Wow, just leave that thing for 10 years as it slowly grows to mammoth proportions. Good job parents. Or healthcare system. They probably couldn`t afford the procedure. Whoever you want to blame here...

Finances. They were too poor to do anything about it, I would guess. Then a University or hospital hears about these cases and takes them on for free. Whether their motivation is altruism or desire for positive publicity, one can only speculate. I suppose it would depend on the person.

Why didn`t they have it removed when it was just a bean size growth on her tongue? How very sad for the little girl. I suppose the family was waiting for it to grow so large that someone would take pity on them and offer their surgical services for free. Very sad.

I hope that things go well with her, and how can someone go 10 years without going through treatment, how can parents just sit there and watch their child suffer like that. I guess certain circumstances such as no health care or anything could have played a roll, I dunno. I feel so bad :/

It must have been painful for the parents too, since they had to watch their child go through pain and not be able to do anything about it because of their finances...

That sucks, but it`s also very bizarre. I haven`t heard of something like that happening before.
