But...it`s just a giant treadmill with horizontal treadmills...And the people didn`t seem to be walking normally because of the horizontal motion. Maybe OK Go can make a different BETTER dance on one of those.

If they could develop it so it wasn`t constantly moving in one direction, but moved the opposite way to the way you wanted to move by reading your brain impulses or something, then the videogame capabilities would be huge.

They could put a giant 360 degree projection or something around it.

It would bring first person shooters to a whole new level.

Maybe virtual walks would be created and bought :S "Walk through the Grand Canyon today!"

"Sensation of walking"? THEY ARE Walking. They`re just not going anywhere. Well, they are since the world is rotating and all. They have treadmills for that, all this does is allow you to turn around.

I.....I don`t get it..... it look`s like he`s walking, but.....he`s not! oh wait yes he is! God this is so confusing? What did they invent? a hook that holds you in one place while you actually WALK around on something thats moving? What`s the point? We`ve already had those for a while, as so many noted. And this doesn`t even have gaming benefits unless they develop shoes that sense which direction you walk in so it moves in that direction.

    I want that minute of my life back. -_-;

It`s a bigass treadmill... that makes you walk funny.

I`m pretty into gaming and can`t think of one single application of this. If they wanted to study the mechanics of how someone walked to try and make character movement realistic, couldn`t they just track people walking regularly? I don`t understand. If anyone else understand this, please fill me in. x_x

A 2-d treadmill. When they make a much smaller version of it that senses which way you want to go, then you could actually walk around inside a video game, while staying in place.

You`re all stupid with phrases such as "A treadmill, so what" (even though it says it in the description).
Can you not see, that whatever direction they walk in, the technoolgy makes it so he`s always in the same spot? the tracks move to the way he`s walking...
It offers alot of possibilites, like stated, a virtual reality, you could be walking through world war too, all virtual reality, or walking around venice, rome, new york, anywhere!
Also for virtual reality games, does that not sound cool? you could be running around, say in counter strike on that thing?

I call the lot of you stupid for just thinking it`s a treadmill

tl;dr grow some brains and imagination

The new WII accessory, "The Wiiwalk" no more staying in one place, you can now move while you slash at your opponents. They could really market it though, make all the kids get exercise w/o them knowing it.

didnt watch much, saw the person walking on the big treadmill thing, no audio... from my point of view, it looks like a giant, arm-severing treadmill... if you dont understand, think about what might happen if your arm got caught in it when it was going around the front or back

    Great for music videos?
    ...No.

If you`re getting that delivered to you just for 30-120 seconds of `walking` shots... There`s a few things you`re forgetting...

It`s HUGE! Think of shipping costs...
    It`s frikkin` expensive... Rental costs?
    It`s awkward...

If you`re gonna travel just to use one, you still have to hire it, it`s still awkward, and there probably wont be that many around...

Just hire a big-ass warehouse and walk around in that. Simple, and cheaper.

Correct me if I`m wrong, but where does this thing beat a warehouse? You don`t need safety cables to walk in a warehouse...

    x.

if u run without touching the ground u will stay at same spot or does that just feel like fake walking ?
