This pissed me off so much.
Stop accusing Police officers of doing bad things. He did not push her enough! That woman practically jumped off. It is sick, the men are just trying to do their job. That woman shouldn`t live, what is she doing and why isn`t she following orders, it isn`t hard AT ALL!

Not the most convincing of shove I must say. I have seen people get through worst then that and still managed to stand still.

She was obviously faking because a normal person would have stood back up right away. You can`t really get hurt with a small fall like that.

Plus the way she put her hands on her chest after the fall and the position of her legs suggest that she was faking it.

Pushing down stairs aside, why didn`t he help her up after she fell? Instead he walks off and skulks about in the corner. So whether she faked falling down or actually did, common courtesy dictates helping people up.

Think the courtroom smack, but less obvious. Barely even touched her and she went flying. Its hard to fall that fast from even a quick, hard jab - you will at least wobble for a second.

    Daegog and Aftershock

The light tap on her shoulder is my first clue towards the woman`s bad acting. Second she practically flew down the stairs and it would require a pretty hard shove to do that. That said I`ll ignore that for a moment, because yes, some people do have horrible balance. Just look at her lying ther on her back. Terrible acting. I haven`t been pushed down stairs, but I sure have fallen down them, and that is not how you lie in pain. Pathetic. She was just trying to get a lawsuit.

And why dont you go and see the report that the video comes with, double click it, and read, then think, so, she decided to launch herself down a few steps? so why did the cop then go on the threaten witnesses after the event took place? go get the full story, then start making accusations.

He doesn`t help her up for the same reason no one else helps her up. Because she`s laying there like an idiot. He barely touches her with one arm and she goes flying. And from the video you can see, she`s not a small woman. I don`t know about you, but I`m not strong enough to launch a fat woman that fast and far downstairs. And if she was moving that fast there`s no way you just flip around like that and fall on your back. She was stumbling perfectly fine until she twirled around and fell on her back.
More evidence she`s faking is she`s on the ground for over 40 seconds. Why yes I understand stumbling down 5 stairs can be quite a traumatic experience, but honestly, get over it.

I don`t usually side against cops, but this is one time where I can`t back them up. He pushed her and he pushed her hard. If you watch at the beginning of the clip, it looks like they were having a yelling match and he lost his cool. When he pushed her, both feet were together at the edge of the step. He pushed her with a fairly significant amount of force and she fell quite a distance.

You can get hurt falling any distance; it`s all a matter of how you land. I think the wind was knocked out of her at first, not that she was really hurt because she did eventually move to get up.

All the same, bad cop. Not nice.

And yeah, I read up on the incident. From his past incidents obviously this cop shouldn`t even be employed as a police officer. But you also have to take into account this stupid woman. Spitting in an officers face, being an idiot, etc. But with one arm, the way he was standing, he just couldn`t have put enough force into his push to throw her like that. His body didn`t move at all, when throwing force into a push, your body moves.

Woot45 "Think the courtroom smack, but less obvious. Barely even touched her and she went flying. Its hard to fall that fast from even a quick, hard jab - you will at least wobble for a second."

she had commited her weight onto the lower step at the very moment of the push before her foot made contact with the lower step. at this point she is most vulnerable and it will take the lightest of pushes to put her to the floor.

While I have been a frequent IAB visitor on and off for several years (ok two), I find myself finally annoyed enough to actually make an account and post.

    Groogle said
"She was obviously faking because a normal person would have stood back up right away. You can`t really get hurt with a small fall like that."

Groogle, regardless of whether or not this or was fake you statement clearly shows that you have never fallen down the stairs.

I fell down three stairs. The results?
Broken nose, chipped off half my front tooth, concussion, fractured knee cap.

Even if she did fall on her own, she fell more than three stairs... and probably regretted it (if indeed she fell on purpose).

OK everyone it`s pretty obvious what happenned.

The officer was pissed off about a comment made by the woman and gave her a sharp push. This push coincided with the woman going down one step, wich made her totally unbalanced and her feet were badly planted. The combination of the two resulted in a bigass fall.

Also, props to the cop for casually fading away.

