I know that hospital, it is here in Norwich, where I live,so it is the University Hospital. They are a good hospital, that was where I had to have corrective surgery on my nose.

That was an extremely mild case of cellulitis in that picture. This gentleman DID have cellulitis and it was a rather extreme case. I have seen some nasty cases of it. Pilonidal cysts are gross too, especially when they get big.

Cellulitis though can happen anywhere. Sometimes, you may not even remember doing something to cause an injury; like maybe scuffing your ankle on a curb, scraping your arm while taking a hike (which can also lead to necrotizing fasciitis). People with compromised immune systems are more prone to cellulitis; such as elderly folk or people recovering from an illness (such as the flu or even a cold). Best advice is if you scuff yourself, trip over a curb and scratch yourself or whatever; soak the area in epson salt and warm water for 20 minutes. I keep a bag of it in my car in case I need it.

The lego up the nose is common. In adults, finding things like anal beads, rolling pins, pop cans, batteries, etc also common. What some people do!

When I was about 4 I folded up a piece of paper and shoved it up my nose. My mom noticed something was wrong when I got all stuffed up in just the one nostril so she looked up my nose and saw something; she grabbed a pair of tweezers and pulled it out. Kids do that sort of thing all the time.. nothing really bizarre about it.

When my daughter was 2 she got a raisin stuck up her nose. Luckily they were able to suck it out easily. The next day she put one of those Legos up her nose. I did NOT want to go back to the ER so I held her down and tried to get it out with tweezers. She didn`t like being held down and started crying and the Lego shot out of her nose! :D

Cmantlan, please never, ever try and be a medical opinion again. You found that found picture on Wikipedia, which is hardly an established and trusted medical resource. Cellulitis can present in many different, the pt in the video had a rather extreme case, whereas the example in the picture you posted was a mild case.

Does anyone remember when I-Am-Bored was a family site? It never used to show anything extreme like this and the most hardcore they`d go is have a little swearing. If there was swearing, they`d plaster NSFW all over the title. Now it`s becoming the same as all the other viral site.

That isn`t all that uncommon though. Nurse friend of mine had quite a few last summer :/

Cellulites is really now big deal beacause we have antibiotics now. He should have went to the hospital much sooner when it started looking bad though.

Thank God for antibiotics!!!

"unrelated question: how long should u wait until you can be sure the content you submitted didn`t make it on the site? anyone know? a day? a week?"

Never. If it DOES get accepted, it should be up within the next 24 hours. Theres a slim chance anything you submit will get accepted, though; God knows how much crap Fancy has to sift through every day...

Fancylad, how many submissions a day DO you get???
