Call me ignorant of basketball, but I`m not sure why he couldn`t just make the shot in the first place.

Overmann, he was in the process of splitting a doubleteam, which greatly increases the difficulty of the shot, saw he probably couldn`t make it... and so stunned the defense by executing that little piece of brilliance.

Kobe Bryant is the perfect example of everything that is wrong in professional sports. He`s a selfish ego-maniac with no concept of the word `team`. He wants to be the new MJ, but he`ll never overcome that shadow because he doesn`t know how to play for anything other than himself.

If he is being double teamed there must have been a man open. An example why kobe might be the most talented player but not the best player. basketball is a team game kobe is not a team player.

I love soccer... but Kobe is amazing, and I don`t even like the guy. Now you want Amazing... Detroit all the way, perfect example of how a team is suppose to play. Just got back watching my redwings beat the crap out of Dallas, despite all the bull feces calls coming from those refs. Oh well.

Aerionix, you know nothing about the NBA. I`m guessing you haven`t watched more than 5 games in your life, or your knowledge is extremely outdated. It`s so easy to call Kobe a selfish player- EVERYONE ELSE DOES! WHY NOT ME??? Earlier in his career, he was selfish and looked to score before passing, but he`s since matured and has a GREAT understanding of the word "team." Ignorance is cool though, don`t worry about it.

He is averaging 6 assist a game.
And this is old. That is so a few play-off games ago. Which means this is 5 months old. Between this game and game 6 Kobe bought his wife 6 diamond rings.

And im pissed my NO Hornets lost. CP3 4 L-I-F-E!

^ Just to clarify for the idiots who say he is selfish, 6 assists per game is a lot. He was 19th in the league in assists during the regular season, and is 6th in the league during the postseason.

Hmm, the next MJ? i hope not, but a creative and exciting player nonetheless! I think he is a bit self oriented though and those assits might come at least a bit from his need to appear as a team player but who knows

Haha... 100 points in an era where the center wasn`t even a fully established position yet and he was like a foot taller than anybody else in the league.

Besides, he took like 12 billion shots in that game. Oh well, I just hate Chamberlain and all his records.

It`s funny how people call Kobe selfish and egocentric when they don`t know anything about basketball. Stick to what you know best people, which is probably nothing. Don`t comment on stuff you don`t know. As a few people have already pointed out, Kobe is averaging around 6 assists a game. Stop hating on the man because you are a loser who sits at home in your Mom`s basement and he is making millions of dollars, is the best player in the league, is MVP, and has a fine-ass wife.

Regardless of his personal life Kobe is one of the best players to ever play the game. and apparently the league thought he shared the ball enough thats why he got he MVP... 6 assists a game that is good. remember to get an assist the person you pass it too has to make it. you think he only passes 6 times a game. HAHA LAKERS FOR LIFE BABY... Born and RAised in the L DOT A DOT

Considering the only people that still remember and talk about the lawsuit are haters who are mad Kobe is better than their favorite player, I wouldn`t say it is forever-haunting him. And yess, mmmmmm for adultery since a professional athlete doing so should be nothing new. Michael Jordan, just to name one. Karl Malone, just to name 2,3,4,5,6 and more...

He got MVP because his ego-show has garnered him popularity amongst people who like that kind of thing. It`s why I don`t watch basketball anymore, though up until about three years ago I was way into the NBA. My favorite player of all time in John Stockton (all time assist leader, all time steal leader, master of the pick-and-roll) because he knew how to manage the ball, not just shoot it.

Yes, I am sure he got MVP because of his ego. You obviously never did watch basketball or you are mad because John Stockton was a rat-faced bastard who never won a championship.