Whether he shoved her or not that cop sure seemed brave when he faded into the crowd without even trying to help her up. I`m glad to know that irresponsible A-holes like that cop are out there `protecting` us. Granted, not All cops are douche-bags, but this particular police officer really showed what kind of backbone he has. The least he could have done was try to help her up, but he was too busy trying to disappear. If you don`t have the decency to help another human being to their feet (whether it was his fault she fell or not) I personally don`t want him in charge of `protecting` me.

I`ve fallen down stairs before and there is no "Let me wobble to try and get balance." It is a quick forward motion and you go so fast you have no time to try and keep balance let alone grab onto anything and since your heading down anyway any type of movement can send you flying down them.

It looks real to me. She was turning her attention to the steps when she was pushed. Slips on one step, with her next step she tries to grab the next step down, but her momentum carries her forward and topples downward, turns and lands on her side and rolls onto her back. Looks like she got the wind knocked out of her and that`s why she is so still on the ground.

I think it might have been real. It looked like he pushed her and she (been not so slim) had to get some force from the fall. We could not even hear anything but maybe something about how hard she fell or something else could have proved it either she faked or really did hurt. Plus, like some others have said, the cop didn`t even try and help ask her if she was alright.

Thanks whoever posted the link for telling us what we`re supposed to see before we watch it.

"Cop pushes woman down stairs - Yes he really did - no really you can see it"

    1) If it`s so drating obvious, you don`t need to point it out.
    2) If you say shove mor epoeple will see it as a shove. If you labelled this vid "Police taps woman and she goes flying", *thats* what people would see. If you mentioned she was faking it, more people wpould think she was. People believe the titles irrespective of what`s in the video.
    3) I didn`t see jack, and apparently, that`s more than what you saw.

it looks like he did push her, but he didn`t mean to make her fall, and i strongly doubt the fall was enough to do any real damage, since she pops up quickly after the fact

the cops back off because the know they`re screwed, they know she`s ganna sue and there are so many witnesses and they probly know the camera is there.

its not like cops are superheros, you can be a cop without college, these are just normal guys who got pissed off at some fattie who yelled and spit at them. if some bitch spits at u, ur bound to do something stupid out of sheer anger.

does he deserve to be punished? yes
but does that fattie deserve money for falling down some stairs? hell no

and oddly enough...if she were hurt when she fell down those stairs...why do none of these articles mention anything about it?

Assuming She Was Indeed At A Nightclub You Might Claim She Had A Couple Of Alcoholic Drinks. First - I`m Pretty Sure, From Lots Of Experience Of Alcohol, That The Woman Wasn`t Thinking, "Okay, IF IF IF This Pig Touches Me I`m Gonna Launch Myself Half Way Down This Spiral Of Stairs So I Can Get Heaps Of Muhla." There Is No Way She Would Be Thinking Of That. She`s Way Too Busy Spitting And Calling The Pig Unacceptable Names. You Would Be One Brave Person To Launch Yourself Off Stairs On Purpose, Your Brain Doesn`t Allow It...Because Everyone Knows Falling Down Stairs Would Hurt Like Hell.
Second - If She Was Under The Influence Of Alcohol, You`re Naturally Unstable So Having A Man Give You A Shove Down Some Stairs While Already Being A Bit Wobbly, Of Course You`re Going To Lose Your Balance And Go Face First Smack Into The Ground. I Don`t Believe This Is Fake.

AND AFTER CAREFUL REVIEW..... real push, fake reaction.

You notice he pushes her and she falls, then she lifts her head and puts it back down. Fake.

An yes I have fallen down stairs (3 of them) and you dont lay on the floor afterwards.

this entire thing looks like it has been acted out in order to get a rise out of people on the internet (ugh oh, look at us) and the media in order to promote negativity towards cops. and yes, there ARE bad cops, but does that mean that we should treat them all like poo. look at it this way, there ARE bad white people (manson, dhamer, ect) does that mean were all bad? no. this is just another form of stereotyping, just like racism, this is classism.

^ lol at the above; "it says he tazed her and if you look close you can see" so, from a very low quality clip, all of you saying "OMG HE PUSHED HER!!!111!one" and "She`s trying for a lawsuit" can apparently make an objective judgement. All I saw was a woman on the stairs, a cop behind her, a whitish band of pixels behind her back, and then, like half a second later, she`s on the floor. I don`t think any of you who commented without reading the article know what happened, and thus, shouldn`t pass judgement like idiots.

