Their essences cannot be truly captured on mere video.

WHOISIT12345: "iron butterfly gada da vida sound like Nas Thief`s Theme :P"

Yeah... you mean Nas Theif`s Theme stole the instrumental riff from Iron Butterfly.

alright so that was a good list even though most weren`t riffs. heartbreaker was definitely sped up. it sounded fast. anyone else notice that?

Much better this time around,i grew up with alot of these songs when they were new and i must agree that the older music was much better than todays stuff, with a few exceptions.this project was a great idea for someone to do, maby someone will try to do it one better though.if it does ending up being one hour long to do it properly ill still watch it no problem.

Great idea for a video. Even though this was a pretty extensive list, I feel they missed some obvious ones. And I mean some REALLY obvious ones.

Whole lotta Led there. And Creedence and Skynyrd were there, too! Cool.

Going to see John Fogerty on May the 25th. I can`t wait.

Some brilliant songs there, but where was Jessica by the Allman Bros. band? And Iron Maiden was only formed in 1975. Hopefully there`ll be plenty of Maiden in the 1976-2003, although I haven`t watched it yet.

I`m making notes now...tomorrow I`m going shopping for CDs.

There are some superb groups from this period of time that passed me by completely - unless they were big enough *over here* to be known 20 years later, I`ll have missed them.

Iron Butterfly, for example. A song with the title mangled because the singer was off his head when the song was written and slurred the words...and they published it that way. How 60s is that?

"Paranoid" always niggles at me for being wrongly named - the song is about depression, not paranoia.

Man, I just realized that I really loved all of that music...screw the current stuff.

I didn`t know of a lot of these.

And I call myself a guitarist...

...time for a raincheck.

my favorite period of music.... 60`s and early 70`s is the way to go. to have lived in this time would`ve been legendary

This was certainly better than the last list.

Still no Rush, though.

Can ya really count Edgar winter as a guitar riff? Anyway, great vid, you hit all the ones you missed with the other one, a few problems with the syncing tho

I do like a lot of them. But that was a lot of Led Zeppelin. A tad to much don`t you think? And you give Tony Iommi (The King of Metal Riffs) two songs? Not to mention no Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Doors. That is a big one.

Just the right amount of Zeppelin - they are that good, but too little Hendrix. Just imagine what music would have been without them.

I`m glad Zeppelin got their rightful nods in this one. I still think Nobody`s Fault But Mine should have been included in the post-1976 one.

whats odd is that the only song that was an actual riff and not an intro was Boston`s More Than A Feeling...and that only lasted all of a second

Thumbs up! GOt all I wanted to see there and then some!

Ps:

Dear Led Zeppelin. Just in case you`re reading.
After watching that video I must say this.
Damn it, go on tour again.
We kids love you. Understand that there is a significant portion of youthful culture who would feel completely cheated out of a full life if you didn`t go on tour. No mudsharks nessecary, just music this roung.

Thanks in advance. 8-)

I approve of almost everything on this vud, especially the amount of the Zep.

We may be missing some bands though - The Byrds, The Small Faces, Captain Beefheart and of course King Crimson (tracks: 21st Century Schizoid Man or Court of the Crimson King - I advise those that don`t know what I`m on about to check youtube it`ll be worth you while)

I don`t think he touched enough on Led Zeppelin`s line of work.

Also, I was a little disappointed to not see Fly By Night by Rush on there.
