Hip-Hop Stars to be Outed in New Book

Submitted by: fancylad 9 years ago in

Former music-industry insider is throwing hip-hop singers out of the closet. Right? Wrong? Anyone want odds on Eminem?

First off this is one of the coolest IAB things ever; rappers that are gay! Fantastic! some names of rappers that I really freaking think SUCK SOME ROUND HAIRY SWEATY GREASY RUMP!!! Thank you!

Carlos Mencia made a sweet diss of Kanye on his show after that Kanye lost all his cred! :)

I do like some rap/hip-hop. I tend to not like popular artists; underground rap tends to be cooler and more "real". I like my flows with a cool beat. Hyphy is great it is more fun to listen to than alot of rap and E-40 is solid.

Cunninglynguist has a really skilled song there; I listened to a lot of the links- that`s one artist that was really cool, sweet flow great beat!

January by urban community I mean inner city. Its taboo in the inner city to be gay. Sure these artist will be able to attract the gay community, but from the "hood" where most rappers get their respect from being gay or not is a serious issue.

And chode095, we were a small time group. We were going to perform in Biscayne Bay as a part of a festival but we were the headliners. And by offer me a spot I meant he will take me to his studio (he owns one) and we will lay down tracks and then he will take it to the record company. The company is local so it probably wont be on google. And his name use to be Da Don so it might be there as that.

why do you have to categorize every artist? west coast mid west east coast south,

and "He offered me a spot but I said no. Right now I just do freestyles on corners."

you cant get signed then offer a friend a record deal like that. if you could do that, some guy that just got signed could sign his 1 yr old nephew too. the record deal would have to hear some sort of demo of yours, which you SHOULD have somewhere downloadable or viewable/listenable on the internet, which you obviously dont, and where the hell are you rapping on corners HAHAH

and if you guys were anywhere near good enough to get signed, then googling Proj3ct boiz and/or d1nero SHOULD result in SOMETHING. but alas, nothinig. guess u guys sucked

Okay, I`m really confused here.
When you say looking forward to seeing you on the news do you mean as a criminal or has an expert. Then when you say not even the paper man do you mean Not even the paper, man OR not even the paperman? And what do they have to do with the previous statement?

"But we shedded our "stupid" "
Shedded isn`t a word. Irony is a bitch.

Red5TheFinn, how many times did you contradict yourself?

I never did bring out race but if your white, then using your logic you cant say Soulja Boy`s dancing sucks since you yourself wouldn`t know about dance. Thats like Paris Hilton calling someone anorexic.

Congratulations, you have mastered the moves of 1980s movies. Give yourself a pat on the back.

Do us all a favor and put a bullet in your head. Soulja Boy sucks, His dancing sucks. White people cant dance, sure... but black people cant bob their heads. That is the one thing we have learned to to better than the rest. Looking forward to seeing you on the news, oh yeah you`re not good enough to be on the news, not even the paper man. You`re just pathetic man, you arent an expert you arent the sh*t you`re nothing like everyone else. But we shedded our "stupid" a long time ago. But you will always be stupid. Thats the way you were made. Besides, the world needs idiots, what else are we going to laugh at? other than everything having anything to do with you of course.

Wow. I`m not surprised at all. Any guy who color co-ordinates his clothes, has a different hat and shoes for every one of his outfits is quite metro to say the least. Not to mention the fact these guys seem to try to all wear the same color on the same day. "So what are you wearing? Blue? No, can`t, my blue is in the wash. How about green? Alright girl~friend!"

and this is why I listen to rock and metal...ppl don`t care if ppl are gay...i mean look at Rob Halford and his band Judas Preist, he`s come out as gay and ppl still love him no matter what, Judas Priest is still going stron...and of course u have Queen with Freddie Mercury... so if these hip-hop and rap artists are gay, lets just hope the culture doesn`t go down in flames.

AZ is good. Cunninglynguist has 1 good song and a name that sounds like they made in 6th grade. Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. Worst.Name.Ever.

Most of the artist there are good but hip-hop has evolved from simple corner rapping. Snap will change but that doesnt mean it isn`t a crucial part of rap. And yes T-Pain does suck.

And what Andre said is true, but with that said, the first thing I think about are umbrellas. They couldn`t put Big Boi or someone else could they?

Underground is where hip hop flourished, and it is where it continues to flourish to this day. Good rap varies due to taste. some people like the flashy beats and loud yelling because that’s what they’ve been brought up to enjoy. Some people like mellow storytelling with a simple beat and a soulful singer on the chorus.

Now, to anyone who wishes to educate themselves, although im not expecting any of you to be honest, copy and paste the url.
Here is a list of rappers that covers the broadest of sub-genres, included are the artist, my personal favorite song by the artist, and a link to youtube.

if you want a history lesson, ill give you one

Decades ago, rap was a largely unnoticed genre, flourishing mostly underground, and without much commercial success. The commercial success common people are receiving today for simply saying slang words is disgusting and is ultimately the genre’s downfall.

http://www.xxlmag.com/online/?p=19543

instead of typing everything this man says, ill just link it. He makes the most sense of any explanation I’ve ever heard about the subject.

