Did anyone else notice that the subject here was wearing a whole lot of makeup? Here`s how I think that happened...

Producer: "Excuse me fella, would you like to make an easy 50 bucks?"

Stupid Guy: "I`m not gunna fall for that line again - no way."

Producer: "No - it`s not like that, I just want to kick you in the nuts for science."

Stupid Guy: "Look, I`ve heard it all before, ok... I`m not going that again."

Producer: "How about I throw in $15 worth of Cover Girl cosmetics."

Stupid Guy: "I`m in."

Ok. I`d like to think I`d do that for science, and the promise that they`d really get a lot out of it and it`d be really useful and stuff. But I don`t think I`m that noble. I think I`d have to get paid.

AKappy - I have an interest in human biology in general. Nothing professional - I`m just curious about it. The human body is fascinating. Just think about how much processing is required to simultaneously process five complex sensory input streams, control a complex network of muscles finely enough to walk (which uses a huge amount of data from the sense of touch), allow conscious movement and, on top of all that, allow the astonishing brilliance of human thought.

Other animals, too.

For example...the limit on the time/distance for which cheetahs can sprint is not imposed by energy levels or the limits of oxygenation, the obvious things. Cheetahs overheat. Fascinating, no?

Lol, that was hilarious. I hope they paid that poor guy a lot.

It was pretty funny when the scientist says "That`s a lot of force for a little tiny area - OH, HAHA, that sounded funny! Little tiny area! Poor Jason."

Angilion, you know more about being kicked in the balls than any human rightfully should- and I like it.

Legacy15: "You have to take into account a woman`s lower tolerance for for pain."

No, you don`t. There are two good reasons why you don`t:

i) Tolerance for pain varies a large amount on an *individual* basis. You cannot rationally assign one value to women and another value to men.

ii) It isn`t even certain if there`s any *average* difference. I`ve examined the data (where available) for some of the tests. They all have the same problem - they measure the extent to which volunteers will allow some degree of painful but harmless stimulation of nerve endings in their fingers. It is not clear that the same degree of stimulation is equally painful for different people. It`s not really comparable to tolerating pain you can`t instantly stop whenever you want to.

It is true that the results for men *tend* to be a bit higher than the results for women, but that might be due to social pressures on men rather than a genuine difference in pain tolerance.

why would you do that?

Legacy15...the comparison with being punched in the tits is wrong. That hurts, but nowhere near the same amount. The amount of force is lower, the area of impact is larger (so the pressure is much lower) , the sensitivity is far, far lower and the fragility is far lower. So it`s less force on a larger area of a far less fragile and far, far less sensitive part of a person. Not really comparable. There isn`t a good comparison for a female person. Electric shock torture, maybe.

After an unknown amount of time, I tried to crawl out of the gutter and passed out again because the movement made the pain worse. I came too and tried again, very slowly. That time, I crawled to a grassy area by the side of the road and passed out again. I vomited at some point, because I recall lying face-down in the grass in some vomit. Or maybe someone else had vomited there earlier.

After a while, I was able to pull myself up using a small tree that had been planted. I got to the top of the hill about an hour after I started, so probably about 50 minutes after the crash. The pain took several days to abate.

Hopefully that gives people some idea of how extreme the pain is.

A while back, I was doing a hillclimb on a bike, standing in the pedals to get more force. I wasn`t using any means of securing my shoes to the pedals, which is a mistake. One foot slipped off and I came down on the crossbar.

I passed out from the pain and collapsed into the road. I could have been hit by a car. I was lucky in that respect, as I fell into the gutter. I also fell with my head on my arm, so I didn`t sustain any head injuries. An unknown amount of time later, I came too with filthy gutter water running into my mouth. I couldn`t breathe and I wasn`t aware of myself. The pain over-rode my mind to that extent. All I was aware of was pain and fear of dying. Extreme pain paralyses voluntary muscle use, so I couldn`t make myself breathe. I didn`t know then that involuntary muscle use isn`t affected (although I would have realised it if I was capable of thought - my heart was still beating), so I would breath automatically when I stopped trying.

I`ll try to put it in perspective. I`m in permanent mild to moderate pain, so I`ve developed a high tolerance for pain.

I`ve broken two toes and a finger. I heard the second toe snap. That was unpleasant. Obviously, breaking bones hurts quite a bit. The first toe break and the finger break were caused by the digit being forced sideways much too far, the second toe break by an impact to my foot. With the "sideways" breaks, the pain was enough to make me feel a bit unsteady for a few seconds and I had to lean against something and will the pain away. Then I strapped it up and went back to work. The "impact" toe break wasn`t so bad. I just stood quietly on the other foot for a few seconds for the pain to subside a bit and then strapped it up and continued working.

The broken finger hurt, I have to say. That was worse than the toes.

So, I can cope with a fair bit of pain and put it aside.

Yes, Turnshroud, you can. Well, you can`t, but a man could. It`s a very delicate and fragile arrangement and can be irreparably damaged by an amount of force much lower than a kick.

Also, kicking a man in the balls can kill him. Corpses are obviously sterile in this sense. And yes, I do mean "kill" literally. Enough pain will kill a person.

It`s only actually funny to a misandrist or a sociopath (or both).

Lacacy- well, if we`re in no relationship with the guy, we`re fine. But I don`t kick THAT hard.

But funny nontheless

But then, he risked his pride and manhood for scinece.

Can you become sterile by beiung kicked in the nuts?

Did they HAVE to show the replay 17 times in a row, rapid fire like they did? It was painful enough to watch the first time, and then they assault your eyes with the same footage from a hundred different angles. I can`t imagine how much that must`ve hurt O.O

I saw this on TV many months ago. The guy calls himself an "amateur stuntman." That is just a fancy term for "douchebag."
