witchawitcha hit it on the head. I dunno if no one else caught that or not...but the father is actually refusing medical tests. It`s really a shame, what if there`s something wrong with her that could be fixed?

I would really be interested to see if she grows up normally. I doubt she will, but it would be quite a sight to see a teenage girl with two fully functional faces. Wishful thinking i suppose.

To everyone who says they have stupid religion and shouldn`t worship her, there are so much stupider religions. The multiple cults, Scientologist, and christians believe a girl had a baby and was still a virgin, and that the burn on their grilled cheese is jesus.

These people are crazy for their religion? yeah...

Hey, tuffghost, I feel totally justified in saying their religion is a bunch of stupid crap because I think ALL religions are bunches of stupid crap. This is especially preposterous, however. If she was a goddess she`d probably be doing something besides eating and sleeping and pooting.

COOOL. There are so many people in India, they are bound to have some odd genetic conditions. I feel really bad for her though.

Must have been painful squeezing that one out! But seriously, my girlfriend went to India for her practicum, and in most poor villages, the girls end up marrying their uncle, resulting in many health problems.

"Education" does not denote lack of religion, since religion survives in even the most educated parts of the world, even in great numbers.

There isn`t a `slew` cause three movies came in recently (one of which was a teenager, so that was years ago not yesterday). India just has a larger population, so these things happen more often.

Although.. it`s interesting that despite -that- particular fact we don`t hear about these stories coming from a place like China. I might take a wild guess at that being a cultural thing though...

Hey guys..just a bit of advice...if you dont know anything about the religion and culture of a particular group, don`t talk crap about them. chances are, you`ll just sound like an ignorant elitist moron. If u were born and raised in that village, guess what? you`d probably believe the same goddamned thing.

And for all the people making ignorant cracks about India; maybe you should go read some books or better yet- go to India and learn about the culture.

Maybe then you`ll be less idiotic.

What a cute baby!

BTW: Craniofacial Duplication is a very rare type of conjoined twin. The cause is not known, but the condition is NOT singular to India: most babies with the condition are stillborn, but there was a boy who had facial reconstructive surgery in Germany due to craniofacial duplication in 2004, and there have also been previous cases in California (I think in the 1980s).

I hope the little girl is okay and can get any medical help she needs, but it`s honestly nice to see that she`s beeing treated as a blessing rather than as a freak of nature.

People are really stupid; deformities like this happen in the United States all the time. Usually when the baby is old enough they are operated on to fix whatever deformity the child has. This isn`t uncommon, although this level of deformation is not seen as often as others.

o_o Is India really having an excess of freaky children or are their freaky children just getting more press because large groups of people are worshiping said the child and causing more people to pay attention to them? I mean, this has to happen in more places then just India and we just don`t hear about it, right? o_O

My guess about the cause of increased Indian "mutation:"

Increased malnutrition.

Ja. OK. Maybe not. Maybe it just *seems* like there are more, but other countries have cases, too..

Why do so many Indians keep having messed up babies? Is there something in their genetics or do they just have weird kids?
Also, I feel sorry for that baby. I have a feeling it`ll die soon...

^ I think she probably means that people are not just throwing her into the trash or going "OMG WTF IS THAT S***!!!", which is actually quite a good thing. The baby could be otherwise 100% normal, who knows.

SupaGal, you may dislike Bekll for her (apparent) ignorance in her post about incest yesterday (especially in a global view of incest, one can never be 100% right nor 100% wrong), but you need to make sure you get your own facts right before making any other personal attacks.

SupaGal shut your yapper. Positive thoughts? SHE HAS TWO FACES!! There is nothing positive about that.

Genetig mutation is exactly what it is. What else do you think it is? Gift of the gods?

And, according to wikipedia (which may or may not be accurate), this case *is* a genetic disorder.

And really, most birth defects are genetic in nature. THe non-genetic disorders of birth (for example being strangled by the umbilical cord) does not cause this kind of physical anomaly. Mostly genetic disorders cause physical abnormality.

^ Actually, congenital diseases ARE genetic mutations.

Genetic Mutations also are not neccessarily due to inbreeding. Inbreeding only INCREASES the chances of a genetic mutation to occur.

I think that it`s great that people are beginning to attach positive thoughts to those who are physically different. It has been too long that people have mistreated people who look different and it`s great to see the change.

Bekll, I don`t think that this a genetic mutation (which arises from inbreeding) and thus YOU are the one who needs to be educated.

I was wondering if it could be attributed to inbreeding... While I completely respect their religious views, I`m just a little concerned... The young girl who was born with a parasitic twin attached and now this child with two faces? Oh! And the shortest girl in the world...

I hope everything works out for her, though. :)
