Full marks for effort, though.
It doesn`t matter. But the most interesting thing about this video is that you have pretty much a good random sample of the A) intelligence / B) Religious beliefs of the i-a-b community. The stats match what I`ve long suspected. (BTW, it was also a pretty good insight to other things too... take a wild guess)
I won`t say the results because I think I`ve already offended enough people by putting pie before cake.
Oh by the way, Legacy... you don`t sound stupid. No, I don`t agree with most of what you said, and I`m not going to go there, but you influenced the intelligent side of the scale.
Not that I`m picking on Christianity here, all major world religions have more or less the same message, if you`re not with us, then you`re going to burn in hell for eternity.
How`s that for intolerance?
The central message of Christianity is this:
John 14:1 (NRSV) “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And you know the way to the place where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
atheists are snobby because they think theists are naive for believing in something they can`t prove.theists are snobby because they think atheists are blind for not opening their minds to their beliefs.the only ones who aren`t snobby are the ones who`ve admitted to themselves that no one can ever KNOW the truth until we die, so we should just try to be good people, believe what we believe, let others believe what they believe, and not worry about the specifics.
oh, and i`d definately sue the church for the replacement cost of the phone, plus some for emotional (not to mention theological) damage. i mean what if that person was at her last straw and just trying to find SOME comfort in god... "well, guess it`s suicide for me!"
hehe he should smash the kid too :)
Way to turn the cheek there a-hole minister! Rule number 8472721918302 why religion is bad.
she had it coming, the second the phone rang she either had to turn it off, or get up and leave
Generalizations are stupid.
And Kumquat, I would have to ask you this, for the sake of comparison: Have you ever had an Atheist come to your door while you were trying to nap/masturbate/watch the latest episode of LOST? Probably not. Now, based on personal experience, I can honestly say that it is, more often than not, Christians and Mormons who... er.... "try to make people join [their] little cult." Not atheists.
In fact, I have had so many Christians try to evangelize me in so many locations (my campus, my front door, at the supermarket, in traffic, at work, on TV) that I am half-tempted to start projecting some hot gay porn on my garage door just to keep them at bay.
"But that`s religious discrimination!" Gimme a break. Take another Zoloft and stfu.
anglefan: "Well Mosts athiests are snobby. Or Smugg if you will."Again, no.
Having your cell phone on in a public place where people are listening like a church or a theatre is pretty rude, but walking over and breaking the person`s phone isn`t exactly a fair punishment.
I`d sue that preacher guy.
As for "snobby atheists", I`m an atheist, and I`m not offended, because I don`t think it meant that all atheists are snobby. If it did, however, screw you.
that would be like me saying, "99% of the white people i`ve met have been jerks to me for being a brown guy. So I can safely say that all the white people in the world are f*ckers."
of course that`s not true, cuz I`m from Canada, where there is love all around =D*hugz*
doesn`t sound so innocent now Mr.Jesus-follower-man-guy, does it?
Go on about your life and leave the rest of us alone.
In any case, that wasn`t really acceptable.
But it comes to mind, that when they smashed the cell phone at the live preformance (see link in page 3), I hardly read any "omg that was wrong" posts.
Are you only saying that because he`s a minister.
oh yeah, nice fat preacher. Isn`t gluttony one of the 7 deadly sins?
aetheist`s snobby, perhaps. Born again christians, annoying.
That word. I don`t think it means what you think it does.
In any case, I loathe cell phones, but throwing one on the ground is not acceptable. And he was talking about love? Way to show that "Christian love" minister!
Also, if that person was answering an emergency call, wouldn`t she be a little more distressed than seen in the video? Wouldn`t she be even slightly reluctant to give up her phone? She doesn`t seem to be in any sort of gripping situation; she only seemed to be answering a regular call, which she really shouldn`t have in a church.
I VOTE BABY!SMASH!!!!
Remove your head from your bottom please. There is no such thing as a "snobby atheist".
Anyway..we dont like christianity much because of it`s many stupid undelying rules.
As an atheist, where am I going to spend eternity when I die? Oh yeah..Hell. I dont belive in such nonsense, but your dumbass religion, just like large portion of the rest of them basically states, if you dont think and act like us, you desrve eternal torture.
Way to go!
You have just proved the snobby atheist comment, right.
Good job you guys.
That`s the stupid thing about religion in general- you can`t tell what`s supposed to be literal or figurative. So many holes are caused by this.
A) You should turn off your phone in church.B) He had no right to touch the phone.
Love thy neigbours my a$$. It`s do as I say or else.Of course, the snobby theists are to daft to understand what they preach.
But yeah...shoulda turned it off.
the kid that was crying was annoying the hell out of me.
Testicles, Ch 3, v 11-14.
(Yeah, bad song choice I know but you should get the point)
love love smash! love love
Exactly, while I hate cell phones that was out of line. Ask her to take it outside or turn it off.
Love, love love, love lovey...cellphonesmash...love...Love the love...
Also, I agree with Mauger.