The only way to know what hip hop is is to live it, to have been there when it first starting coming out with simple beats, and corner rapping just for fun.

The reason so many people are against rap is because all they’ve been exposed to is the commercialized garbage that’s being glorified right now. Right now “snap and dance” music is hot, but it will die down eventually. Times are changing. T-Pain i

A beat is just as necessary as the lyrics. Its the complete package. One.Be.Lo has gotten better because he has better producers. Look at the Ghetto. It had lyrics and beat. Even Rakim who is the best pure lyricist had decent beats

Male 85
thats way too ambiguous, what does he control a drug ring in miami? is he an infamous drug lord? he doesnt control anything.

& btw, what did you mean one be lo had bad producers, because of the beat? theres nothing wrong with the beat. so in your opinion, a song is well produced if it has a flashy beat right? thats what i thought. sometimes a simple beat is used to emphasize the topic being discussed.

thats the whole point of `triumph`, there was hardly a beat. that was the point. 6 minutes of lyrical genius

ill put one song that is recent, just because you SHOULD know it.

Lupe fiasco - the coolest

from his previous album, hes been talking about his fictitious character somewhat based on himself, called Michael, (my cool, michael, get it?)

listen to the lyrics, who is he referring to as `her`? the streets. the streets can make him a king, they can give him all the money he can imagine. together they could do anything. the streets will never leave him,

all in all its about the hustler`s mentality when hes out in the streets

to full understand the complete message, youd have to listen to the cool from his previous album, and the die, and analyze them too.

anyway, your problem is all you`ve been exposed to, and all you`re willing to notice is mainstream

lemme guess, you think mixtapes are underground.

wayne has lyrics, but really, yeah i agree wayne PROBABLY put out lollipop to get some more attention, as if he needed anymore, but come on, theres no excuse for the lyrics

"Told her to back it up like erp erp
And make that *** jump like shczerp shczerp"

if he was really true to himself, he`d make lollipop commercialized enough that it brought in more consumers but still kept his previous fans happy with lyrics that actually MADE SENSE.

wayne has the lyrics, but just chooses not to use them.

it must be that sizzurp finally getting to him.

dude, that is SO true, which is what i meant by kanye and all them having substance, because you actually have to decipher the hidden meaning. "stronger" is more of an inspirational track, rather than having substance. and may i add lupe fiasco to the list cuz that dude i hella sick too, you know, since prime wants to bag on artists that write about skateboards. open your mind man, its NOT about the skateboard! listen to the track because he`s another one of those artists that have underlying meanings in their songs.

The army dosent allow gays either but that dosent stop them. You cant know if someone is gay or not unless they act or say theyre gay. The rap culture dosent allow that because theyre ignorant and wrapped up in the image where you have to have money cars and hoes. However that dosent mean they arent gay, it just means that they act not-gay.

ME DO MY RESEARCH???

Gueards dont take theirt belts away. They are simply not allowed to wear them. That and oversized garb contributed to sagging pants, but it really kicked off homosexuality as well, naturally. So either the person wearing them is advertising the fact that people in jail are cool (that we pay tax dollars for their stupid asses) or they are gay.,..ur choice.

ANY IDIOT CAN DO THE SOULJA BOY DANCE. now, whoever choreographs dances for other artists, now THATS skill. i agree with you, young jeezy is pretty skilled, but since when does rapping about cars, women, and money have stubstance? IT HAS NO SUBSTANCE WHATSOEVER. why do i say that? cuz every other rapper talks about that stupid poo. everyone knows rappers have a lot of money. why drill it into their heads over and over? WE GET IT. talk about something that has meaning. you know, kanye may be a sample rapper, but he takes it and turns it into something worth listening to. rap nowadays is so generic and lifeless, the only thing that matters is having a good beat. what happened to having good lyrics? rappers like kanye, common, talib, and mos def are preserving that. southern rappers are the worst, i swear.

"As a foremost expert" of all things Queer (get over yourself, Prime), I agree that this IS a big thing. He`s also right that it`s easier for a conservative to come out of the closet. Strangely, the Fundies are more forgiving than rap culture. Rappers have to make themselves out to be as macho as possible. Anything gay could possibly and eroneously feminize them. But being gay doesn`t make you any less macho. Just look at Rock Hudson, James Dean, or Steve McQueen. Some of the most macho men Hollywood has ever given us have been gay or bisexual. The problem is that when the general public hears the word Gay, they think flaming queens...which are only a small part of the gay community. They just happen to be the most noticable. It`ll be interesting to see who`s careers change because of this misconception.
"Thug culture is based on prison culture, and prison culture is really really gay." Even the whole pants sagging around your butt came from prison - to show you

Kanye is a joke. Ask anyone in the game. Common and Lupe do get respect from people; Common needs to loose Kanye and Lupe needs to make a few more songs until "Kick Push" becomes forgotten.

i dont blame you though, all youve known all your life is hippop.

chode, east coast has Dipset and Cassidy. They are still notorious.

