I feel so awful that I didn`t know there was a disease killing them. I feel out of the loop. I want to cry. I mean, I hate them along with everything else that stings, but I don`t want them to die...

Wasn`t there this upcoming movie where the beginning of the preview was a school teacher talking about bees dying out? I completely forget the title... saw it in a preview once when I went to see The Ruins.

Good to see a reliable ice cream company has the idea to do what a lot of other companies haven`t.

Then again, I don`t watch a lot of TV anyway.

The reason the honey bees are dying off is because of corporations. George Bush and worse, Dick Cheney, and all their Haliberton cronies have been causing this for years now. It all comes down to far right Christian conservatives and global warming. The number of bees started dropping at the same time that Bush destroyed the world trade center. Coincidence? I don`t think so!

I was sitting here thinking,
This is just like a tv advert.
And it was.
Goodtimes.

At the age of four, A Queen Paper Wasp stung me right on a birth mark on my left foot.

Unrelated, but yeah.

Mother of All wasps, (think Alien Queen)

I always hated bees because of their sting, but now that they are disappearing I realized now how important they are... I guess its true when they say "you don`t know what you have till its gone."

Aaww, poor bees. I never knew that... Honeybees are so cute! Koala, you`re lucky you have a garden where bee`s come to. I`d love to have one... I like watching bees.

It underplays the actualy situation.

They are being infected by an unknown disease which deteroirates their nervous system.

Thats just one of the problems, another is for some reason they are getting lost and can`t find their way back to the hive, which has not been a problem for eons past.

Theyc an fly a good ditance.

Bees Arriving in my garden come from a good 20-25kms away.
(Hivekeeper tagged them one year for tracking)

It is GREED that is killing our bees. When scientists did biopsies on the bees they found it was not fungus, virus, or bacteria. The problem is that the bees are starving to death. Our ancient friend cannot recognize most genetically modified crops where they are kept, and transported to.

Everyone is going green. Ice cream companies are preaching to America`s youth.
Next thing you know, the Ice Cream Man pulls up and a bear sticks its head out the window

Im allergic to bees and bears and ice cream

the honeybee thing is a serious problem. clockwork, i agree that something else will step up, but those kind of things are usually slow in coming.

kind of a crappy commercial, though. pretty i guess, but not very clever.

I am hoping that becasue nature hates a vaccuum, where the bees disappear, something else will step up to the plate.

I`m not counting on it though.

I heard a report on the decline of honeybees before. I`d have to dig it up, but basically, if we lose our honeybee population, we`d lose our largest source of pollinators, which would lead to a massive decline in crops. I`m too lazy to look it up right now, but I`m pretty sure the scientists are with this commercial.

Poor lil bees :(

No, but seriously, it`s scary that they`re dying and that they play such an important role in the ecosystem.
