-From an earlier post- Whoever is against this war answer me this. How would you protect your nation from people who are willing to kill anyone anywhere at anytime. The US can`t just sit on its ass and do nothing we have to stop these murders. I know this is harsh but think about it, we have 3 choices: 1.Do nothing and hope it doesn`t happen again (like what Clinton did w/ the 1st WTC bombing and the attack on the USS Cole) 2.Fight terrorist on US soil and put your friends and family in more danger 3.Fight the terrorist where they live. I know Iraq isn`t where their home base is, but the Soviets showed us what would happen if the US would have the main fight in Afgan. Iraq was probably picked because it had a government that the citizens wouldn`t mind having gone, it had access to the ocean, and it was close to the enemy. I think Bush is stupid like a fox.

Quote from earlier post of mine.

"Only reason he sent troops to Iraq was to finish what his father didn`t. His father was smart, he realized that the gulf war would be pointless to fight and withdrew troops after first few months."

Basically, he had a grudge against Saddam and still has a grudge on Iraq. He felt he owed it to his father to finish it. Simple as that people. You guys are thinking to hard ;p.

I`m thinking that now since the war in Iraq has been active for around 5 years now, Bush thinks it`s to late to end the war because we are supposedly close to "success".

But whatever Bush`s term is almost over.

Mani-Jac, I believe Saddam`s execution had more to do with those Mass Graves, and less to do with his impatience with the U.N.

And progress has been made in Iraq. It`s just not being published

well, i hate bush as much as the next guy, but i think he was speaking figuratively here.

yes, the war on iraq was illegal, and immoral, and a bad decision all round. this should be obvious. turn off fox and pick up a newspaper.

The majority of Americans do. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way we`ve let our government acquire too much power. Our vice president in crime "Dick" Cheney when asked about the majority of Americans wanting out of Iraq said "So"

wait.... why is the Iraq war illegal? Bush is Constitutionally the Commander and Chief of our country and i`m pretty sure he got Congress`s approval.
secondly, from the way you all talk- we should just put you guys at the head of every single national security and intelligence agency in the country- cia, nsa, fbi... EVERYTHING (since CLEARLY you would have taken control and made the best choice). One thing about history is that you can always look back on and decide on the right decisions- doesn`t mean you could at the time.

And to those who like to argue "Iraq will be a mess if we leave" It was a mess BEFORE we got there. Those people have been killing each other for centuries. Us being there is only making it worse. It`s time to come home.

Iraq never had WMDs. They have never found any evidence of them.

And Al-Qaeda, who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks, are based in Afghanistan. They just used it as an excuse to invade Iraq. Bin Laden must be laughing in his cave that you all totally forgot about him so quickly and decided to go after Saddam instead.

^ It`s easy because he is.
I have a calendar of stupid Bush quotes, one a day. That means he`s made over 365 stupid quotes in his political career, which is a lot.

My personal favourite was when he was speaking in Japan, he said "our great alliance which has lasted over a century".

What would sites like I-A-B do if they couldn`t spin everything Bush says and does? Any person with a grain of intelligence could see what he meant by watching this. But it`s just so easy to post the "Bush is an idiot" headline, isn`t it?

Bush did not win the popular vote on re-election. So some of you(most of you) need to get facts straight. Bush had the highest approval rating any president has had in his first term.

People were in panic after 9/11 and the president dealt with it really well in fact. Things were going well his first term and people thought it would be best to re-elect him. Keep in mind the war in Iraq was not going on his first term. He thought he would secure his place for another 4 years as president before sending troops to Iraq. That was his biggest mistake. Only reason he sent troops to Iraq was to finish what his father didn`t. His father was smart, he realized that the gulf war would be pointless to fight and withdrew troops after first few months.

He wasn`t literally talking about Mandela, but about people like Mandela that would be in Iraq. Basically, democratic revolutionaries in Iraq. The reason he uses this metaphor is not his own fault. Like he said in his first statement, it`s in response to someone else who used the metaphor first. So, he`s carrying on with the same metaphor to help that person understand. I don`t know why y`all be Bush-bashing for this out-of-context video clip. If you want to criticize Bush, at least do it for a legitimate reason, not this. Anyone can take anyone`s statements out of context and bend it to any means. Those kind of people are evil propagandists / liars / deceivers. Don`t lower yourselves to that level.

The war Is illegal and unjustified. The middle east messes with us because we`ve messed with them for so long. Anyone who thinks i`m wrong, do some research first. It`s not hard to figure out. I didn`t vote for Bush. He is a war criminal plain and simple. Thankfully, he`ll be out soon, but the rigged elections will put John "Insane" McCain in, and we`ll be even worse off.

It may take a few decades to take Iraq up to speed with the rest of the U.S., but under my plan, it will happen. Iraq will CHANGE towards the better, and don`t we all want change?

To those who think other countries will declare war on the U.S. if we do this:

No, the Soviet Union did this all the time, and no one declared war on them. They didn`t because of mutually assured descruction. To once again re-enter this Cold War state, the U.S. merely need to launch several propaganda campaigns towards potential threatening countries that we have nukes and aren`t afraid to use them. Also, it would help if we threaten the enemy with our nuclear-armed and rail-gun satellites in the sky.

Some people have asked which Americans will volunteer to move to Iraq. My answer:

We already have able-bodied soldiers there. Some of them are single. There are many American women who are stupid and don`t know where Iraq is because they don`t have maps, so we`ll just tell them there are fairies and castles in Iraq and they`ll go. The American women stupid enough to think this happen to be somewhat good-looking too, so the able-bodied U.S. soldiers in Iraq would procreate with them easily. The non-single soldiers would be shipped back to the U.S. The able-bodied soldiers remaining are already really organized, and with the Iraqi`s shipped away, they don`t have to worry about defense and can spend their efforts rebuilding infrastructure and procreating with the dumb blondes who have no maps. Eventually, smarter people will voluntarily go to Iraq once it`s infrastructure is up, to invest economically, and will add brains into the gene pool there.

Gino, Bush`s approval rating went as low as 19%. It`s not cool how he`s ruining the economy and killing our soldiers. But still I`m proud to be an american. Only in America can some dumber than all hell c-average idiot become president. At least I can beat the president of the united states in trivial pursuit, should the opportunity arise.

Gino, America is not cool with that, check your facts before you talk poo. There were a lot of people against him, when he won the election. And if you ever look at his approval ratings, you`d see how low they are, so obviously, America is not cool with an idiot for a president.

Just send the illegal immigrants there and start on construction of houses.

ttsec, though you are right that Iraq will go crazy the minute we leave, can you imagine the backlash if we annexed Iraq and forcefully relocated their citizens (If that is indeed what you`re saying)? The entire Middle East, Russia, Europe, China, and just about every other entity that has power would go absolutely apesh-t if the US did that. We`d officially become an expanding, controlling, empire and, hell, they`d probably declare war on us or something.

The Roman Empire, Alexander, Nazi Germany, and just about every other expanding empire that operated just like that went down in flames. The US would be no different.

Unless you`re just kidding, then ignore me. :P

I think the U.S. should just annex Iraq and relocate all the Iraqi`s spread out among the rest of U.S. and populate Iraq with western-cultured Americans. It`s the only reasonable action to take. If we leave, Iraq will go into crazy civil war business, if we stay, we are extending our military resources that could be used for defense, so we must somehow rebuilt Iraq into an American culture, and the strategy I proposed has been effectively used in history by people like Alexander the Great and Roman Empire. This is the best compromise to make.