He was a jerk to push her. And as an officer of the law, it`s despicable. But let`s be honest here. People don`t become non-nice individuals for no reason. She was probably mouthing off and undermining his authority.

And you know what? I dont feel bad for her because she wasnt even hurt. It was a small fall, she tumbled properly. She didn`t hit the ground hard. She was fine but she tried to lay there and act like she was hurt.

^Oh, and the whitish band of pixels appeared to go *accross* the cop`s body. Body check? maybe he was fixing his tie? See? I don`t know, and neither do any of us commentors.

@Shaboobalah: Whitish band of pixels? Go and troll somewhere else.

I also thought it may have been overacting but if she had been drinking it would explain it. It`s hard to say.

Also, the charges the officer made against her, spitting (battery on a law enforcement officer) and resisting arrest, were dismissed, by the IA, as inaccurate, false or improper information.

Just use common sense and don`t push people when they are standing in stairs and this sort of thing won`t happen.

It looks like the room was dark, so it could have been an accident

I also doubt that it`s fake, but I think the woman may have been exaggerating a little

that clearly was not a tap you can see the quickness of the elbow movement there was force behind it. Also she moved directly foward after the so called "tap". Try reaching out the way he did and as quickly as he did with just a tapping force, it feels akward because he didn`t just tap her he put force behind the push. Maybe not enough that it was like a punch but enough to lose balance and fall foward. You don`t need to shove someone to make them fall downstairs, it only needs a little bit to make people lose balance and then gravity takes over. Also people land in all sorts of positions when they fall downstairs.

if you read the story behind it the facts are plain to see.
The victim did not make a complaint (hmm how would she be going for a law suit if she did not make a complaint against the officer?)
Internal Affairs are the ones who highlighted the officers bad behaviour to the police force and threw out his chages as false

So whether faking or nnot, stop laying into the fat bird! She wasn`t (it seems) trying to make anything out of the situation (probably embarrassed at her own behaviour) and wasn`t hurt enough to warrant making a complaint in an attempt to milk some cash out of the police. The officer acted unproffessionally plain and simple. He should not have pushed her no matter the provocation (as she didn`t actually violently threaten the officer enough for him to use foce to subdue her)

sorry but that WAS a push. im pretty sure the nano seconds between the push and the start of the fall was VERY little time to think `oh i can act this out and make it seem worse than it is so i can sue them`

she clearly got pushed, quite hard..definately hard enough to lose balance going down some stairs!! the fact he walked off proved it really. although noone seem remotely bothered by her for a while. whether she was a criminal or not, a cop shuld not be doing things like that....even if it wasnt as hard a push as it seemed.

i think it`s better for you guys to try to get pushed and fall off the stairs and feel the pain before making any comments of the vic being overreacting.
jeez. get a life dude. it was obvious that the cop pushed her.

Trolling? Nah, just wishing that people wouldn`t act like they know exactly what happened based on a choppy, grainy video with no sound and at a quality my dad`s camcorder from the 80`s could beat. I admitted I couldn`t tell what was happening, I didn`t say that you were all wrong. It`s possible she was pushed, but possible she wasn`t. My argument was simply that I couldn`t tell, and I sincerely doubt anyone else here can. Unless they were there.

there are over 660,000 police officers in america, and every couple of weeks or so we see one incident like this. It`s not just police officers. let`s assume that one incident like this has happened every week for the past 10 years. that would be less than a one in one thousand statistic for ten years. for the past ten years, the other 99.9% have not done anything news worthy, or even IAB worthy. You people need to seriously stop hating on cops.

It does look like he gave her a rather good nudge and that was definitely enough to cause her to lose her balance and the momentum of her body to knock her the rest of the way down the stairs. Although she could`ve been injured from that wall, assuming she wasn`t and was just lying there, why should she want to get up after he pushed her? We have no right to touch a police officer because we`d be charged with ASSAULT, even if it was just the slightest of touches, I don`t think he had the right to push her, especially since she was on a flight of stairs which gives an even greater chance of her seriously injuring herself. Its also very impolite for NONE of those guys to help her up, a fall is a fall.

All cops are bad. That`s why they are cops. They want power and can`t get a real job.
