and then one day these new life-forms will deny existence of a creator.

That`s spectacular. Too bad they can`t breed. =p

This is.. mind blowing. Wow. The possibilities of the technology if it was used as an alternative to the combustion engine...

Do oyu guys know how awesome it would be if You saw those things walking on the beach whenever you went there.
Real World thingy right there.

it`s art. it`s purpose is to make the viewer think and ask questions.
why does it need to have some "real-world" application?

I think it`s premature to expect these things to have a purpose. It`s only a matter of time before someone finds an application for this new method of moving things from A to B. Think of other inventions that might have seemed purpose-less at first... the one that occurs to me is electricity - which was more discovered than invented I suppose, but was initially interesting but without much use. Where would we be without electricity now?

I dont understand the point. Why is he doing this again?

I got to thinking how cool it would be if one of those "animals" ran over some poor little kid on the beach. Maybe there is some technology in them after all.

Calling them animals is drating stupid. There is little to no "technology" behind them.

These are so neat. The technology that he`s creating to make them is going to do great things.

Okay... so what is their purpose exactly?

I wish someone would invent a "walking bycicle" that has legs instead of wheels.

I`ve always thought these were the most impressive creations ... the fluid movement is really hypnotic, you know? Haha. and the fact they`re powered by wind is really interesting.

i wanna ride inside one.

Am I missing the point entirely or does building a bunch or self sufficient beach animals to roam the beaches and do nothing accomplish nothing. I mean I understand the importance of the technology as it might apply to other, productive things, but I just don`t see the point of having herds of those things roaming the beaches just surviving and nothing else. If they could teach them to collect trash stuff maybe they would have a useful purpose?

i definitely don`t think it`s totally useless. a lot of the concepts that he`s proving with this machine can be applied to bigger things. this really is an engineering marvel.

Woaw, it`s awesome, that dude is a hell of a genius, make things simpler and better >.> Anyway it`s totally useless, but still awesome!!

Theo Jansen is the modern day, who was, Galeleio? Davinci? I don`t know but he is a very creative man with a lot of skill. These beasts are wind driven, that`s insane. This must have taken a lot of thought to develop.

Pure genius. Amazing how much can be accomplished when things are simplified...I mean, that`s not so simple that I could do it without years of study in physics and whatnot

but wind, water, tubes, binding......nose, feet, legs, brain...beautiful.

I`d like to see BMW use those concepts in a car one day. I`d buy it.
