We all remember this from when we had to memorize them in the fourth-or-so grade, right?

82. Reasonable. Got most of the obvious ones, a good number of those named after people, and the systematically named 112-118. Missed a worrying number of transition metals, including Zirconium and Palladium. Should have got Bismuth and Strontium too.

Worst group: Nitrogen`s and Oxygen`s (numbering varies and there`s none on the table). Worst period: The lanthanides, naturally.

And Mithril`s not there because it`s not an element, it`s an intermetallic compound probably invloving a lanthanide.

Would`ve been higher, but I can`t spell these things.
Not bad for flunking out of chemistry.

115/118. Tellurium gets me EVERY TIME.

That`s Tom Lehrer for you. Plus an advanced degree program in Modern Chemistry.

For the last time... Water isn`t an element, it`s a compound. H20! More than one element! Jeez...

This is one of those numerous things that you learn, but unless you acutally use it in your real life, you forget it. I do recall learning these, but I never have to know them, so I`ve pushed it out of my mind. I only got 10, and I learned them easily over 12 years ago, that would have been like 6th or 7th grade.

I only got 41, and wow why would you have to memorize them in 7th grade, Ugh.

For Chemistry, I only had to memorize the important ones, the common non-metals, and certain other metals that you might use often, like lead.

I had to figure them out by mineral formulas and isotopes since I haven`t had to deal with a straight-on periodic table in a few years. Got about 25 or so before I realized I wasn`t going to remember all the formulas and said f-it.

29...

I kept mispelling Beryllium (I was spelling it Berillium), that was getting to me.

I missed so many that I should have known that it was pathetic: Lithium, Aluminum, Phosphorus, Neon, Silicon, Silver, Potassium, Platinum, Tin, Iodine, Radon, Lead, Bismuth.

Yeah, like I could SPELL the rest.