And all dances are based on previously choreographed movement. Most people who dont like Soulja Boy aren`t capable of doing those movements themselves

And if you take away their belts, naturally their pants will sag.

Probably fancylad got a tip-off from my link earlier, on the gay lyrics topic. Though the ad on queerty was interesting :)

MNJ, because "Stronger" has substance? Because being a sample artist has substance? And experience? No one in the game has more experience than Trick Daddy, Young Jeezy, and Scarface. I`ll take Southern Smoke and Empire mixtapes over songs about a skateboard. The only good midwest rapper is Twista and he hasn`t made anything good since Spit Yo Game

^ ha, i know that `from the guards taken away their belts and shoelaces` , the hell you talkin about shoelaces. who uses shoelaces as belts man, how does that contribute to sagging pants.

maybe they sag their pants because they ass hurts from that shower last week

and for the record, people with REAL dancing ability have enough skill and capacity to dance to their OWN style. if anything, people who do the souljah boy dance DONT HAVE DANCING ABILITY because they have to follow the choreography of some STUPID DANCE.

primetimekin, man you aint no expert on anything. what are you talking about `West coast is gangsta, east coast is notorious, the south is hood, chi-town is very poetic`

east coast is notorious? lol? whered you get that from? OH BIGGIE, HA. hes dead, who do they have left thats `notorious` HA.

south is hood? ok, no, who you been listening to, lil wang? HA

you another kid who THINKS he knows the inner workings of hip hop, but really only knows or thought about or read on some website about some stuff kanyes been doing, and dont know SQUAT. quit acting like you an `EXPERT` man

Yes, it is a self-proclamation. Can anyone really argue that though?

And hip-hop isn`t black, its worldwide. Jeans around ankles comes from the guards taken away their belts and shoelaces. How is that gay? You better do research before you comment.

And Estilo, homophobia is essential for all rap artist. Its taboo in hip-hop to be gay. They will get absolutely no radio play if they are found to be gay. Well... Kanye will still get radio play because its a different market.

primetime, i dont even know how you can SAY midwest rap doesnt qualify as real rap! their lyrics have substance and thought and come from real experience. if anything the south has the worst rappers witht exception of ti, lil wayne, and ludacris. all southern rappers talk about is how many hoes they got, how much money they got and how big their rims are. just because rappers have a "poetic" style doesnt make them gay, alright? your closemindedness and inability to see southern rap for how crappy it really is says everything: you are DEFINITELY not an expert on rap OR hip hop.

Estilo,

IT seems to me black culture is probably the gayest of all cultures. They were the first to wear pink and think its cool (its not, ever) ...they wear their jeans around their ankles, which originates from prison. It was basically easy access for anyone who wanted to pound them...Im not racist, just an observation.

So what if they`re gay?

What is the big deal?

*ability.

Usher is quite possible. And im pretty sure R.Kelly will not be there.

Hip-hop is a culture that has made rappers famous with lyrics like "No homo but we c*ckin them"- Juelz Santana or "No homo but we harder than erections" lil wayne.

I really hope Kanye appears and maybe then people will stop listening to him. He is a producer, not a rapper. How many samples must he take?

As a foremost expert on Rap and hip-hop this is a big thing. It is a lot easier for a conservative to say he`s gay than it is for a rapper. There are no gay rappers, the rap culture just wont allow that.
Once I read this the first person I thought of is Kanye West. He has fought for gay rights and his lyrics are pretty gay. BTW I think he is the worst rapper alive, Bush has more street cred than him.

Eminem, I don`t really see it but I can`t say I wont be surprised.
Chi-town rap is where I would say you have to look at it. West coast is gangsta, east coast is notorious, the south is hood, chi-town is very poetic. Actually im surprised Kanye and Common even qualify as rap.
And I do expect many R&B artist to appear like Omarion and Chris Brown (I dont care who they have dated).

Soulja Boy I can ALMOST guarantee will not be there. Except for a close friendship with Arab there is nothing that will point to him. And people who dont like Crank dat normally have no dancing a

Fancylad...I`m curious as to who tipped you off to this. You really don`t seem like the Queerty type. LOL
Kanye probably is. But I`m suprised to see no mention of Tyrese anywhere so far. Rumors have surrounded his sexuality for YEARS, including one that his NFL star boyfriend`s name is tattooed on him somewhere.
Outing people invoulentarily is kinda shady. But if their music and public views are homophobic, as most rap is, I have no problem with them being exposed.

Didn`t really read the article, title says it all.

like an actor said, "who hasn`t had homosexual sex who is big named? some people just require you to sleep with them to get any where. Does it make me gay, you decide, but I see myself as straight who had to make some odd business decisions."

with that, I`m sure that some of the "thuggiest" rappers have slept with other men, be it a "prison rape" or casual experimentation while high. we are getting in society where everyone feels they have to try being gay/lesbian.
