they don`t make anything from record sales. musicians get like 90% of their income from touring and publicity. Lars is just douchtastic. he needs to be kneed in the balls hardcore.

They missed getting you to sing the songs for them.

"Come on guys, you know this one!!"

Erm, it cost us many hours and £100+ to get here to see you, any chance you could sing it for us?

Uhmm, 3 more huge points missed.

1. Condescending to the standards of overzealous fans/record companies. (A.K.A. Selling out)
-That`s another thing that Metallica pulls off quite well.

2. Taking several years just to release a mediocre album. Sure, touring and personal issues get in the way, but you`re only job is making music, so you shouldn`t take 4 years to release an album that lasts about 40 minutes. (GREENDAY)

3. This goes along with my second point. I like some bands that haven`t released any new material in about 2 or 3 years. I expect a full album of new material to be out by now. Instead, I`m hearing news of a full-length LIVE CD/DVD. Thank you, Saosin and Underoath, but no one cares about live videos and songs! If I want to hear songs live, I`ll go to a concert. If I want to see videos of them live, I`ll go on youtube.

not to be a huge fanboy or anything...

but let the napster/metallica thing go, i mean it happened like 15 years ago. and after the world told them to stfu they eventually did.

I think the big deal with the Dixie Chicks isn`t so much what they said...but where they said it...wasn`t it in Europe? It just made them seem even more lame.

i think an artist is compleatly at fault if their fan base is f-ing retarted. the dixie chicks should have known that their fan base was against free speech and stuff like that. afterall, they brought in that audience for some reason

metallica sucks ass. they are the definition of selling out

yeah, and if a band sucks live, its cause they really do suck and their just rich enough to sound good with special technology

see:fall out boy, ashlee simpson, avril lavigne

Becoming Uselessly Drunk or High Before a Show

Exactly what my friend and his band did before our school`s Battle of the Bands. But the thing is, they only got high enough so they can feel the effects, but not so much that they couldn`t play. They were actually pretty good.

I feel the pain of people who have had canceled concerts. I was supposed to see "Yes" on July 22nd, and around a month ago, they canceled the concert for no apparent reason.

I graduated from the high school that the other Simpson sister was supposed to perform. They won a contest to `earn the right` to have her visit. She did her Saturday Night Live SNAFU.. for all I know, they never did hear from her again. bitch..

one time, metallica came to our town to play a concert.
we could here the music playing as if it were on the radio and we live two miles away from where they were performing.
The people who ran it told them to turn it down, but they just blasted it louder, and they got banned from performing there again

i hate it when i go to a concert and the band`s lead singer lets the audience sing every other line. it`s like, "dude, i paid to hear YOU f*cking sing."

And the thing about singing old songs. Which is why I love Tina Turner. As she had said she hated "whats love got to do with it" ANd didnt want to sing it. It became one of her greatest hits, and she still does it becasue she knows thats what her fans want, and it`s what helped make her TINA.

that was good...

I hate paying for a concert and hearing the artists political views...I mean..if you feel strongly about something, WRITE A SONG ABOUT IT. I`m there for some good tunes...not a lecture. I Bruce Springsteen...but refuse to pay for a ticket..it`s not what I overpay to see a concert for.

Also, Metallica pisses me off because they spent years singing about anarchy and destruction and all that good stuff....and as soon as the people who listen to all that their music, they turned into bitches...I think it would have been much different if John Denver or something went after napster...oh well...Metallica blows anyhow

"Sucking at live performances, showing that the majority of their music is computerized and mixed in a studio.

See also: DragonForce"

Even though I love them, I have to agree with you there, that and the fact they do every concert wasted.

the "Be Metallica" section was the best.

when napster was still in existence i thought about getting some of the songs off there. i`m glad i didn`t :-)

kinda can`t blame people (like miley cirus) for "upping ticket pricing", she doesn`t control that, disney and her dad do. and on top of that, most artists charge a flat amount for their concerts. I bought 2 tickets to incubus when they came to houston, paid $50 for the pair; near show time needed 2 more tickets they were going in the $250-300/ticket because ticketmaster was sold out. in most cases its not the artist, its the greedy bastards who buy out ticket vendors and then scalp them...

Mouichi (<3 <3 <3) is right. Thing with Dixie Chicks is that they lost their original fan base but they sorta got replaced by bush-haters, so I dunno, maybe being yourself isn`t so bad.

The only one I didn`t agree with was the Dixie chicks argument. Just because their fan base doesn`t like what they have to say doesn`t mean they should pretend to be someone else.

People at Bonnaroo wanted to kill Kanye West for what he did. Not to be racist, but the majority of the black folks who went went for Kanye, and they were completely let down.

You`ll read that Pearl Jam had a hard time taking down their stuff and that he had to wait for them to clear out. FALSE!!!

He waited until Phil Lesh was done with his set so he could be the only person performing at Bonnaroo at the time. Phil Lesh ended his set at 4:15. Kanye went on at 4:16. By the time he went on stage, all you could here were boos.

I hope he never comes to any music festival I go to ever again. It is a waste of bill space (he had fifth billing behind Mettalica, Pearl Jam, Chris Rock, and Jack Johnson) and his poor fans wasted hours waiting for him, when they could have been watching Phil Lesh or sleeping.

I knew the last one would be about Napster, i mean i love free music as much of the next guy but when you have 600 pages of people downloading your songs fro free, thats alot of money that you re rightfully owned. Just find a different download site if your desparate

The `ignoring who your fans are` argument made no sense. Artists are supposed to be themselves, not tailor themselves to everything the fans expect, then they`re just not being real. I`d rather be a fan of someone I disagree with, and is being honest than someone I agree with, and is lying. That`s the only one I really had any beef with.

And I am being DEAD SERIOUS....

Who the fu*k is Barbara Streisand?

I know one of her songs "People" and I know her ugly effing face from a few gay boring movies.

Who the fu*k does she think she is charging such a high price for one of her shi77y concerts? I really hate her...and I share a common birthday with the bit<h.

Dragonforce is awesome studio music...after spending an hour on google video watching them live, I agree, they aren`t as good.

But consider this: They sing about knights, dragons and a bunch of other geeky medieval subject matters....the crowd of a Dragonforce concert would consist of geeks...and honestly, a band that aims to entertain such a lot of people, should stick to the studio...especially since most of their fans only download their torrents.
